The space

The Cosmic Cowboy is a great retreat from the summer heat and hustle and bustle of modern life. Simple, stylish furnishing and high quality comforts like cold AC and organic cotton sheets will get you feeling relaxed fast. Hi-fi stereo and near field studio monitors (good speakers ;). 2 Smart TVs. DVD and VHS players with retro classics library. Curated books, games and puzzles. Gas cooking. Full fridge. Ice maker. Walk-in shower. Mini splits in every room.

The Cosmic Cowboy sits in a charming traditional neighborhood full of bungalows. Our neighbors have chickens and dogs but it is generally pretty darn quiet. You're poised for walking over to Main St (10 minutes) or down to the river walk trail (15 minutes). We're just a few minutes drive off Hwy 50 so it's super convenient for travelers passing through.

We are dog friendly and there's a nice open yard area right outisde your door. We are not fully fenced and deer roam the neighborhood. There is a wonderful little triangle park located one house away.

My husband and I love creating cool spaces to share with people. This is our 8th Airbnb. We sold the others and now we put all our energy into this property (and one other, also in Canon: The Power Plant builtin 1890.)

We purchased the house about 5 months ago and have put more work and money into it than you can imagine. Built in 1968, the house is divided into 2 units. The downstairs is complete and ready for guests. We are still working on the exterior and the upstairs so no one is staying above you until we complete the renovation. Also, no work will be done on site during your stay. That said, we are local and happy to help.

I've been a realtor for 20+ years and my husband spent the last 30 years working as a Prop Master in the film industry. We've both traveled a lot and stayed at a ton of vacation rentals. Tired of cheap furnishings and unoriginal art, we have mostly real furniture, real plants, and real art. We do our own housekeeping and resetting. We live 5 minutes from our vacation rentals.

Canon City is a lovely small town in the high desert of Colorado. The historic Main St and Arkansas River are really cool. Royal Gorge Railroad and Suspension Bridge are worthy attractions. Nearby Florence is the antique capital of Colorado and a good stop off on your way to Desert Reef Hot Springs. Skip the crowds and come to Canon City!

You're staying in the downstairs apartment of a big house. You have a private dedicated entrance and you may park close to the door in the driveway under the carport. You may use the yard near your entrance. You have the full downstairs including 2 bedrooms, living room, bathroom and full kitchen.

Upstairs is currently not occupied. Renovations are still underway. No work will be done during your stay. Thank you!
