Carolyn and family were great guest. They we're friendly, courteous, and always happy. The house and ammenites were well taken care of. With this said we would love to see them back again and highly recommend them to other host. Thanks Mike.

I used to give a damn about VRBO reviews. Not anymore!!!!!!!!!!!! Even with this review I am still almost entirely FIVE stars. First, this is MY HOME that I sometimes a rent to responsible guest who will treat it well. It is not a surf shake that you come and trash. There are collectables from all over the world and displays for guest to enjoy. It is kept EMACULATELY. Ken is a little man that feels he can throw his limited funds around, bully, and destroy things. I was going to go point by point on his lies. But I have the pictures and damage receipts to prove what he is saying is false. They were pigs that thought they bought my home by the ocean and could do anything they wanted to it. Ironically Ken raised a red flag before his stay. He said he wasn’t going back to last year’s place because “the owner was around too much”. What was he hiding? VRBO actually told me I should cancel his booking. I got a rental agreement from Ken and decided to give them a chance. A lesson learned. One agreement rule states no interference with maintenance. Did he think the house and gardens were going to take care of themselves for two months? One month into their stay they had not watered the house plants and they were almost dead. They complained about fruit flies and blamed the plants. My exterminator quickly cleared up that untruth. Fruit flies do not come from plants. They come from the fruit and the garbage they left around. One lies that needs special attention is that I came in without permission. I NEVER SHOWED UP or came in without giving a heads up. As for getting his permission, THIS IS MY HOME and I do not need his permission. If there is any question about the home being taken care of, I will investigate. If I find violations of the rental agreement it can result in immediate removal from the property. He should have been thrown out at week two. Conclusion! I bent over backwards to make their stay great. But they were filthy, and inconsiderate. I have the pictures. I don’t know if they believe what they have written here or just don’t want to pay the $300 I charged in damages. I have pictures of yard furniture left everywhere, rugs stained, unwashed container thrown in any cabinet, sand on all surfaces, sand in silverware drawls? ,sand on the unwashed counter, NOTHING put away, water running through the ceiling from overflows upstairs, and much much more. Pam actually left a pile of jewelry on the countertop. This is cleaning before they left? For over 6 months VRBO has not returned my emails or calls about some hosting problems. Within days of me getting the couples security deposit (which VRBO disperses) I get two threatening emails. VRBO; Hi J Michael, We hope this email finds you well and in good health. We would like to make a follow up about a serious complaint filed by your recent guest about their deposit being claimed and would like to request for your immediate response before 4/6/22 or we will be forced to suspend your listing in compliance to VRBO terms and policy for advertisement. Two take aways. Don’t rent to these people. And consider carefully if you’re going to rent through VRBO. They do not protect their host!!!!!!! Mike
