The Space:

If you want the perfect place to start your exploration of Kiawah Island, look no further than this recently updated Oceanwoods Cottage. Inside, the home is furnished with lots of comforts and personal touches that work to create an atmosphere that is both welcoming and familiar. You'll enjoy relaxing on the deck or screened porch, especially after you've put some char on your catch of the day using the outside gas grill and gas griddle on the back deck. Use the full kitchen to throw together the perfect cocktails for your guests or maybe a party platter for a raucous game night over the large dining room table. The cottage is within walking distance to the beach, so you and your guests will have lots of fun activities and adventures waiting for you.



What’s nearby:

You just have to check out Bohicket Marina, about 5 miles away, where you can take sunset boat cruises and dolphin tours, visit restaurants and rooftop taverns, and explore all kinds of local events and marina attractions. You'll also be super close to the General Store and to Freshfields Village, a very popular Kiawah hotspot only four miles away, where you’ll find great shopping, great restaurants, and local events like live music, art exhibits, and wine tastings. And if you're a golf enthusiast, be sure to tee off next door at Night Heron Park Golf Course, or at any of the other courses that pepper the island such as Cougar Point and Turtle Point Golf Courses, both less than three miles away.

The open concept and natural lighting was amazing. Enjoyed every minute of being in the screened in porch. The walkable beach access was definitely a highlight.

Great Kiawah neighborhood and rental

Returned to Kiawah with nice older Rental. While it’s “long in the tooth “ area, the proximity is perfect. Less than 120 yards to the beach and very close to Night Heron Park. Great family location.

Absolutely perfect

This stay was beyond our expectations! It was so beautiful on the island. Your just minutes from the ocean and can hear it when you step outside. The neighbor was so kind and friendly and offered up restaurant recommendations. We loved our stay so much!

Short walk to beach and cute place that worked well for our family vacation

Location was a short walk to the beach. Supplied all amenities such as laundry soap, dish soap, paper towel and toilet paper which was appreciated since it’s a 15 min drive to the store off the island. The house was set up great and a lot of space for all. Only downside we found was the beds were a bit lumpy.

Kiawah Oceanwoods 470

Kiawah is always a great vacation. The island is beautiful, swimming is great and getting around is easy. The Oceanwoods 470 property is being ignored and so the house has issues.

Golf and wedding trip

Stayed for 3 nights for a combination golf and wedding trip. The house was as advertised. Very comfortable for the 4 of us. Kitchen had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. House was a very short walk to the beach. We would recommend this unit for a nice quiet getaway.

Perfect for low-key bachelorette weekend!

Highly recommend this house! Rented it for the weekend for a bachelorette beach getaway. House is clean and kitchen well-stocked (corkscrews and blenders for wine and cocktails)! Amazing location for a quick walk to beach (seriously shocked at how quickly we got to the beach access walk-way). Property management was very communicative and easy to get ahold of. Highly recommend!

The property was neat, clean, decorated beautifully and cozy beyond words. The kitchen is well stocked with anything you might need on your vacation. The bathrooms were spotless and well appointed. I was delighted with my time there and felt home (away from home). The internet was speedy. Everything about it was impressive. Checking in was a breeze. Clean, Perfect Sized Beach House with Excellent Location

I was hesitant about renting from a property managing company vs and individual owner, but I have to say that this house was in great condition. It was very clean, spacious, and the location near the closest boardwalk is excellent. The pictures online make this place look smaller than it actually it. The only negative with this experience was with the lack of communication from the property manager. Just a few relatively simple questions that go unanswered from their "dedicated" text number provided. We would stay here again.

Kiawah Island stay

As noted in the previous week's review Kiawah is the probably the best vacation spot on the east coast. However, this house has maintenance issues not being addressed by Vacasa. And, even when they said they would get "the team" over to address the issues they never called or followed up in any way. Hence the 1 star. Kiawah is great,but this house...not so much.

Great kitchen - Close to beach

Pleasant cottage with comfortable furnishings. Easy 3-minute walk to beach. Kitchen was updated and well appointed. Issues: TV has line in center and top half has partial lines of resolution. Wi-Fi is slow (12 Mbps) with vulnerable security, and has poor signal strength. Grill has corroded burner supports. Holes in screens on screened in porch.

Love Kiawah Island - cottage was disappointing

Our family of 6 have been coming to Kiawah Island for 13 years. We LOVE it! This cottage however did not stand up. Very bad odor in kitchen, dishwasher did not work (leaving my daughters and myself to hand washing). No handle on the sliding door to the screened porch. Doors off the closet in a bedroom. Hopefully these inconveniences will get fixed before the next rental.

470 Oceanwoods

Property location is great for short (2-3 minute) walk to beach. The property is starting to show some significant age, however. The sliding glass door won't lock, is extremely difficult to open and close, the ice maker won't dispense through the door (you have get your ice by hand from inside the freezer). Indoor lighting in the living room area is also quite poor day and night unless you can sit near a lamp. An update is needed. If the other units nearby are available, I would choose one of them instead. We have stayed in almost every property on this road (Fiddler's Reach is the road name off of Eugenia, but it will be listed as Oceanwoods on any rental site) and most are a bit nicer.

Really enjoyed our stay at this property! Fantastic proximity to the beach (access is 2 minute walk away). Could even hear the ocean at night from the outdoor space. Well-equipped kitchen and has a grill and Blackstone. Easy check in. Feels private even though it’s close to other homes. Only downside was cheap pillows- bring your own.
