Spring is on the doorstep of the River House Retreat and March and April are great times to enjoy everything that this property has to offer. The Pool opens the first week of April and although water temperatures are chilly you can still enjoy lounging around on sunny days, soak up some sun, play all the outdoor games and take advantage of the amenities the retreat offers. Kayaks, Canoe, paddle boards, Bucket golf, and many other lawn games to keep you entertained while cooking in the outdoor kitchen and hanging around the firepit. Come shake of the winter blues and get your summer jumpstart with a stay at your mini private resort. You must experience this perfect retreat property during the Spring and Summer months. Wake up to beautiful vistas just outside your window, where the natural beauty of the Bird River and its abundant wildlife sets the stage for every day. Ample sunlight fills the living spaces, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout. Inside, you can relax in cool comfort in the living area with full glass windows across to enjoy the water views or watch your favorite show/movie on the large screen TV. The fully equipped kitchen is ready for enjoying some great meals. Dining room and 1/2 bath also located downstairs. Upstairs features 2 bedrooms one with a king and the other a queen bed, 1 large bathroom with walk-in shower and separate tub. All bed linens and bath towels are included. The property has available for our rental guest’s use only an inground pool and plenty of pool floats. A kayak, canoe and 2 paddle boards to explore the river at your own pace. The outdoor kitchen is stocked with propane and charcoal for immediate grilling ,a large fire pit full of firewood for burning that serves as a centerpiece for gathering, roasting marshmallows, or simply soaking in the serene atmosphere. Whether you prefer relaxing indoors or embracing the outdoors, this rental offers the best of both worlds for a memorable getaway. Everything you need to enjoy your indoor and outdoor stay is included with amazing scenery. Reserve your stay at this fantastic property!! Sheila was very amenable to our every need. The property was spotless, and in excellent condition. Every possible need was met to make our stay memorable and enjoyable; from sunscreen to a baitfish net and pail, to lawn games, firewood and snacks. This is one of the most memorable weekends my wife and I have had in years!!!

The host gave so much warm hospitality. It was amazing, we were there for our 30th anniversary and she welcomed us like we were best friends, which would be so easy to be. She had balloons, snacks, etc. enjoyed the Poole, the river, the views. I definitely will go back. It’s a special place for us now.

Property is clean and very well appointed. Anything and everything you might need is there down to extra toothbrushes and toothpaste. Kitchen has everything you need and more. ! Outside is setup for grilling and has all the tools. Great place to vacation!

A lovely guest home with an even better view! We enjoyed the pool, fishing, bird watching (bald eagles!) and even a bonus powerful storm from mother nature! The special touches from Sheila were so thoughtful and appreciated. We got to enjoy a weekend of resting and relaxation- the perfect getaway! Very quiet and relaxing getaway with great views. The host was beyond accommodating and very responsive. Very nice greeting when we walked in with plenty of snacks, fresh muffins and a cooled bottle of wine. Everything you could possibly need was supplied down to new toothbrushes! Awesome bath towels, comfortable beds and couch/chairs, big clean pool with nice deep end. Tons of pool floats, rafts and amazing sunbathing chairs with umbrellas and again... tons of really nice pool towels. An overall great experience and we will return. You simply won't find a better host!

This guest house is amazing! The host has everything you could need, both inside the house and on the lawn. She also helped us find a place to get crabs to cook outback. We went for my birthday, and the host even decorated. It made the stay feel even more personalized. The property was stunning, and we plan on returning. We had so much fun!

Beautiful outdoor area . It was too cold for the pool but we enjoyed the outdoor grilling area and the view was beautiful. Wildlife entertained us all week in the yard!

The view of the river was excellent. The inside was clean. The view of the river from the main bedroom upstairs was great. The house had everything we needed. Outdoor space was very nice although the weather was rainy the weekend we went. We would love to go back so we could use the pool, paddle boards and fire pit. Communication with Sheila the host was excellent. It felt very private.

We loved staying here and would definitely stay here again. The house has everything you need and then some. This property lives up to it consistent 10 rating. Extra nice touches leaving snacks and smores ingredients. I want to come back to enjoy more of the outdoor activities, but we enjoyed relaxing and water the birds.

This is a wonderful place to stay: one half of a spacious, beautifully maintained two-story house overlooking a lovely lake. The views are stunning, and the house is exceptionally comfortable, welcoming, and thoughtfully equipped.Sheila, the host, is incredibly generous and attentive. She has thought of absolutely everything a guest might need, and much more. The kitchen is fully equipped and generously stocked with food and all sorts of essentials. The bathrooms are equally well supplied, with soaps, toothpaste, mouthwash, and every imaginable amenity.The living room opens onto the lake and a beautiful backyard, where you can sit and enjoy the view or have a barbecue, with everything you need already provided. On a sunny day, it is a truly wonderful setting to relax, enjoy the greenery, and appreciate the peaceful natural surroundings.There are two very comfortable bedrooms, the larger of which offers the same gorgeous lake view as the living room. Upstairs, there is a spacious, exceptionally well-equipped bathroom serving both bedrooms, while a second, smaller bathroom is conveniently located near the living room and kitchen.Everything is spotless, beautifully maintained, and perfectly climate-controlled. The attention to detail is remarkable, and Sheila's generosity makes the experience even more special.It is difficult to imagine a more comfortable and enjoyable stay, or a more thoughtful and welcoming host. I couldn't recommend this place more highly.

Shelia was truly the hostess with the mostest! Her communication was excellent, and she quickly answered every question we had. The property is beautiful, the pool was perfect, and her thoughtful extras made our stay unforgettable.She welcomed us with fresh made muffins, snacks, smore's kit, wine and provided everything we could possibly need—from fully stocked coffee and tea bars to sheets, towels, toiletries, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. The outdoor area had lounge chairs, picnic tables, bar area, a swing, binoculars for wildlife watching, a canoe, paddleboards, fishing equipment, yard games, grills, firewood, and s’mores sticks. The kitchen was also fully stocked. Pool floats and googles and toys were also provided. You truly only need to bring clothes and food—if you want to cook! Uber Eats found us with no problem because I don’t cook on vacation…LOL!The primary bed felt like sleeping on a cloud, and the view of the yard, river, and wildlife was unforgettable. The second bedroom was also great, and the gorgeous bathroom had both a tub and a separate shower. We loved meeting Auggie, the adorable chocolate Lab! We never heard Shelia, her husband, or Auggie, so it felt like we had the property to ourselves. We highly recommend this peaceful getaway and plan to return for a longer stay!10 out of 10!!!!
