The Space:

A great space for a family looking to explore the wild beauties of the Northern California Coast, this home features an open floor plan, plentiful space to spend time outdoors, and a wood-burning stove to warm your toes as you watch movies each evening.



After a day spent on nearby Glass Beach, you can roast marshmallows around the firepit and take soothing soaks in the outdoor hot tub and the jetted master bathtub.



The perfect blend of seclusion and convenience, this home sits two miles northeast of downtown Fort Bragg, where you can grab a beer at the North Coast Brewing Taproom, hop on board the Skunk Train for a ride through the redwoods, or admire the treasures on Glass Beach. The sandy stretch of Pudding Creek Beach is only a mile west, and MacKerricher State Park awaits three miles up the coast. The region's beauty is also on full display at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens (five miles south) and in the charming art galleries and restaurants in downtown Mendocino (13 miles south).



Firewood is provided.

There is a full kitchen, but please note on the stainless steel gas range, only the burners operate (the oven does not work); however, there is a built-in wall oven.

Unfortunately we didn't use the hot tub, but saw it was hot enough and looked inviting.There is no garbage disposal, so would like to see maybe a compost bin out back.Loved the property. House was very roomy. We normally try to stay right on the ocean, but this was a lovely alternative, and quite close to everything in Ft. Bragg and the state park, yet felt private and secluded among the redwoods. Sat out at the fire pit at night and early morning - wonderful! This would be a great place for kids old enough to run around and explore.

Nice spacious farm house

Stay was great, master bed was comfortable, living room furniture needs updated to more comfortable couches. Provide more firewood for multiple day stay at fire pit. secondary bathroom lights turn off automatically while in the shower. (fix timer or install toggle switch) Overall stay was great, house is very spacious, we would stay again.

Never again....

The informational binder could have had a lot more information in it. Password was password (lower case), not what was texted to us. No coffee filters! Even Super* gives you the means to make coffee (we did bring our own coffee...) Matches were hidden, DVD player didn't work. The gutters were full and pouring rain right into the walkway at house corner. I got soaked packing out and couldn't get the dryer to work (lint screen detector, which we cleaned and still didn't work!!) so I left the house in cold, wet clothes. We'll rent a different house next time, for sure.

Good Review

This was a great place except for the hot tub. A person came out to fix it and said it probably wouldn’t be usable. It was not ok until the last night there. Having said all that. The place was beautiful and I would stay there again. It was very spacious with a big dining/kitchen table. It was great for family members to talk.

Peaceful place!

Mostly well, the hall bathroom had an annoying odor! Smelled like cat urine! Called about someone was suppose to come, we were gone most of day so don’t l don’t know if anyone showed up it still smelled remainder of trip. You need to replenish silverware! There were only like 3 teaspoons but 12 forks!! There were BIG soup spoons. But that doesn’t work very well. Specially with small children. tan out of dishwashing tabs!

Birthday trip

We are originally from FB, we went for a family members 70th birthday. The house was great! Plenty of room, plenty or outdoor space. The only bad thing i would say is needed more TP, paper towels things like that. Beautiful home! Thank you!

Second year here, great property

Good, Needs a new bed in guest room, date on mattress Jan 1988!! Even with a topper could fee springs! Please purchase a toaster! That toaster oven does not work properly. Timer lights go off when in shower! Back bathroom trim needs to be finished going to ruin sub floor! Really is a great property just needs a little more TLC

Amazing getaway!

We had the best time! The home is spacious and clean and all details are attended to. The best VRBO we’ve ever rented, so much great space outside for the kids to explore and feels like you’re in your own private forest. We absolutely will be back!

Fabulous home

Beautiful home, great location, property is lovely. The only thing I found odd is that one of the bedrooms has a double bed! Spring for the queen size bed! I would make this fabulous property over the top!!

Quiet Retreat among the Redwoods

A very relaxing place to stay. House is larger than we anticipated. We loved the location and the serenity among the redwoods. We enjoyed the ample supply of firewood and had a campfire in the fire pit with smores each night. All in all, we had a great time during our 8 day stay. We read prior reviews and brought a Roku stick with us. Without it there was no TV reception. Just a couple of minor notes for management (since there wasn't an efficient way to communicate) and future guests. There is no can opener. We found that out the hard way while preparing dinner. I suggest folks staying more than a few days bring additional tall kitchen garbage/recycle bags. We found only 4, which was insufficient for our larger group. It would also be nice to have some kid-friendly glasses and dishes and a larger skillet. Croquet set has only two useable mallets and should be replaced. Several of the blue plastic Adirondack chairs have cracks in them. These minor issues can be readily remedied by the property manager and should not discourage any prospectime tenants.

Family Vacation

The house and area were beautiful. The wild life amazing...pretty sure there was a bear out there at night. We found fresh scat. The kids loved the play house. There was no cable but we had internet and our lap top. The one bathroom only had a tub the shower part didn't work. But all in all we had fun and loved the area.....very beautiful and peaceful. I enjoyed the view from the living room while drinking my coffee and reading :)

First getaway in three years!

Beautiful, spacious home surrounded by trees. Very secluded, peaceful, quiet and clean. Close to Fort Bragg. Comfortable beds and huge master bedroom. Lots of towels and beach towels. Kitchen is nicely equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed having so much space to stretch out. Perfect for families, great play area outside for kids. We were hoping to see the caretaker just to say hi but we didn't see anyone around the property the whole time we were there. The key/lock was a little difficult to put back into the holder after we had entered and later wanted to leave and lock up but we figured it out eventually. We were not able to change the temperature of the hot tub, have a feeling the temperature is set. Would have liked it hotter but completely understand any liability issues for the owner. No cable TV but we took DVD's so not a problem. (Watched the Live Aid concert from 1985 :-) Didn't want to leave! Would definitely stay again.

Relaxing Visit

The property was nice, the home beautiful and spacious. Plenty of room for our group of six to spread out and not feel we were on top of each other.. One bedroom description was inaccurate at booking (has since been corrected), which led to unpleasant sleeping arrangement in that room. The DVD player was not properly hooked up so we could not enjoy movies in the beginning of stay, maintenance did fix the issue. Some areas looked like they might still be doing some remodeling. The décor and furnishings were nice. There was a good supply of dishes, pans, and bakeware, but no potholders available. The location was peaceful, we had a relaxing time. It was too cool to enjoy the outdoor areas however they looked inviting.
