We want you to know we heard you loud and clear and since your stay, we have added additional cookware & dishes, changed the pub table in the dining room to a massive oak claw foot table set with seating for 8, stocked the pantry with condiments & consumables, and have added a true "wireless" internet connection. We were so proud to have you guys visit and hope you will consider us again whenever you are in our neck of the woods.

Congratulations again on the grad school graduation. We are so proud you were able to sleep all of your guests comfortable in this quaint 3 bedroom home. At first glance it looks small but it packs a punch! We worked hard to cover every sleeping space with not only encasements for the mattresses, but those fire exstingushers and carbon detectors because we care. We know you had choices, the market is saturated with investors trying to make a quick buck. Yet, you chose us and appreciate you giving us the opportunity to offer the venue where your family could relax and enjoy one another in a clean and safe space. Thanks again P.S. Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us during your "Liberty Bowl Event" and congratulations on your win. We are glad to know that you found our home accommodating to not only your large group, but your vehicles as well. That extra driveway has often provided boat parking space for our guests. Because you were here during a special event traffic was terrible and getting in and out of downtown probably added 10-15 minutes to your trip. The fees charged by VRBO/Homeaway cannot be helped as they are government imposed and your stay was "Peak Season", however, when you calculate the costs of several hotel rooms and overnight parking fees at a hotel, not to mention the security, ambience, and kitchen facilities; well we did our best to offer a competitive quote. Next time your are in Memphis if you mention this stay we will gladly add one nights stay free to your paid reservation. We hope we gave you the personal attention you deserve and thank you again.

We listened and Guess what, we fixed that lighting situation and added LED lighting in the kitchen. We also added additional air conditioning units. We know there’s nothing we can do about the front of the house being 150 feet from the road, yet, that’s why encourage loading and unloading only out front so you can take full advantage of the parking and backyard amenities on the completely private 5 acre plot out back. We wish you’d come again soon and see the other updates done since your stay.

It is unfortunate that as you arrived to our fair city, we experienced a record breaking high wind storm in our community that caused certain areas to be without electricity and phones lines. It was in fact the second such storm within the month and we are still in recovery. Though an act of nature is not something that can be predicted, we did however communicate the conditions as soon as you called giving you the option to seek other accommodations. Without any communication from media or utility companies, we were unable to provide a probable time before services could be restored to the city. When you decided to wait it out with us versus finding other accomodations, two room sized high power led flashlights and several candles were provided. We had also stocked lots of snacks and beverages for your arrival. We stayed in the inlaws quarters onsite overnight to be availble during the outage. Early morning we texted and asked the number of guests with no response, but we purchased freshly prepared full breakfast for 10 guests along with a carafe of hot coffee. We provided both charcoal and propane for cooking. Hot water was available during the outage. We considered our good fortune under the circumstances, as several of our neighbors had trees actually in their homes. The power was restored mid morning, less than 18 hours after your late checkin . You were offered, but declined, to extend your stay at no charge. For your entire stay we asked several times if you found everything in order and your replies were always positive, no mention was made that there were any unacceptable items. Were we made aware that there were deficiencies we were available to address them immediately. Yet, as you state in this review, the property was "perfectly acceptable". We did not earn premiere host with 5 star status without ensuring that each guests received the personal attention they deserve. Though the strict cancellation policy you agreed to upon booking, does not offer room for refunds, we do offer our apologies for the inconvenience and invite you to book again another three day stay at the expense of The Shaws. As always, we recommend you purchase seperately and addtionally a travel insurance policy that would cover any losses due to extenuating circumstances such as these. Sincerely, The Shaws

We are sure the gps took you the scenic routes, yet, there are several more direct routes that can put you almost anywhere in the city in 20 min.
