Coco Rica is nestled in the heart of a vibrant tropical jungle, and with that comes the beauty—and the buzz—of nature. You may encounter colorful butterflies, majestic moths, singing cicadas (especially during the dry season), squawking parrots, and howler monkeys that might just become your natural alarm clock at sunrise. Large grasshoppers, spiders, ants, and scorpions are also common. The house is regularly treated/sprayed for critter removal, but remember that this is a jungle.

Most guests come to Costa Rica to enjoy this incredible biodiversity, and we hope you do too. That said, we want to set realistic expectations: insects typically stay outdoors, but they may wander in if doors are left open or lights are on after dark.

It’s all part of the magic of the jungle—wild, alive, and unforgettable.
