cozy, well-appointed, surprisingly roomy, very clean and the beach is just across the street!

Grateful for a cozy, roomy home to stay in while my family celebrating the life of my beloved father. We loved walking the beach in between the intensity of family gatherings. We enjoyed cooking breakfast in the well-appointed kitchen. It was great to have a little store just a few doors down (though it was not open Sat-Sun). Beds were comfortable and everything very well maintained. Thanks for everything! In the flurry of activity, I apologize that I did not notice the 10 am check out time on Sunday. For an off season weekend rental, 10 am seemed too early to check out. We were gone by 11 am - which was the time we thought check out was - which felt reasonable. But I am truly sorry for not communicating with you about it and making an assumption about the check out time!

It was cold outside but the house was warm

A little bit of a funky setup but certainly adequate for the 3 of us. Very clean and easily accessible from surrounding areas.

Vacation with Sisters

This was a great property in a great location. The host was very helpful and responsive. It is easy to get to Portland and several beach towns from the rental. We visited in the fall - weather was excellent and the people were friendly.

Cozy Beachside Home

Jake & Wendy's home is the perfect place to stay for your Maine visit. Less than a 5 minute walk to a spectacular public beach and with bike rentals nearby to take down to the boardwalk/pier. The drive into Portland is fairly easy as well (less than 20 minutes). The home itself is great for close friends with both front and back sitting areas, we slept 7 comfortably. Jake and Wendy were super quick to respond to any questions and we hope to visit again soon! The store two houses down is a great plus for food and drinks, we went there at least once a day.

Great vacation

This property is amazing! Directly across the street and 160 steps down Oak is the access to the beach! The house itself is wonderful, fully stocked so you really only need your personal things. The deli 2 doors down is very convenient and there are a couple of restaurants within walking distance. We would highly recommend staying here!

Conveniently located beach cottage

Three of us met here for a girls fall weekend & we had a lovely time. The owners were easy to reach & very responsive. They sent “welcome” information about the house about a week before our rental time & they were quick to answer all of our questions. Portland was only a short 15-20 drive away & it was nice to return to the quiet & calm of the cottage at days end. The cottage is conveniently located just a very short walk from the beach. Technically it sleeps 8-10, but would be quite tight with that amount of people. Two of the bedrooms have a small chest of drawers and only one bedroom has a closet. That being said, the beds that the 3 of us slept in were VERY comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked but the pots & pans are in need of updating. It would have been nice to know that the basement laundry area is used by others in the complex tho it was never an issue. The door to the upstairs was secure so we never felt unsafe and the basement was only accessed during the day. I would definitely recommend this rental & would consider returning in the future.

perfect house and location for our family week in Maine

Loved the house and its location. The owners are a caring couple who are working hard to make this a perfect vacation rental. It is an old house with plenty of memories and will need some modernizing, which is in the works, what old beach house doesn't? We had a great time, thanks.

Nice, clean little beach house in a great location.

We stayed here two nights while we traveled down the coast from there. Being from the south, it is strange to be at the beach and not swim or wade, but it’s absolutely beautiful!
