Gorgeous View, Disappointing Stay

The property manager was very helpful.
The vacation rental was somewhat dirty.
I was very happy with the location.
I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.

The location and view from Bearfoot Memories are absolutely stunning! This was our fourth (and unfortunately last) stay in this cabin. The mountain view is breathtaking and truly one of the best parts of the experience.That said, the cabin itself really needs some updating and attention. The biggest disappointment this time was the complete lack of streaming services (no Smart TVs at this cabin). In 2025, being told that streaming isnât an option and the only option is satellite TV just isnât accurate. The cabin has WiFi - you just need Smart TVs. If satellite speed is an issue, Starlink is fully available (very fast speeds) at this address. Cold mountain days make you want to cozy up inside and binge your favorite shows, but we couldnât do that here.There were also smaller but telling issues: no pizza pan in the kitchen (we had to buy one at Food City), a beer bottle cap was left on the hot tub which made us question how thoroughly it had been cleaned. We skipped using it altogether because of that. The floor in the main bathroom smelled like urine and was sticky â clearly not cleaned thoroughly. The master shower is also extremely small, with barely any room to move around. The very large windows you see in the photos giving you gorgeous Mountain Viewâs from inside the cabin were once crystal clear. They now have a cloudy film on them, giving it a foggy-like appearance. The location is unbeatable, but the lack of upgrades, cleanliness issues, and outdated amenities have taken away the comfort that used to make this cabin special.
