Welcome to Runway Retreat, a cozy, professionally designed aviation-inspired cabin set on 75+ private acres along the Allegheny River. With an original decommissioned runway, vintage fueling pump, and historic hangars on-site, this is a truly one-of-a-kind getaway—perfect for families, couples, or small groups who want privacy, fun, and room to roam.



Whether you’re roasting marshmallows by the oversized fire pit, soaking under the stars in the 5-person hot tub, exploring river frontage, or letting the kids burn energy on the swingset, Runway Retreat blends playful aviation charm with modern comfort for an unforgettable stay.

- The cabin is approximately 1,000 sq ft. Indoor spaces are intentionally cozy, while the real room to roam is outdoors on 75+ acres.

- Two private bedrooms, each with a queen bed and a door.

- The Stargazing Loft is an open sleeping area with no door, designed as a kids’ sleeping space. Adults are welcome to use it, but it is best suited for children or guests comfortable with an open, shared layout.

- Larger groups should expect close quarters indoors. Please review the photos and floor layout to make sure the space fits your group.

This property is on a private setting with a lot of fun and relaxation to be had! From the outdoor swings, the fire pit with comfy Adirondack chairs to the cool electronic game board, it is a cozy and comfy destination! Josh ensured to communicate before our arrival, had a great local guide, and reached out to make sure all went well upon check in. We will be back!

Wonderful home on beautiful property. Outside space was amazing, we enjoyed the outside dining area and fire pit. Inside was very comfortable and kitchen had everything needed. We were able to see the meteor shower, perfect view without having to drive anywhere. Close to the PA Grand Canyon and our dog really enjoyed the river! Communication was great, although the comprehensive guide book meant we had no questions!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Aviation Cabin! The house was cleverly decorated, exceptionally well organized, and equipped with everything we needed. It was obvious that the hosts had put a great deal of thought into making their guests comfortable. We especially appreciated the lovely welcome basket with snacks and fire starters, the labeled cabinets and light switches, plenty of hangers, and convenient charging outlets beside the bed. Even the Adirondack chairs were surprisingly comfortable, as was the bed!We particularly loved spending our evenings around the wonderful fire pit, which even had a metal cover to protect it between uses. Another highlight was reclining under the incredible star-filled skies in the field beside the cabin—an unforgettable experience! We also enjoyed the easy river access, where we had fun trying our luck at fishing.It's the combination of thoughtful amenities, comfortable accommodations, and opportunities to enjoy the outdoors that made our stay so special. Thank you for a lovely getaway!

we had no children. we were here to fish.the water was good and the weather great. the propane tank on the grill did not provide enough gas to heat up the grill, so we switched to the second tank.no problem everything was fine.we did break one dish, sorry.this was out 4th or 5th year at this property. it is perfect for us. there was no need for a/c this time, but it was nice that you added a/c units. the firewood supply was nice.

Amazing Amazing Amazing!!! We spent 3 nights at this amazing gem over the Holidays, it had everything we wanted and more. Starting from the host Josh, who complied with all our requests to make this Christmas a magical celebration to always keeping in touch. The house is cozy and the rooms are just beautiful. The amount of space it has made our fury babies enjoy every minute we spent there! If you want to escape from the city and relax and enjoy nature look no further this house is everything you are looking for! Thank you for making our stay a memorable one Josh!
