(About 13 min.).Host was very quick to respond, very friendly, all things were great. Loved it... love the neighborhood ...love the restaurants in Zaandaam. Highly recommended.

The home was perfect and exactly as advertised. Pelle was wonderful to deal with and very responsive to all of our questions. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to stay a short train ride from Schiphol airport or Amsterdam Centraal station. Zandaam is a beautiful, clean community with beautiful shops and excellent restaurants very close by to the home.

This property is in a nice neighborhood of Zaandam and within walking distance to the train station. I would not recommend the property for anyone who might struggle going up and down steep staircases.The host informed us of a broken shower right before we arrived and since the host was out of town it didn't get fixed. It dripped significantly and splashed all over the bathroom floor the whole time we were there. Also the stove hood light was broken, the top rack in the dishwasher was broken, the TV screen had a spot in the middle of it, and the freezer unit of the fridge didn't freeze or provide ice or water. We arrived during a heat wave (there's no AC in the house) and the host said there were 4 fans in the house, which there were, but only 2 actually worked (he blamed "the help" for giving him wrong information about the fans). He did order 2 additional fans to be sent to the house.

Thank you for your stay and for your feedback, Amy. For future guests reading this: the house is a classic Dutch townhouse, and the steep staircases are clearly mentioned in the listing. The house is not advertised with air conditioning. During the unusual heatwave, I had been informed there were four fans in the house. When it became clear that only two fans could be found, I immediately arranged delivery of two additional ones. The shower leak was communicated before arrival. A repair was already planned, but it required the house to be free of guests for a few days, so unfortunately it could not be carried out during Amy’s booking. The issue was a drip from the walk-in shower, causing part of the bathroom floor to become wet. I understand this was inconvenient and offered a goodwill refund afterwards. The freezer issue was reported after check-out. I immediately asked the next guests to check it, and they confirmed the freezer temperature was working normally. I’m sorry the stay did not fully meet expectations, and I appreciate the feedback.

"We had a very enjoyable week-end in this lovely house, very clean, spacious and comfortable. The surrounding is very quiet and nice. The train station is located very nearby with very convenient direct connections to Amsterdam. Even closer you can visit the traditional Dutch windmills on the Zaan. R&R in Zaandam

We really enjoyed our stay at this property in Zaandam. The location was great...the train into Amsterdam was an easy walk from the house...and it was close enough to the high street (grocery store, shopping, eateries, etc.) to make it convenient but not so close that we could hear it. In fact, the neighborhood is quiet...and quite charming. The house is well furnished, the beds and pillows were comfortable and the hot water never failed us (4 fifty-something adults). Communication with the host was easy and I received responses quickly. I would book this property again in a heartbeat!

Beautiful and spacious home in quiet neighborhood

This historic home was a quiet and well-equipped retreat for our family's first visit to Amsterdam. The neighborhood provided easy access to Amsterdam and other areas of the Netherlands by train but was in a quiet residential setting. There were nearby grocery stores and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals in and there were lots of restaurants within walking distance. The washer and dryer were a big help. The Zaandam neighborhood itself was fun to explore and had several canals. The hosts were very helpful with details for a smooth check in and check out. We felt right at home- thank you!

Quiet location a quick train to Amsterdam

We loved this property. I stayed with my parents and my 11 month old son and it was lovely. The property is on a quiet street within a quick walking distance to restaurants and shops in Zaandam. It is a 5 minute walk to the train station and a quick 15 minute train into Amsterdam. It was nice to be in a quiet area after spending time in the busy streets of Amsterdam. The kitchen and living room was a great space and has a door to close off from the stairs which was perfect with a young kid since the stairs are quite steep. Having laundry and the travel crib there was great with the baby and the kitchen is well stocked. Would recommend this to anyone planning a trip.

Eine ruhige Auszeit …

nahe des Trubels in Amsterdam. Das Ferienhaus liegt ideal als Ausgangspunkt, um Amsterdam und die Umgebung zu erkunden. Auch Zaandam lädt zum Verweilen ein. Das gemütliche Haus lässt keine Wünsche offen, die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war super. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Fabulous House and Location

Loved this beautiful home in Zaandam! A wonderful 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home that gave us the opportunity to spread out. It is a short train ride from the airport and Amsterdam. Zaandam is a fabulous town with fantastic restaurants. We truly loved our stay here. The only downside is the very steep stairs but we knew that before renting the place and so glad we did not let them deter us. Highly recommend this home!

Superschönes Ferienhaus, perfekt zum Entspannen.

Das Ferienhaus lag in einer ruhigen Gegend sodass man sich gut entspannen konnte. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten waren in 3 min zu Fuß erreichbar und haben alles geboten um im gemütlichen Garten ein bisschen zu grillen. Ich kann dieses Ferienhaus nur weiterempfehlen.

Location,location,location!

Our 6 person family had a good experience at the property and really enjoyed leaving the busy city of Amsterdam behind and looked forward to returning to the quiet location. Train service was excellent and easy. The beds were comfortable. We were unable to get the oven functioning and I would recommend improved lighting downstairs and a handrail for the bath. Thanks for a great stay and we look forward to getting our damage deposit returned! Tessa and Jack

Das Haus war schön und die Lage sehr gut. Mit der Zug waren es nur 2 Haltestellen nach Amsterdam Central. Ein paar Reperaturen müssten noch durchgeführt werden, aber das wichtigste wie Küche und Bad sind sehr schön.

A get together get away

Lovely property in a very quiet area, but close to the shops and local bars and restaurants in Zaandam. Everything you need is there and communication with Pelle & Viktoria van Hall the owners was relatively quick and easy. Easy walk to train station with a 20 minute ride into central Amsterdam and the trains are regular with usually plenty of spare seats. The train from Schiphol Airport goes straight to Zaandam and if you get the sprinter service it’s a quick and cheap way to get to and from the property. A super place for 3-4 couples to spend a long weekend away and enjoy what Amsterdam has to offer and not ignoring Zaandam itself which is a vibrant place with good night life and a great fresh produce market for when you want to eat in. Highly recommend.

Lovely row house

Our family of seven had a nice stay. The house is not far from the metro, groceries, and restaurants. Stairs are steep with two bedrooms on the third floor. It was hot when we visited in July and the upstairs got up to 33 °. There are small fans in 3 of the 4 bedrooms. The beds are comfortable and bathrooms are nice. The kitchen has everything you need.

Staying in Zaandam

Wonderful stay in Zaandam. House very nice in a Beautiful area. Be prepared for steep stairs compared to North American standards. Great to have grocery store a close walk away. Also short walk to train station and restaurants and stores.
