Hacienda del Canon is a charming territorial-style adobe, built in 1938 and lovingly restored to pair original character with modern comfort. Venetian plaster walls, exposed viga-and-latilla ceilings, hardwood and tile floors, and Southwest decor fill the home with warmth and natural light, while a fully enclosed compound and mature apricot trees make it feel private and peaceful.
Inside, a comfortable living room centers on a classic kiva fireplace and opens to a full kitchen with a breakfast bar, while a separate dining room is made for gathering over meals. Two queen bedrooms offer restful, light-filled retreats, and covered front and back porches invite slow mornings and starlit evenings with mountain views in nearly every direction.

Hacienda del Canon is set in a quiet Taos neighborhood with open mountain views, just under two miles from historic Taos Plaza and its shops, galleries, and restaurants. Taos Pueblo and the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge are close by, and Taos Ski Valley is about 20 miles away for skiing in winter and hiking in summer.
Getting Around:
A vehicle is recommended to explore Taos and the surrounding area; the Plaza is just under two miles away and Taos Ski Valley is about 20 miles away. In winter, AWD or 4WD is helpful for reaching the higher mountain roads toward the ski valley.

Check-in begins at 4:00 PM, and check-out is by 10:00 AM.
Quiet hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM in consideration of our neighbors.
Guests must be at least 21 years old to book, and only registered guests are permitted.
No smoking, parties, or events.
Dogs are welcome (up to 1) with prior approval and any applicable pet fee. Please pick up after your pets.
This home does not have air-conditioning; it stays comfortable with mountain air and baseboard heating in cooler months.

We loved that we could walk to the Plaza in about 10 minutes! The Hideaway was perfect for two couples, with each having a king bed and en-suite bathroom. You could also walk to Canyon Rd. We also enjoyed having 3 outdoor spaces to enjoy on the property. Charming decor.

Very nicely appointed unit with a lot of space. Loved having the private suites for each couple. The extra bathroom was also very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here, especially how close the unit is to everything around the square and beyond. We will definitely stay again. Repeat stay didn't disappoint
This is a repeat stay for us and we will stay here again should we return to the Santa Fe area. The location is perfect as a base "camp" for day trips to Taos, Jemez, and Albuquerque. Access to local attractions, restaurants, and businesses is also convenient. We order from Whole Foods and pickup on arrival makes the 1st day less hectic after a day of travel.

Overall it was a very good stay. However, some very minor maintenance and attention is needed, keeping this from being an excellent rating. But in no way should others be concerned about staying here. We would most definitely book again in we returned to Santa Fe.
