Spring Lake Beach House

My wife and I have been married for eight years. Sandy is a retired kindergarten teach and I am a retired quality assurance engineer. Sandy still substitutes for Grand Haven Schools.

We both enjoy being very active, which includes cycling, snowshoeing, dancing, motorcycle trips, and hiking which usually takes in some Geocaching. During the winter months we have been taking dance lesson for over five years. For the past couple years we always seem to be traveling during the month of March. It is that time of year the snow condition has pretty much deteriorated and the spring and summer play weather hasn't arrived yet. During the summer months we have no desire to travel since the west Michigan area is its own playground.

We have totally enjoyed meeting people from various parts of the country that have stayed at the "beach house" . It has helped us to plan some of our own trips.

Why this property? Well to start with, it is the only rental property on Spring Lake that can view the sailboats catching the prevailing westerlies winds as that trip up and down the lake all from the view of the dinning area or from the front patio area. Or enjoy the morning calm with your early morning coffee as you look over the lake as the fishermen make it to their favorite fishing spots.

The property is easy walking distance to the Spring Lake public beach which has a full time lifeguard. If you desire a much larger beach area, there is always the beaches Grand Haven, which is only about 10 minutes away. There you a choice of Grand Haven Michigan State Park, or Grand Haven public beach.

On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, there are free concerts all within about ten minute drive. On Friday nights Muskegon has a free concerts in Hackley park with beverages and food available to purchase. As a rule, need to bring your own chairs.

For those that want to have a workout before relaxing on the local beaches, there are several bike paths in the area. The one closest to the property is only a short distance, maybe 100 yards up the hill. The bike path travels along the circumference of lake, about 9 miles. If you are into Geocaching, there are several close to the bike path.

The closest boat launch is only about mile away. This launch is on Spring Lake which connect to lake Michigan.

There is a amusement park about 30 minute drive. This is duel park, water and rides. Discount tickets are available.


As a rule, Grand Haven, Spring Lake, or Muskegon always has some special event every week. Check local media for update.
