The kitchen was extremely nice and well provisioned.....everything you need to prepare your own meals and then some. Very comfortable home and much more accommodating than a hotel room. The home is only about 5 - 10 minutes from Meijer and Walmart for groceries or other needs. Our schedule did not allow for it, but during the summer months there is a farmer's market near the beach. For dining out, I recommend the Red Brick Tap & Barrel on River St. If you are a little adventurous, consider Negwegon State Park, south of Alpena in Black River.I grew up in Alpena and went back for the first time in many years to visit friends. The town has certainly changed and having homes like Huron Haus to rent for your stay, especially if you have a family, is a great option. My wife commented multiple times how happy she was we chose this home to stay in and it was more relaxing than a hotel.
