What a perfect location! We enjoyed popping down to the lake and exploring the bike path into Colchester. And the house was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. The outdoor dining area was especially great, and Eileen was an attentive and kind host.

Biker's Paradise was a wonderful stay. The house was nice and open on the first floor, great gathering island with stools, the bedrooms were very good, beds were comfortable. The kitchen was really stocked! There was nothing missing! Everything we needed for cooking, which we did! The hot tub was used daily after biking, very nice. The house was 1.3 miles from the causeway ferry, great to be on that trail on such a nice day. You can see Lake Champlain from the house, so that was lovey. We used the upstairs porch each night, too, very nice to sit outside. the Tiki bar was adorable. It had electricity, so we charged some ebikes there. Overall, Eileen's place was excellent.

The well water smell in bathrooms was really bad. Turning on shower and faucets in bathrooms made me want to retake a shower. There was a water purifier in the refrigerator that we found out about after we bought water.

The location was beautiful, open and convenient. The walk to the beach, tiki bar in the back and everything we could need within a 10 minute drive made this the perfect spot for our annual friends trip. Check in was a breeze and Eileen was incredibly thoughtful with the details. We are definitely considering this location for future trips.

The pictures do not do this home justice. It is one of the nicest we have been to. We were welcomed after a long day of travel to wine and cheese, lots of room for relaxation, and very comfortable beds. I wish we had longer to enjoy the back yard. Our family wants to return.

Quiet location. 2 min walk to lake. Narrow beach, primarily large pebble and rocks, as well as entrance to the lake, though with patches of sand. Water shoes highly recommended. Comfortable for small kids to play in/near water. Great place for windsurfing, wing, kite etc.

The house is really nice - I think the pictures undersell it a little. Very spacious, open, clean. The location is also great. It's 25 min or so from Burlington, but there are also a lot of restaurants/stores/breweries/bagel shops in the area so it's not like you're far from things.Lake access was easy - we took out the kayaks and had fun with those. Great biking along the trail, too. Didn't end up taking the ferry but seemed simple enough to do.Overall, an excellent weekend in Vermont and I'd definitely consider a return.

We had a lovely time at Eileen's fabulous cabin. She was a gracious host and left us some delicious wine, cheese, & crackers to welcome us after a long day of travel.Everything was clean, comfortable, and the kitchen was well-stocked with spices and condiments, as well as dishware, stemware, and cooking utensils. Weather was perfect in early Fall, and we enjoyed our time hanging out in the hot tub and lounging in the entertainment room with giant TV screen on the second floor. Downtown Burlington is a short half hour drive, and there are a bunch of great spots to visit on the island as well.Highly recommend!

This home was perfect for our family vacation! The location was great, offering easy access to both the bike trail and the beautiful lakefront. When it was time to unwind, we were spoiled with choices of the lovely porch swing, the back deck, the spacious fenced backyard, or the relaxing hot tub.The house itself is incredibly charming and well laid out. It provided more than enough room for us and our three adult children (plus one partner): everyone had their own space to relax without ever feeling confined. We also enjoyed coming together nightly to enjoy cozy dinners around the lovely kitchen island. The home was well-stocked and fully equipped for our needs—it was even a nice bonus to find a well-stocked spice drawer and a second fridge. We truly felt right at home and didn't find ourselves lacking for anything. We also loved the local area! We had a fantastic time visiting the nearby Snow Farm Vineyard (thanks for the wonderful suggestion!), as well as an excursion to Waterbury to visit Ben & Jerry’s, Cabot, and Lake Champlain Chocolates. Walking and biking along the nearby Causeway was also fun and the lake views were spectacular.Regarding the hot water for showers, it simply takes a little while to warm up, which actually served as a great reminder for us to slow down and embrace the relaxed pace of vacation. We had such a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for the perfect Lake Champlain Island getaway!

Lovely home and area. The house has great space and fit our family really well. The kitchen if fully loaded and has everything you could need. Each bedroom has ample room and comfortable beds. We didn't take advantage of the outside tiki bar - too buggy time of year. The bike path was an awesome walk every morning - couldn't ask for a more lovely area for walks. This time of year (summer) it's very very buggy so something to be aware of when using the AC units as that's where they come in (assuming since all windows and doors were always closed). We had a lovely welcome and amenity when we arrived - very thoughtful host.

Exceeded expectations

I booked this location because we needed a large space for a family gathering celebrating my son’s graduation and my grandson second year birthday. Unfortunately, the weather was in great so we could not use the wonderful outdoor space this location offered, but the space inside easily accommodated our gathering of 12 people. The fully furnished kitchen made it easy to prepare the food for our group. The comfortable accommodations were appreciated by all.The host could not be better! They were thoughtful with great communication. This location is ideal for anybody want to visit the greater Burlington area and especially enjoy the fantastic bike trails. We plan to stay here again and use this as our base for a bike trip with friends. The ability to come home and have such a wonderful outdoor space with a hot tub in a view of Lake Champlain makes this place very special. We have rented many homes of the years and I would have to say this was one of our best experiences overall. Highly recommended.

This house has a lot of potential and our family enjoyed our stay. It is very close (right around the corner) from the bike path which was very convenient. There is also a shared beach a very short 2-3minute walk from the house which my children very much enjoyed! The town of South Hero is also very cute and within biking distance. We biked for breakfast every morning which was a highlight for us all. The house itself has 4 spacious bedrooms and a nice kitchen that is well stocked, however the cleanliness of the house was a concern for us. Upon arrival, we toured the house and noticed a wet bag of trash left behind the bar area which has not been cleaned in some time. Additionally, dirty dishes from the previous tenants were still in the dishwasher and never washed or put away. You also cannot drink the tap water which I am unsure as to why. The owner does leave a case of water bottles which was helpful! I did share with the owner about the trash, dirty dishes and overall cleanliness of the house and they were very receptive and assured they would address with the cleaning crew so I am hopeful this will be improved in the future. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Hi Erin. I’m sorry I didn’t expand on the water issue, however your stay coincided with an unusually dry period in Vermont and many towns had a water ban and the draught can affect individual well performance so because of that I suggested not drinking the tap water and therefore wanted to provide some for you. The bar is something I don’t put in photos and advertise because it does need some repair, which I am waiting on so therefore is not on the cleaning list. Some people, however do choose to use it on their own, which is where the trash came from. The dishwasher was simply the cleaning person forgot to hit the wash button after she loaded. Sorry for those items but I can assure you the cleanliness of the house is not an issue. Thank you again for your stay.

House was very nice however not the best place for small children. There are no railings on the decks except for the deck on the second floor. The stairways only had a railing and the opposite wall was open. The backyard was pretty much flooded when we were there, they did say that there was a lot of water sometimes in the spring however, the kids could not enjoy the yard due to it being a huge puddle. The beach was disappointing as well there was no beach per se, only a rocky entrance to the lake. The house was about 3 miles from sandbar State Park, which was very nice. It was a very nice house, however just did not fit our circumstance.
