Property is tired- though cleaned before our occupancy, couch and carpets had permanent stains, water sprayed out of showerhead connection to the supply pipe, wiring for living room ac unit was crudely connected with electrical tape. We were assured of early check in, but the key system had not been updated- requiring a call and a wait (after a 20 hour international trip) to get the key. Ryan (works for host) was a good communicator and did discount early check in, and discounted our 7 night stay by the equivalent of about 1/2 day or about 7%. There was also a problem with the key system checking out (system did not operate correctly- we left key with building supervisor. Lastly, there was an initial issue when we reserved months in advance. Despite an original property showing as available for our dates- the basis for our booking- we were told after booking that the property was not available, but that there was an alternate “same” apartment on the same street. So, we booked the alternate. It was on the same street, but 7 blocks further north, further from our desired location, when they finally gave us the actual address, 24 hours before occupancy. Out of more than a dozen rentals through VRBO, this was one of our less favorable experiences. For what they are charging, they should replace the couch and rug, and have an electrician and plumber correct the noted issues. Again, communication from Ryan was good, so that helped.
