À propos de l’hôte
Hôte : Ian Koblitz
Living The Dream Cabins is a family owned business that we have been building for over 10 years, and it has grown into our full time work. What started as a small idea has turned into something we are incredibly grateful for, and these properties are how our family makes a living.
We own and operate several unique stays in Hocking Hills, including an Underground Earth Home, Treehouse, Grain Silo, and a handful of other unique cabins. Each property has its own personality, but they all share the same hands-on care and attention. Our family is directly involved in the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and upkeep, so nothing here feels distant or impersonal.
We enjoy hosting because we love this area and take pride in creating places that people remember long after their stay.
Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement
This area has always been personal to us. Ian’s godmother owns property here, and he spent his entire childhood coming down to this part of Hocking Hills. Those trips are a big reason he grew up loving the outdoors. He’s an Eagle Scout, an Air Force veteran, and someone who genuinely feels most at home in places like this.
Hocking Hills has always felt like a hidden gem in Ohio. It has the kind of natural beauty that never gets old, from quiet back roads and wooded trails to open land and star filled skies. At the same time, it still has character and charm, right down to the local dive bars and small spots that feel unchanged in the best way.
Between decades of visiting, more than ten years of building, owning, and operating cabin rentals, and even relocating some of our own family here, we know this area inside and out. We chose this neighborhood because it feels authentic, peaceful, and grounded, and it’s a place that means something to us beyond just owning a property here.
Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique
What really makes this place special is how it was built and the details you notice once you’re here. The lodge is Amish built, and you can feel that craftsmanship everywhere, from the massive whole tree support in the great room to the real log trim and woodwork throughout the cabin. There are subtle design details that tie everything together, including custom wood accents, western inspired branding touches, and scalloped trim that runs through the space and gives it a warm, intentional feel rather than something mass produced.
Then there are the fun and memorable amenities. There’s a hidden game room that opens through a bookshelf with foosball, air hockey, and a TV with an Xbox 360, plus a pool table and ping pong table for groups of all ages. The owner’s suites are oversized and feel more like a private luxury retreat than a typical cabin bedroom. With four fireplaces, a 12 person hot tub, and a dining table that comfortably seats 12, it’s designed for groups to gather but still spread out and relax.
Outside, the setting really sets it apart. The lodge sits on just under 8 private acres and offers over 4,000 square feet of space. It backs up to state owned land and is directly across from Cowboy Larry’s Horse Camp, with access to about 40 miles of bridle trails. It feels secluded and peaceful, but still connected to the area, which is exactly what we love about it and why our guests tend to feel the same.
