It was wonderful with lots of breathtaking views! Pool was great and the house was very well maintained and clean! Susy was amazing! Easy to get in touch with if you had any questions and gave us lots of recommendations for restaurants and what to do! Highly recommend!

Communication with the host was a challenge. I asked for simple things like soap and towels and she responded by saying one bottle of soap was enough for 3 bathrooms and 1 bathroom towel per person was enough for 6 days. The door to the pool was hard to open and the host showed me how to open but made me feel like I should have been able to figure that out. She also asked me if I ever rented a house before which was an insult to me. Overall the host made it difficult to stay the house but we still enjoyed our time in Maderia.

Thank you for your feedback. I am always committed to clear and prompt communication with all my guests, and I am sorry to hear that your experience suggested otherwise. Regarding the soap, our accommodation did not provided amenities at the time, but knowing there was a bottle available, I made it accessible for your use. For context, we now provide basic amenities for all guests. Concerning the towels, I explained where additional towels could be found, and the other guest understood perfectly, so no further issues arose. Regarding the pool door, I simply demonstrated how to open it for safety, and it was never my intention to imply that guests should have figured it out on their own. As for my question about previous rental experience, it was meant solely to explain routine house procedures during check-out, not to cause offense. I do not know why Ms Debbie had this perception, as communication with my guests is consistently rated as excellent in all other reviews. Nevertheless, I regret any misunderstanding, which may have been influenced by my being a native Portuguese speaker.

Everything was great although we arrived quite late so in addition to the welcome pack it would have been good to have some basics like milk, bread and butter - should have asked the question to see if they could provide but might be a good idea to add these instead of the local produce which was not really suitable for breakfast xx

Perfect place to experience Funchal

Such a beautiful house with plenty of space, charm, and warmth for two families and one grandpa. Susy was a very attentive host, I have every confidence in recommending both her home and her as a very good place to land during a holiday in Madeira. The pictures are highly accurate as a depiction of the home. It is located on a very steep hill, if you have travelers with mobility issues plan on having a car (there is a garage to park in) or have money for taxis. Thank you Susy!!

Lovely Spot and hostess!

This was a perfect spot for seeing the New Year's fireworks. The house is spotlessly clean with beautiful furnishings and décor. The kitchen was very well supplied with everything looking like new. The view from the patio was phenomenal; particularly for the fireworks. We walked into town and were happy not to be in the busy touristy part of town. Susy is a great hostess and we are so glad to have met her. Hope to return! Thank you Susy...all the best.

Excellent location and very clean.

Very well located, really good size rooms, well equipped and very clean. Susy is very easy to contact and replies to messages quickly. The road is quite busy so expect some traffic noise, the fans help with the noise at night. The only room with A/C is the living room and there are a lot of mosquitos so keep the doors shut and use plug-ins to help. Funchal is very easy to get to, but the hills are very steep so downloading the Bolt app to get taxis is a great plan.

In summer there’s mosquitos everywhere. And we are a tropical island… I don’t feel it faire to mention like the problem is my place… I am so sorry. Lived in the villa for 8 years with my family and never got fans because never was needed. Just bought it if it makes sense for some guests, with all good intention… always asked if it was everything ok and you always said “yes”… if you told me what you didn’t like, I could try to optimize it for you. My goal is my guests having a wonderful time in Susy’s Garden and in Madeira Island

Lovely villa in Funchal

The villa was just as lovely as it looked in the photograph & had everything required for our stay. The pool was very popular with the whole family .The surrounding roads are very steep, but we normally walked into town. There was a bus stop just outside for the short trip if needed. The return stop was further away & the buses didn't run for some of the day, but there are always taxis. It was good to be away from the built up hotel side of Funchal. This was more of a local residential area, so had a more authentic Portuguese feel.

Just, amazing!

Susy as a host is just amazing. Whenever you messaged her, you would get a response instantly. She is friendly, kind and polite. Susy’s Garden is the most perfect place. It is the perfect villa with breathtaking views (which is perfect for the New Year’s Eve Fireworks). It is well kept and clean. Lovely neighbourhood, with neighbours that helped me when I got lost on the first day. We spent most of our time around the pool, it is just such a relaxing place. If you are wondering whether to stay here or not, do it! You won’t regret it. Thank you Susy and Susy’s garden, we hope to see you again in the future. Amanda, Michael, Brian and Barbara xxxx

Très belle maison proche du centre ville de Funchal, 15' à pieds, la rue descend très fortement pour aller au centre et remonte donc très fortement.Piscine agréable. Susy la propriétaire est très réactive et très sympathique.Seul bémol, les chiens qui aboient !

Concernant les chiens du voisinage, à Madère comme dans le reste du Portugal, presque chaque famille a un animal de compagnie. Il peut donc arriver que, si l’un d’eux aboie, les autres répondent. Cela reste toutefois une situation ponctuelle, et j’ai déjà eu l’occasion d’en discuter avec certains propriétaires afin que cela ne gêne pas la tranquillité de mes hôtes. Votre retour est très précieux et je serai heureuse de vous accueillir à nouveau 🌸

Wonderful holidays

We had a lovely time staying at Susy‘s house. It’s a bit smaller than it looks in the pictures but just as pretty. The kitchen was the best equipped kitchen we have ever seen in a rental home, this came in especially handy as we were there during Christmas so did quite a bit of cooking. The beds are very comfortable and the lounge was cozy. Having a built-in garage on the ground floor was very useful. The terrace allows for a pole position for watching both the sunset and the incredible fireworks Funchal is so (rightfully) famous for on New Years Eve. Susy was always available and ready to help with any question we had. Thank you for the great stay, we’ll come back soon!

Very lovely holiday with a fantastic villa. Tastefully & clean villa with stunning views. Beds extremely comfortable. Good location to town/marina. Owner very helpful with organising things for us & leaving a welcome package which was a nice gesture. Thank you!

Amazing!

Absolutely beautiful villa, could not ask for more. Susy and her team were friendly and accommodating. Celebrated my fathers 80th, he thoroughly enjoyed lounging by the pool and taking in the breathtaking views of Funchal. I would firmly recommend this villa.
