Sky Haven Retreat by the Pacific

Bring the whole family to this newly renovated beautiful home! Centrally located to everything Southern California has to offer, this home is literally minutes from the beach and Legoland, a short drive to San Diego and about an hour from Disneyland, making it the perfect place for families. The backyard is quiet and equipped with a large patio and a side yard perfect for bocce ball, corn hole, or just running around.

This fairly large home has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom upstairs and the master bedroom and 1 bathroom downstairs. There is an enclosed front courtyard, a big paved backyard and a side yard with artificial turf. In addition, there is a propane fire pit with additional seating. The home is great for a big family or 2 families to enjoy a vacation in Oceanside/Carlsbad.

We loved our stay & didn't want to leave Plenty of room & fun things for my teen granddaughters & 7 yr old grandson. We will be back!

The house was adequate. It was a good location- close to stores and ocean/legoland/etc. Half of the lights weren't working. The host was slow to respond/follow up when we were locked out due to dead lock batteries. Everything is very basic. There are no toiletries besides soap provided, and the toilet paper and paper towels ran out (no extras provided, one the roll was gone it was gone) and we had to provide our own after that (the host did say she would talk to the cleaning company about that). The listing says sleeps 10, but two of those spots are on the couches. The kitchen has some spices etc. which was nice, dishes wise and supplies wise it's very basic, with no extras of silverware, children friendly dishes etc. It met our needs, but probably not one we would return to. Also- tall people beware- low ceilings and ceiling fans in the upstairs bedrooms- wont hit your head, but don't stretch...

The house was clean, for the most part (emphasis on this) and had more than enough room for all 6 of us. WiFi was good and had great speed. Decent overall but some glaring issues that made the experience far worse than a good experience.Multiple lights did not work, including a ceiling fan that seemingly had no power switch to be found. Opening windows was enough to keep us cool in the moderate weather, but any hotter would have been torture without any AC. Not to mention, some windows had holes in the screens. Then we found out one bed had some kind of bug that bit one of us each night. I'm not sure if this was a cleaning issue from the previous tenant or not, but thats very concerning. Lastly, the host's communication was practically non-existent. Do not expect answers from the host at all, much less in a timely manner. All you get are check-in instructions and check-out instructions. Maybe a bad weekend and we caught the short end of the stick, but this was far from satisfactory.

Overall, we were not super impressed with this property. It is not well maintained, the yards both in front and back are full of weeds and just did not look like the pictures. The garage is in a state of complete disarray. The rooms were well decorated but the master bedroom bed was awful, so lumpy and uncomfortable. Very minimal supplies as far as dishes and cookware. There was no extra toilet paper or paper towels, which was very disappointing when we’re staying for almost a week. They request guests wash the towels prior to check out, but do not provide any soap for the laundry to do so. The washer was actually broken. It took them a few days to fix it or bring in a new one. The owners are very communicative, but this was extremely inconvenient. There is a grill that barely works. You cannot light it with the starter. You have to use a lighter which almost blew up my arm. The fire pit also does not work unless manually lit with a lighter. The beach gear that is in the garage looks nothing like the pictures. It is all very much worn broken or not able to use at all.Whoever is maintaining this property is not doing a very good job. This house does get pretty warm inside, some of the ceiling fans work some don’t, super inconsistent. The master bedroom fan was broken and stuck at one speed. It’s also advertised there is soap which appeared to be random bottles leftover from past guests one bathroom had only conditioner no body wash, while the other had shampoo.
