You can access a seven-mile stretch of a sandy beach just 0.4 miles from the house. Downtown Rockaway Beach is three miles to the south, where you will find an array of dining options, antique stores, fun gift shops, necessities, and more. Catch the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad for a quick trip down to the fishing village of Garibaldi, where you can pick up some fresh seafood from the marina. Crabbing and salmon fishing are less than five minutes away on the Nehalem River, and great trout fishing awaits at Lake Lytle.

House was the perfect size and decorated beautifully. Great location that is pretty close to the beach. If you like tacos I suggest Barview Jetty Taqueria. I gave this a 4 star review based on the following disappointments. Property had several lights burnt out or not working. There were no games or activities there. Back yard was overgrown and not mowed. Cable remote was not found until checkout day so couldn’t watch local news. No garage access which is not part of the listing. And no communication with an actual host only automated replies.

The property was everything that was advertised. The washer and dryer are very large, which didn't matter to us so much since we were a party of only three. We make a lot of our meals, so we were happy with the various kitchen items, including the electric griddle. There were ample utensils and dishes as well. All appliances worked well, including the outdoor grill. The owners/property managers were very responsive by email, and we never needed to call them. We did accidentally set off the smoke detector, which took a minute to reset. We should have been running the vent fan, but it's good to know the detector works.Not that these owners could have done anything about it, but there were a couple of nights where the short-term rental neighbors next door stayed up a bit too late. They made a fair amount of noise on their patio, and it was easy to hear due to the proximity of the houses.It would be good if at least one of the bedrooms had a TV, and not just the family room. If there had been more of us, this would have been a bigger inconvenience.The big dinner bell in the kitchen is a nice touch. I rang it a couple of times unexpectedly to the chagrin of the others in our party. :-)Thanks for hosting us. We'd definitely recommend, though with the caveat that the units are pretty close together, and no one should expect to "recreate" outdoors on the property. No big deal with the beach so close.

Nice beach Home ! Would return !

The Captains quarters was clean and nicely tucked away in a little Beachside neighborhood. Beach access was just a 10 minute walk . The beach was beautiful and the Quarters were comfy and pet friendly . Would definitley reccomend this home !

Return customer here. Unfortunately the air conditioning unit was broken so the home heated up after 4pm to very uncomfortable temps throughout the nights. Hopefully it will be fixed for the next visitors.
