We didnt bring our fur baby but it is pet friendly. Very cute and comfortable setup. Right by a beautiful river. We spent a day in Durango Colorado and rented a boat for 8 hours at the navajo lake. Very nice stay and will come back if im ever in the area.
My husband and I are from Durango Colorado. We moved to Aztec NM in 1977. We enjoy a simple life on our farm. We love to travel to warmer climates in the winter when the farm isn't quite so busy. We enjoy gardening, raising livestock and enjoying the bounty of all our hard work. We love hunting, fishing, & boating with our 6 amazing grandchildren whenever we get a chance!
We chose this area years ago because of family. The farm used to be a dairy farm. We worked on the family dairy for a couple of years until my husbands father passed away. The dairy and most of the land was sold. We chose to purchase a small portion of the property and make it our permanent homestead. All of our neighbors are like our family. Everyone watches over the other and helps one another whenever needed. It's peaceful, quite and safe with never ending projects! We get great joy in being able to share a small piece of our homestead with others.
Our property is on the Animas River. At the river we have a private park for friends, family and our guests to enjoy. There is plenty to do at the park. Fish off the banks or jump in and cool off on a hot summer day! Have a fire in the fire pit and roast some marshmallows. Maybe cook up a steak for dinner at the cook shack. Let the children play at the playground or just kick back on the hammock and read a good book under the cottonwoods. There is also wildlife to observe. The river seems to attract them as well!
