Ă propos de lâhĂŽte
HÎte : Melanie Lawson
Hello, my name is Melanie, your host at Casteel Cottage.
I was born and raised right here in Cleveland, Tennessee, and my roots run deep in this community. I have a wonderful family which includes my loving parents, an older brother and sister, two step kids I helped raise, and a set of adopted twins whoâve blessed my life in every way. These days, Iâm also a proud grandmother, and I share this adventure with my amazing boyfriend, Steve, your co-host. Heâs incredibly supportive, and together we love creating a peaceful space where guests can relax and feel at home.
My heart has always been in missions and service. Each year I travel to Guatemala with my church to help provide medical care, build homes, and deliver food bags to villages, but most importantly tell others about Jesus. Closer to home, I support a local womenâs shelter that helps women escape abusive situations and rebuild their lives after hardship.
And of course, Iâm an animal lover through and through. Iâve spent over 30 years rescuing and caring for animals, some of whom now enjoy a safe and happy life here on the property. When you stay at Casteel Cottage, a portion of your visit goes directly toward supporting local outreach and rescue efforts, something that means the world to us.
Thank you for choosing to stay here. Your visit helps us continue giving back, one guest (and one furry friend) at a time.

Voici pourquoi lâhĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement
We fell in love with this spot because it perfectly balances peace and convenience. Casteel Cottage sits in a pocket of countryside where you can unwind, watch the sun set over the trees, and still be just 9 minutes from downtown Cleveland and 15 minutes from Parksville Lake and the Ocoee River. Itâs a place where mornings start with birdsong instead of traffic and nights end with the sound of crickets under a wide Tennessee sky.
The property gives us the space to enjoy the outdoors while being part of a friendly, safe community. Our cottage sits on a fenced area beside our main home, giving guests complete privacy while still feeling secure and close to everything. We love that itâs close enough to run into town for dinner, but far enough away that you can truly disconnect and breathe.
We also have a soft spot for animals, and this location lets us give a good home to our rescues. Two outdoor dogs live happily on our side of the fence. Theyâre gentle old souls who enjoy greeting guests through the gate. Many visitors lean over to give them a quick pat on the head. Two outdoor cats wander freely, often stopping by to say hello before finding a sunny spot for a nap. Theyâre part of what makes this property feel alive, warm, and welcoming.
Guests often tell us one of their favorite things to do is sit on the back porch in the rocking chairs, sipping coffee and watching the goats and chickens in the nearby red barn pasture. The animals are fenced in separately but close enough to enjoy from the deck, adding to the peaceful, homegrown charm of the property.
For us, this neighborhood isnât just where we live, itâs a place that captures the heart of Tennessee: peaceful, kind, and full of simple joys. We hope every guest leaves feeling a little more rested, connected, and at home than when they arrived.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique
What truly sets Casteel Cottage apart is the perfect blend of peaceful country charm and thoughtful hospitality. Nestled just minutes from downtown Cleveland, the Ocoee River, and Parksville Lake, our cozy one-bedroom retreat offers the kind of comfort and connection guests rarely find in short-term stays. Every detail, from the comfortable bedding to the private deck and fenced yard, was designed to make you feel instantly at home.
Unlike many rentals, the cottage sits on its own fenced property with a private entrance, deck, and firepit area, so you can fully relax without feeling crowded. Itâs ideal for families who want a safe place for kids to play, couples who crave a quiet escape, or anyone looking to unplug while still enjoying the convenience of nearby restaurants, shopping, and outdoor recreation.
Guests love waking up to morning coffee in the sunroom, grilling on the deck after a day of exploring, or winding down beside the firepit under the Tennessee night sky. During warmer months, the seasonal pool is a highlight. It's perfect for cooling off after hiking, fishing, or rafting in the Cherokee National Forest.
We take pride in offering genuine southern hospitality and personalized touches. Whether itâs a quick local recommendation, an extra blanket, or just a warm smile, weâre always nearby if you need us, but we respect your privacy every step of the way.
And of course, our two friendly outdoor rescue cats have become an unexpected favorite among guests. They occasionally wander by to greet visitors, adding a touch of homegrown personality to the experience.
At Casteel Cottage, youâre not just booking a place to stay, youâre discovering a peaceful corner of Tennessee where comfort, care, and charm come together in one memorable stay.
