Michelle and her family were absolutely amazing hosts, they made us feel so welcome on the property and had us help ourselves to fresh chicken eggs and vegetables from the garden. We were able to check in early which was very kind and we really appreciated. This location was ideally situated as an easy 10-20 min drive to Ithaca and all of the state parks but also felt peaceful and out in the country. We loved the firepit, Adirondack chairs and picnic table out back to be able to watch gorgeous sunsets and stargaze at night. 10/10 would stay again!

Unplug, relax, and connect. We enjoy the hiking in the area, along with the creativity in the Ithaca area. The Octogan experience complimented our travels perfectly. The evenings were spent watching the sunset, enjoying the bird sounds, and watching to fireflies light up the night. The host was available for any question. Was a wonderful time.

Perfect launchpad for exploring!

The octagon is a perfect place to stay to explore the entire Ithaca area. I hiked every day, went kayaking on Seneca Lake, and ate in downtown Ithaca every night. The place is so peaceful and relaxing. I enjoyed the clawfoot tub after my hikes too!

This is a beautiful quiet location next to a wildflower field and nature preserve with challenging hikes. It is a one-room octagonal building with privacy for the toilet. The description is accurate: a cozy, artistic retreat.

Amazing

Best way to describe our stay was amazing! Michelle was wonderful to meet and full of knowledge! The property was so peaceful and calming. It was a short drive into Ithaca and truly the center of all the places we visited. I would highly recommend this property and Michelle!!

Yurt Stay

Never stayed in a yurt before and decided to give it a try. Loved it, discovered that I enjoyed open tiny house living. Host Michelle was accommodating. The views were heavenly. Will definitely go back :)

Relaxing get away close to fun

The octagon cottage was perfect for a long weekend. It is very private and the wildflower loop was beautiful. Butterflies were in full force and gorgeous. We took a trip to Buttermilk Falls, less than 15 minutes away, and spent time in Ithaca at the Commons,. Odyssey Bookstore, and Mama Said Hand Pies. The rest of the time was spent relaxing at the cottage. It was a great way to recharge.

Fabulous relaxing retreat

My husband, our young Golden Retriever mix doggie and I so enjoyed staying at the Octagon for 4 nights. We walked in the nearby woods, ate breakfast at the picnic table and enjoyed the simple but well-appointed house. Loved the bathtub and the excellent bed! Michelle was very friendly and we appreciated the use of WD40 for our bike! We spent time in Ithaca hiking, biking and going to the amazing farmer's market and restaurants. Hope to be back again!
