We apologize for the inconvenience K feels she experienced. We share our private home entirely with guests: including access and the key to our USPS mailbox for their use. We reside in the home ½ the year. Naturally we receive mail when we are not present. The majority of our guests have expressed their gratitude and happiness during the 11 years we have been renting our home. K’s rating and comments, however, were surprising, especially after we reached out by email to K asking for permission for our property manager PM, who K had met previously in person during check-in, to retrieve our new Credit Cards our US bank had sent to our mailbox. K consented and let our PM know by email where our mail K collected was physically left in the house. Our PM followed up with an email when he would come by. At the time he arrived, K was not present, and our PM entered to collect the mail where K had left it, as described in her email. K did not follow up that day after the collection with an email nor phone call to us or the PM to express any concerns about the entry. There was more then enough time for K to communicate with us before her departure if any real privacy issue had occurred. We asked and received permission from K in writing. We wish K the best in the future.

You have been such lovely renters and we are definitely looking forward seeing you come back in the fall. Thanks for taking so good care of our home. Casa Refugi is an authentic Mid Century residence in architecture and furnishings. We strive to maintain the minimalism as intended by architect Rick Harrison who built this in 1967. The open concept flow and glass curtain walls are part of the indoor/outdoor living style that Palm Springs is famous for. Our choice for Casa Refugi is custom high end/ authentic mid century Danish modern furniture. All chairs and couches are lean architecturally and visually to complement the interior design. They may not have the lush softness of a La-Z-Boy but as my partner, working for over 30 years in design industry says, "comfort is a very personal interpretation". As part of our community aiming for "Historical Designation", all renovations must be submitted for review and approved by an Architectural Committee. Our bathrooms are scheduled for complete renovation Summer 2015 as soon as approval is granted. We are excitedly waiting to provide this updating. As you mentioned, Casa Refugi is situated on lush, well maintained grounds, 15 pools and 18 hole golf course. This comes with a price in terms of grass cutting, pruning, pool cleaning. Periodical hedge trimming is required between winter rains and hot summers. Regarding the aging poolside furniture: 365 days of desert sun and dry air does greatly shorten the lifespan of any metal and plastic. Stacking is a means of limiting exposure of their surfaces to the elements. Each of these pools are on a random schedule for replacements. This pool will receive new furniture later this year. All 15 pools are open to you so feel free to visit any of them. We welcome pets and good on you for finding alternatives to letting Cookie run on the greens where President Eisenhower shot his famous hole in one! The 5 star Parker Hotel is nearby and our guests have told us they are charmed by hot air balloons/ fireworks /live music that can be occasionally and distantly enjoyed behind the wall of our courtyard not to mention our lawn and quiet lane with thick hedges and high wall, frontage road, another hedge and wall PLUS an empty lot separating us by over 600 feet from the edge of a private event. The Parker limits parties until 10PM weekdays with rare exceptions till 12 pm weekends. Many younger residents of 7 Lakes work daytime so it is understandable you might only see more mature guests. It is a vibrant, mixed group that welcomes all lifestyles /demographics. Glad you enjoyed the $100 gift credit at our Clubhouse restaurant.
