Garden studio oasis in historic home with free laundry

Welcome to the Garden Suite at Eldritch House.

The suite features a private entrance to the almost 500 square foot studio, which features a queen size bed, a workspace with a garden view, and your bathroom, laundry, and kitchen up a short flight of stairs.

Located in the Heritage District, Eldritch House is conveniently located 10 minutes from Six Flags, Kaiser, and Sutter hospitals, 30 minutes from Oakland, Berkeley, and Napa, and about an hour from Sacramento (driving) or San Francisco (driving or ferry).

The Garden Suite is a private unit attached to Eldritch House with its own bedroom, full bathroom, and kitchenette. The unit gets lots of light, with French doors opening into the deck and a skylight in the bedroom.

The bedroom has a queen size bed, as well as two full size folding foam mattresses (perfect for kids!).

The kitchen has an induction cooktop, microwave, toaster oven, and mini fridge, as well as a coffee maker and electric kettle. We provide coffee and tea. You're also welcome to use the propane grill on the patio.

The Garden Suite is the perfect spot for a work trip. We provide high speed internet and a desk overlooking the garden. It's conveniently located near several area hospitals, making this a great spot for travel nurses.

Eldritch House is a grand dame of a house, built in 1898. She sits at the base of the historic Capitol Street steps in Vallejo, a few blocks from vibrant downtown Vallejo. Enjoy fresh produce from the Farmer's Market every Saturday morning, dine at a Micheline restaurant, or check out local artisanal shops such as Anchor Pantry. If you'd like to explore all that the Bay has to offer, Vallejo is a great base camp for day trips to wine country, the Santa Cruz boardwalk, John Muir Redwoods, San Francisco Giants and Oakland A's stadiums, and more.

The Garden Suite is private for you and your guests, although access is limited to the people listed on the reservation. You are invited to enjoy the shared backyard space, which includes two decks, a grassy area, and a patio with a propane grill. I live on the property, along with my 11 year old, so I'm able to respond to most questions or issues with the unit very quickly. You might see us in the yard or hear us making meals, as the garden suite shares a wall with our kitchen.

Please note that the house is not accessible. There is a flight of 25 stairs from the street to the house, and 12 stairs from the bedroom to the bathroom.

The room gets early morning light from the skylight and windows. I provide blackout curtains for the windows in the bedroom, and an individually wrapped sleep mask and ear plugs. The house is located in an urban area, and there may be noise from traffic, emergency vehicles, or occasional fireworks. The room shares a wall with the main house. If you are exceptionally light or noise sensitive, this may not be a good fit for you. There is an outdoor cat who is very friendly and affectionate, and loves to get all the scritches.
