This restored 1940's cabin blends cozy elegance with modern luxury in the form of king suites, loft hideaway, and family-friendly spaces. Welcome to the Heart of the Art Coast!
Mulberry Pines is located in the picturesque town of Douglas. Sister town to Saugatuck, Douglas is a laid-back, yet high-class, travel destination, known for its world-renowned art galleries. Douglas is quiet enough to sit outside and hear nothing but the breeze and the birds chirping, yet vibrant enough to offer food, drinks, and entertainment that would suit a city many times its size. Locally owned businesses line the streets of downtown, and if you manage to exhaust Downtown Douglas (which you may not), Downtown Saugatuck is less than five minutes away by car or easily available on foot or by bicycle.
After you’ve sampled the local food and drinks, many grown right here in this top-producing agricultural region, and shopped at our many independent boutiques, head out into Pure Michigan's natural beauty at our gorgeous beaches, trails, and state parks. Nearby Oval Beach was ranked by Conde Nast Traveler as one of the top 25 best shorelines on the entire planet! Rent a watercraft or take a dip in sparkling, immaculate Lake Michigan, then climb our mountainous sand dunes to shady wooded trails.
Your safety and security are our top priority. Keyless Entry allows for a flexible check-in. You will be provided with a customized code prior to your arrival.
Tucked away on a serene half-acre between the sparkling shores of Lake Michigan and the winding Kalamazoo River, Mulberry Pines is your dreamy summer escape beneath a canopy of whispering pines. Just minutes from the beach, scenic hiking trails, and the charming shops and restaurants of Saugatuck and Douglas, this lovingly restored 1940s get-away cabin blends timeless character with modern luxury, welcoming you into a cozy, elevated retreat from the moment you arrive.
Inside, you’ll find thoughtfully designed spaces perfect for gathering and unwinding. The spacious primary suite features a plush king bed and a spa-like bathroom complete with a walk-in shower and indulgent jacuzzi tub. Upstairs, the airy loft feels like a treehouse hideaway, offering a king bed and a trundle twin, ideal for couples or families looking for a little extra magic. Just off the kitchen, the third bedroom includes a queen bed and twin bunk beds, making it a fun and comfortable haven for kids and families alike.
The heart of the home is the open-concept living and dining area, where a sprawling couch invites everyone to relax together. Enjoy movie nights on the Samsung Frame TV, cozy up by the wood-burning fireplace, or gather around the long dining table with seating for eight; perfect for shared meals and late-night games and conversations. The fully stocked kitchen is ready for everything from quick breakfasts to memorable dinners, complete with cookware, bakeware, spices, and all the essentials. Sip your locally roasted morning coffee or Michigan blended tea at the island bar seating for four or enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the sunny kitchen table for six.
And when you're ready for some sand and sun, just a stroll away, Douglas Beach Park offers a charming escape where Lake Michigan’s shoreline feels a little more yours. With its family-friendly vibe, gentle pace, and fewer crowds, it’s the kind of place you’ll find yourself ending up at again and again; barefoot, unhurried, and completely at ease.
Returning to home base after a day in the shining water and singing sand in the evening brings nothing but pure magic. The expansive front yard is perfect for lawn games and the fire pit begs for roasting s’mores under the stars and long conversation around the embers. Out back, your private fenced-in oasis awaits, featuring a cozy lounge area, outdoor dining, and the ultimate highlight: a six-person hot tub, open year-round for stargazing soaks. If you’re visiting in June, don’t miss the sweet bonus of fresh mulberries ripe for picking off the Mulberry tree right in the backyard.
Mulberry Pines isn’t just a place to stay, it’s where summer memories are made.
Mulberry Pines is mere steps from Downtown Douglas and a short drive from Saugatuck, Fennville, many beaches, and various wineries/breweries. Don't feel like driving? No problem there! The Saugatuck Township Interurban Transit Authority offers pick-ups and drop-offs for only $1 each way to anywhere in Saugatuck Township. Simply call in the moment or ahead and reserve a time and pick-up/drop-off location, and your chariot awaits!

We love our pets! We invite you to bring up to 2 doggies.

Please reach out at the time of booking so we can approve your doggy guest stay and prep the home for their arrival.
