Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Ocean front view with a short walk to the ocean was great. House was clean and ready before 4. Pleasant surprise for us, beds were already made! We had a few issues ( outside shower, leak inside shower leak and under kitchen sink . We reported the issues and repairmen were there quickly. Excellent customer service. Would rent house again. Keyless entry and elevator was a bonus

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Sanderling was a great house and our expectations were beyond what we imagined. The openness of the dining and living spaces made the house a lot brighter than the pictures show online. And the amazing covered back porch and new deck and stairs made our stay even better. Excellent location, too. Much quieter with less people and crowding. Very clean and well organized.

Cute but not updated

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, the stay was great. It was a perfect house for the 7 of us that stayed. However, I can’t imagine how this house could fit 14 people! The bathrooms are small, but again, worked for 7 of us. One of the bathrooms, the one with the bigger shower on the right, smelled though. It was like a moldy/mildewy smell. I understand those showers are hard to clean because of the type of door, but the smell permeated to the room that my boys stayed in. The other bathroom had an issue with draining in the sink and towards the end of the trip, the shower took a little bit to drain. But it didn’t ruin the trip. It was nice being able to adjust each room with the air conditioning because of the individual wall units, but a few of them had a yucky smell and they were very loud. The kitchen had everything we needed! The living space was great and we love having a screened in porch to sit on, especially on the rainy days. The access to the beach was perfect! Overall, we were very happy with our stay!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Well let's begin with the pros of this rental: Large kitchen with plenty of dishes. We did have to purchase o few serving spoons but, no big deal. Dining area and living room very open and spacious. lots of books to enjoy reading while sitting on two huge porches or in great rocking double rocker on walkway to beach. Loved the extra table in dining area which we used for our computer, meds, keys, purses, etc. Fabulous views of course. Beds were very comfortable and rooms very large. The extra frig downstairs is a huge plus. Elevator is a huge plus to help with luggage transfers, groceries, etc. Now for the cons: The frig upstairs was missing the shelf above the drawers which is greatly needed. We were told they ordered. It was never brought to us. We were here for 4 months. We were told it was coming "tomorrow" a few times. Due to cold spell (it snowed) the furnace could not keep up and dropped into 50's in the home. Both bathrooms are small and the sinks drain extremely slow. There are no grab bars or lift chair as described. Lights should be better on the stairs in front of the house. Elevator has holes in doors due to at times needs to use a screwdriver to push over button to open outside door. (Its's easy)Overall loved the house and all its amenities. I would recommend this to others.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The air conditioning situation ruined our trip. No mention in the rental description that two windows have air conditioners or that box fans were in some bedrooms because the central air conditioning has issues. Even after portable air was installed the final two days of our visit, the house remained between 82-85 degrees until about 10pm at night. The lowest temperature at night was 74 degrees. My son, DIL and newborn grandson had to leave every day to find a cool spot to stay with the baby until they could return to sleep. My elderly parents struggled breathing in the heat of the home. We were also without internet/WiFi the first 3 days and we were told we were at the mercy of the provider. When the provider came, it turns out that the rental company gave us the wrong WiFi name and password and had an extra cord attached to the router. When maintenance came to "show us" how to use the elevator, the door got stuck and he told me not to panic because there was an emergency release to open the door. Needless to say, we did not use the elevator. The house was surface clean but under all furniture there was inches of dust...I wish I could post pictures. Although the rental company sent people each time we called, they did nothing to rectify the situation. We have used Garden City Realty for the past four years, and unfortunately the house my parents previously booked was unavailable this year. After this experience, we will no longer be using Garden City Realty. The condition of the home should be updated in the description.

The AC struggled to keep up during the day (set on 73), but we stayed on the beach most of the days. Needs a couple of steak knives in the kitchen. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay.

Kids had to wear shoes on deck and be careful of railings. Wood was very old. Two window air conditioners had to run along with regular air to keep house cool.

Perfect location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house is the perfect location between pier and inlet. We enjoyed our stay and loved the house. It is older and not as updated as some but it is perfect for a beach stay. We spent most of our time on the beach or on the screened in porch. It is very roomy out there with plenty of chairs for everyone. We have talked about staying here again next time. The customer service at Garden City Realty os also the best and we always use them when visiting Garden City.

When we arrived, we did have to wait extra time for check in due to waiting on the final inspection which was explained in an email may happen. House was still dirty. Shower door handle was broken, screen for back porch broken, floors a little uneven (from settling?), and you have to make your own bed upon arriving. Overall though, we were happy with our stay. Description does not boast a pool, but most houses around you have a pool, so you may spend your vacation a little jealous.

So none of the 5 tvs worked until Thursday. Called to complain no response. Then on Saturday when we were packing up elevator didn’t work. What’s the deal subpar keeping property ready for the price as $5300.00 that we paid.

Sanderling Vacation in September 2020

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was as the pictures described. Our main complaint was that the floor was extremely dirty. Also the HVAC return air grille was caked with dust and the sofa was blocking more than have the return air duct. Don't know how it was still working properly. There were a lot of bugs(roaches) in the kitchen. The vertical blinds at the sliding glass door were broken. Garden City Realty offered to send someone out to fix but we declined.
