This freshly remodeled bungalow is tucked in a charming historic neighborhood in Des Moines—just steps from restaurants, shops, and local amenities. With 2 bedrooms (one queen, two twins), a full bath with tub, and thoughtful extras like a hair dryer, it’s the perfect cozy retreat. We’re just a message away if you need anything during your stay!

While we truly enjoy hosting families (we have four children ourselves), our home is not suitable for guests under 14 years of age. Additionally, please note that the maximum occupancy for overnight guests is four people. We kindly ask that you adhere to these requirements; failure to do so will require us to contact you immediately.

Lovely home in a quiet residential neighborhood. The house was perfect for our stay. Very clean and updated with great decor and thoughtful touches including coffee, spices, paper products and more. Plenty of blankets and Towels which was very appreciated. Owner let us extend our check out and was wonderful to work with. Would stay here again.

Magical little cottage in the city

We stayed for a week and had such a wonderful time. The home is beautiful, clean, comfortable, and the photos are a perfect description. While we were there we saw fireflies, an owl, bunnies, a doe and fawn, chipmunks, squirrels, cardnials, and many others birds. The neighborhood is quiet and beautiful. We absolutely would stay here again.

Exceptionally clean! Quiet neighborhood and nice kitchen appliances. Wish there was a toaster, but it was not listed as having one.We ended up sleeping on the two single beds because the queen is against the wall and too difficult to get out of bed in the middle of the night for us.

Classy & Quiet

My daughter and I stayed in this home while we were in town for a conference. The location is wonderful! Quiet, beautiful neighborhood with kind neighbors! Very easy to find and access. But even better is the inside of the home! Obviously newly remodeled, very modern, and homey. Lots of thoughtful extras in every room and the decor was top notch! The house is incredibly clean and comfy. Communication with the owners was also fast and pleasant. We enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend to anyone!

We are disappointed by this review and feel it does not accurately reflect the situation. Our listing clearly states that we have a strict no-smoking policy, which is in place to protect the property and ensure a clean environment for future guests. Unfortunately, Keena repeatedly smoked at the property despite this rule. After addressing the issue, we had no choice but to ask her and her husband to leave due to the violation of our house policies. We understand that being asked to leave was upsetting; however, enforcing clearly stated rules is necessary to maintain the standards of our home. This review appears to be a reaction to that enforcement rather than a reflection of the stay itself.

The neighborhood is so charming and walkable that we couldn’t resist turning it into a furnished getaway. We live just 30 minutes away and love staying here ourselves from time to time.
