David and Julia have owned their home in Qualicum Beach for ten years, but rent it out during the winter months so they can do volunteer work abroad. David and Julia spend the winters volunteering for an animal rescue group on the island of Antigua, and rent out their home in Canada so they can continue their work down South.
This is an older neighbourhood where the houses are not close together or all look the same. The area is quiet, with very little through traffic - it's home to a mix of retired folks and younger families. It's lovely to see people walk by with their dogs and small children. It is a safe place where people feel comfortable and say hi to one another when they meet.
Our home backs onto a beautiful community forest which makes the back yard private and serene. The house is bright and cozy, and is very comfortable for two people to live, work and play. The house has just two steps leading into the front door and the rest is on all one level.
