The house features a primary bedroom with a king sized bed, a bedroom with a queen sized bed, and the third bedroom has two single beds. In addition, there is a loft with a trundle bed and the sunroom is complete with a twin size day bed. There are two full bathrooms, one with a beautifully restored antique claw foot tub, the other featuring a luxurious walk-in rain shower. Enjoy your morning coffee in the sunroom while taking in breath taking views of the rolling hills, while watching deer and birds wander by. With plenty of room to celebrate or relax, Pickettâs Place is perfect for gathering with family & friends. Every detail has been thoughtfully designed for comfort - everything is brand new, ensuring a serene and stylish comfortable stay. Outside stroll along the newly installed rock walkway to the fire pit area complete with Adirondack chairs - the perfect spot to stargaze or share stories under the night skies. Hi there! I was born in Athens and grew up right here at Pickett's Place back in the 1970s. My dad raised chickens and spent over 20 years driving the Meigs County Bookmobile, bringing stories to every corner of the county. In 2023, we decided it was time to breathe new life into our old family home - a beautiful house that stood since the 1800s. Though we live in Florida, we spend lots of time here fixing it up and watching the sunset from the porch. This place holds so many memories for us, and we've loved turning it into a cozy, peaceful retreat that others can enjoy. We hope you love your stay at Pickett's Place as much as we've loved bringing it back to life!

What we enjoy most about this area is the feeling of space and calm. You're close enough to town to pick up what you need, but far enough away to truly relax. Downtown Athens or Pomeroy is about 15-20 minutes away and full of local favorites, from cozy diners and coffee stops to antique stores and small town boutiques. Families love exploring the nearby parks, visiting the local farmers market, or taking scenic drives through the rolling hills in Meigs and Athens County. If your looking for a day outdoors, there are plenty of nearby options - hiking trails, fishing spots and places to picnic or let the kids run around. Strouds Run State Park, Forked Run State Park, Hocking Hills State Park, Athens Farmers Market, Dairy Barn Arts Center are all local favorites and a short drive from Pickett's Place.
