Riverside retreat - peaceful 3 bedroom house with beach on Bourbeuse River

Welcome to the River House! Just a short walk down a wooded path from the back door to a private sand bar on the Bourbeuse River. Enjoy fishing, boating, swimming, or a quiet day on the water. Relax on the world's most inviting couch next to the wood burning stove, or bird-watch on the back deck. 45 minutes to St. Louis, 20 minutes to Meramec Caverns, 15 minutes to Six Flags, 10 minutes to Shaw Nature Reserve and Robertsville State Park -- a perfect location for a weekend getaway!

The River House is a 1960s ranch-style home with a full kitchen opening into a living room with an oversized couch and TV. Vintage bowling alley benches and a custom table provide a cozy dining area for the whole family.

The first bedroom has a queen sized bed and a twin bed, the second bedroom has a queen sized bed and a dedicated workspace, and the third bedroom has a twin sized bed and is tucked into the back of the house -- perfect for little ones who are still napping. Please note that access to the third bedroom is through the 2nd bedroom (see pictures). One full bath has a tub and shower.

Out the back door, enjoy a large deck with outdoor seating in the fenced-in back yard.

A five minute walk through our acre of woods will bring you to the private gravel bar.
*Please note that the woods and the gravel bar are in a floodplain and it really does flood a few times a year! If the woods are flooded during your stay, the river will be much closer to the house, and the gravel bar will be underwater. This is most likely to occur March-May.

We provide coffee and snacks, fast WiFi, lots of smart TV subscriptions, beach towels/toys/chairs, and kid stuff including booster seats, toys, a pack-and-play, etc, upon request.

This is our family's house and we hope you have just as much fun as we do when you visit! Guests have also described our house as peaceful, quiet, and relaxing -- we agree. Just let us know if there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable.
