We’re Don and Tammy Murphy, your hosts. In 2021, we fell in love with this charming (run down) property and began a four-year renovation journey to restore the original 1947 home and transform the surrounding wooded acreage into a scenic, sunset-filled escape.

It’s been a true labor of love, and we were thrilled to begin welcoming guests in May 2025. We’ve poured our hearts into every detail to create a peaceful, cozy, and well-appointed getaway for families, couples, and friends alike.

We hope you enjoy the tranquility, natural beauty, and thoughtful touches throughout the home, and that your stay here becomes one to remember.

Overall a very positive experience. The property matched the description quite well. We truly enjoyed sitting near lake watching wildlife. My daughter paddle boarded two mornings around the entire lake. Loved seeing the beaver dam and all the birds. Really liked the feeling of being out in the country, but also appreciated being close enough to everything if we wanted. Thanks for the stay!

This was one of the best VRBO stays I've ever had. Don was extremely responsive and flexible. The house was hands-down the cleanest inside that I've ever rented. The beds were very comfortable and the house size and layout were great for our group. We would love to book again.

Overall a great weekend! The house was great and Don communicated very clearly and made sure we had what we needed. Only note for future folks is that Google Maps directs you past the driveway to the path down to the water, keep an eye out when you are close to make sure you turn at the right spot. Relaxing lakefront staycation!

We had a lovely relaxing stay at Don and Tammy's home. It was spacious, well maintained and perfectly equipped, and a short walk to the lake. We enjoyed a bit of kayaking, grilling and even sat in the pretty lighted gazebo enjoying the night sky. The hosts were very communicative and took great care of our needs. Great place to spend quality time with family and friends!
