"Shore's Fun" est situé à Silver Beach, une charmante petite communauté de chalets située dans la baie de Chesapeake, établie il y a des années lorsque la vie évoluait à un rythme plus lent. On peut facilement retrouver la relaxation des temps anciens tout en se balançant doucement sur le vieux balancier du porche et en regardant la majestueuse baie de Chesapeake. Reconnectez-vous et passez du bon temps avec votre famille, loin des interruptions quotidiennes des ordinateurs, des téléviseurs, des sonnettes et d'engagements sans fin. Venez profiter des merveilles que Silver Beach a à offrir: lucioles, colibris, papillons, oiseaux bleus, étoiles brillantes, jeux de société, magnifiques couchers de soleil, brises salées, sable chaud, vagues douces, gens sympathiques et jours tranquilles.

"Shore's Fun" donne directement sur une cour ouverte de la baie de Chesapeake et se trouve à quelques pas de la plage de notre communauté et de la jetée de quartier. Passez un aprÚs-midi délicieux sur le quai à attraper des crabes et du poisson, puis faites griller le coucher de soleil spectaculaire avec une bouteille de vin réfrigéré avant de préparer vos prises fraßches.

Le chalet climatisé est conçu pour une visite de détente. Il est équipé d'un mobilier et de lits confortables, d'un porche avec moustiquaire, d'une cour arriÚre ombragée, d'une table de pique-nique et d'un gril à gaz. Il y a deux chambres. Une chambre s'ouvre sur le porche avec moustiquaire et contient un lit queen-size et un lit simple. L'autre chambre a un lit queen. En outre, il y a un canapé-lit queen-size dans la salle familiale. La cuisine et la salle à manger, séparées par un bar, donnent sur une terrasse qui communique avec le porche grillagé.

Shoresfun

Cute little cottage located on the Chesapeake Bay , beaches and state parks are all over! It's about an hour and a half from Virginia beach , ocean city Maryland and Chincoteague and assateague islands which I recommend everyone checking out ! We would love stay again !

Another Great Stay

This is a great place to vacation with kids. We were at the beach every day. We paddled, rode our bikes, took long walks, and swam-- all while feeling very safe. The cottage is comfortable and the AC is strong. Joan has provided everything you need to prepare meals while staying at Silver Beach. This was our 2nd time staying there, we were so happy to return.

I lived on the shore for three summers when I was in college so I found this cottage a pleasant reminder of those long gone days. Plus a great introduction for my grandson to a quiet relaxing interlude after a stress filled school year.

Quaint cottage

Joan is amazing and always accommodating. Unfortunately I should’ve done my homework regarding amenities. Totally my fault for not reading that there is no TV or dishwasher or laundry facilities and I didn’t realize it was far from an event I had planned to attend but super quiet beautiful sunsets everyone super friendly in the neighborhood and very, very peaceful. Great place just too rustic for me and far from restaurants, grocery stores etc

Relaxing Getaway

We wanted a quiet, relaxing getaway during the off season and we got it in Shore's Fun. We were able to spend our days exploring state parks, nature preserves, and wildlife refuges and our afternoons and evenings relaxing on the screened in porch while listening to the waves. The sunsets were amazing. The owners are very communicative and checked in with us throughout the week to make sure we had everything we needed. Our dog was welcome and even he seemed to have a relaxing time!

The Perfect Getaway

Our stay at this cozy little cottage was just wonderful. It was clean, welcoming, tastefully decorated and well equipped for all our basic needs. It’s proximity to the small private beach allowed me to be lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves, and was the perfect swimming spot for our Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Joan was a wonderful host, very warm and hospitable, going the extra mile to assure we were comfortable. We can’t wait to get back again!

Great cottage for some R & R and waterside fun

Our family enjoyed the quaint cottage, situated at Silver Beach and close to the water's edge. The property owners were very welcoming and friendly. The small touches in the cottage such as bottled water, ice and fresh daffodils were appreciated. The front porch was a nice place for relaxing and we enjoyed kayaking and canoeing in the nearby creek/bay as well as biking around the Silver Beach community. The neighbors were friendly too!

lovely cottage near a beautiful little beach front

My wife and I and our very shy dog spent three nights at this lovely cottage. If you want to relax and unplug this is the place for you. The cottage and the surroundings are just beautiful. It's a one-minute walk to a beautiful little beach front. The cottage has everything you need. The Bryans has done a fantastic job in decorating and keeping up this place in tip top shape and its clean. We absolutely recommend it for your vacation stay, you will love it.

Super relaxing cottage..

Located in a small community with water views and a small private beach across the street. This cottage was comfortable and tastefully decorated. Two comfortable bedrooms, nice size well-stocked kitchen with dining area and ample/ comfortable seating in the living room. The screened-in porch was a wonderful place to sit and relax. My family and I appreciate the hospitality extended to us by Joan and George. Thanks!

What a beautiful cottage.

We stayed a few week nights in June. It was a perfect beach cottage - about a 30 second walk to the beach, and open and breezy, with water views on the porch and in the kitchen. We came with 3 girls - they loved the beach, catching crabs, and the hummingbirds. Cabin was very well stocked in the kitchen, and with some beach gear. If you're looking for a beach cottage getaway - this is it. Joan is a great host - so nice, and attentive. Water was clear and warm.

Great long weekend at Silver Beach

The cottage is very cute and comfortable and has nice views of the bay. Joan and George and all the neighbors were lovely. Our dog had a great time playing on the little beach that was a few seconds walk from the cottage door. The area around Silver Beach is remote (no cell service, a little bit of a drive to the grocery store) but the town of Cape Charles is a short drive away if you are looking for shops, restaurants, etc. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway then this is the place for you.

Simply Adorable, Highly Recommended!

October 2023 - My husband and I had one of the BEST vacations at this cottage in Virginia. The cottage is the cutest shore house and 50 steps from the front door to the water front. My husband was able to kayak the bay several times during our stay there. I was able to paint, read and relax on the front porch with our pet schnauzer. The location is about 25 minutes from Cape Charles, a lovely little town with a beautiful white sand beach and great ice cream! The cottage is also close to the town of Exmore where there is a Walmart and Food Lion. The price point is perfect and well worth the stay. Joan was an amazing host and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Such a treasure we found, and hope to return soon.

Delightful Summer Cottage!

We had the best week at Shore’s Fun. It was a wonderful place to stay and have a true summer experience. The cottage was very clean and comfortable with plenty of space. Loved the screened door and the screened in porch. The porch had a great view and was a nice place to read a book. The little beach was a short walk and very accessible. You can even hear the waves when you’re falling asleep at night. Dolphins swam past on our last morning. The neighborhood was very friendly and we were sad to leave. It’s a special place. It was also fairly easy to get around to other places in the area. Our host was fabulous and we just loved her. Communication was easy and check-in was a breeze. Thank you for having us!

Adorable cottage

We had a terrific stay. Joan was a great host and checked in several times, with great communication throughout the booking, lead-up, and during the stay as well. Everything was exactly as advertised and met expectations completely. We were off-season, which we like, and while we had business in the area we enjoyed our limited time in the cottage and had the Silver Beach area nearly to ourselves. It's a fun, campy sort of throwback community that we enjoyed in its quietness. (Probably not as quiet during the season.) New heat pumps worked well for us for air conditioning the first day, in the 70s, and then for the rest of the stay, when the temperature dropped into the 30s or even high 20s at night several times. Joan brought us an extra blanket the first day it turned cold, which was appreciated. Cottage has everything we needed and was comfortable for two of us and two goldens. Thank you!

Isolated And Relaxing

Our little family has been extra cautious during COVID, so this was our first trip away from home in a long time. And wow did Silver Beach and Joan make it feel like a relaxing home away from home! The neighborhood was small and remote, so don't expect to pop out to the store all the time, but really, with the small tidal beach and cozy cabin that had perfect views of the sunrise and sunset and a wonderful porch swing to relax in, who needed stores? We spent every day out on the bay, kayaking with a rental dropped off by Southeast Expeditions, swimming in the gentle waves, and making sand mud-pies with our youngest. The kitchen was small, but we made some great meals in it all the same, and at night we snuggled in, cool despite the heat due to the excellent window A/Cs. Wish we could have stayed longer, but even our short trip was balm for the soul. Joan was very helpful, checking in regularly and making sure we had everything we could need. The neighbors were friendly and respectful of our desires to keep the kids socially distanced. Wonderful experience!

An Enchanting Get-Away

I stayed here with my mom and two sons for a spring break get-away. The pictures do not do justice for “Shore’s Fun” as there is wonderfully high ceiling and a beautiful charm. The beds and furniture were comfy and there was adequate blankets (Joan even dropped off an extra heavier blanket as we stayed when night temps were still cooler!) The cottage is tastefully decorated and provided just what I look for in a vacation - I was comfortable, had my essential needs met, and it was a charm to just sit on the sofa in the morning and admire the charming space and see the bay through the window. Our kids enjoyed it and they especially loved the sandy back yard and the bit of Silver Beach available to play on. It was nice to have it so close for early morning sand and water play! We were 30 minutes from Cape Charles for adventure and Food Lion was about 15 minutes away in Exmore for quick runs. The appliances in the cottage were clean and functioned well and fit the aesthetic. Bottled water is recommended for drinking. Working with Joan for our stay was a delight. We enjoyed meeting the neighbors and walking in the neighborhood. I hope to come back again for another charming get away to my new favorite place, the Eastern Shore! I think you’ll find the rustic charm of “Shore’s Away” a great way to experience the bay!

Exceeding expectations

Joan and her husband George are great hosts. Linens and towels plentiful and clean. Morning coffee on the porch is beyond relaxing. We will be back! Off the beaten path and worth it.

My parents had a cottage at Silver Beach when I was growing up and visiting there was the highlight of my summer. I remember lying in bed in the morning and hearing the gentle waves breaking on the beach, and the delicious smells of fire roasted marshmallows and hot dogs.

Shortly after we were married, my husband and I rented a cottage at Silver Beach. We fell in love with the people and the area and luckily discovered a cottage for sale. We bought it that week, and sealed the deal with a handshake. As the years passed, our children spent long, relaxing, wonderful days growing up at Silver Beach during summer vacations. All of us felt sad when it was time to leave the cottage in the fall and resume our normal lives.

As our family grew, we bought a second cottage at Silver Beach and our fondest memories have taken place there. Today, our adult children bring their little ones and friends to the cottages, and the traditions continue.
