We really enjoyed our 2 night stay here. Spent lots of time in the pool and outside area, where there is a table we played games at. We didn’t cook, but you could have a nice meal outside. Loungers next to pool were great for reading, relaxing, and you can move chairs to get more or less sun. Very private, even in back by pool. Air conditioning worked well. Need a car to get anywhere, but it’s not far to get to town/beach. I would return here for sure!

This is an absolutely charming house bursting with character but at the same time very practical to live in. It is as pretty as the photographs suggest. There has obviously been careful thought as to what visitors would need in the house to make the stay enjoyable.We found it to be quiet with just the normal life of a village going on around us. In particular we loved the completely private pool with a lovely view, and the front courtyard, which ensured there was always somewhere sunny or shady, depending on your needs.Stelios was particularly helpful with recommendations both before and during our visit.It is quite possible with a car to visit as far west as Rethimno, East to Agios Nikolaos (we liked Kritsa with it's crafts and frescoes) and as far south as Phaestos, which I preferred to Knossos as it was so much more atmospheric.Heraklion itself is an easy 25 minute drive and the port carparks always had spaces, were inexpensive, and an easy walk to the old town and fantastic museum.All in all a lovely base to visit that part of Crete.

Lovely house near Heraklion

It is a very lovely house, very well situated to visit Heraklion and other sites in the center of Crete. Altough the house is in a village, it is very calm. Stelios, the owner, is very gentle and answers queries. We would definitely recommend it.

Absolute stunning house in the middle of a little Greek village. Everything was just perfect - so quiet and within beautiful Cretan nature. For trips to the beach or shopping tours you definitely will need a car but then you can expect a perfect stay

Lovely, mostly quiet and peaceful

Stelios and his family met us at the property and showed us around. The villa is lovely with a perfect small pool, clean tidy and well provisioned. There was a religious festival one day and the neighbours were playing music late into the night - the rest of the week all was quiet and peaceful. A couple of small problems were sorted out quickly and efficiently by Stelios after an exchange of What’sApp messages. Thank you for a great stay

Stelios and Maria were very welcoming and always available if we needed anything. The accommodation offered us everything we needed and was well located for trips to the beach, Heraklion and the airport. Some good recommendations from Stelios so try those out. We had welcome gifts when we arrived and Stelios’ parents next door also kindly dropped in some fruit. Enjoy the sounds of the countryside and the cicadas and make the booking. You won’t be disappointed.

Wonderful two weeks, no complaints at all!

We have just returned from Villa Agrielia after having a wonderful and relaxing 14 days holiday. Many thanks to our hosts Stelios, Maria and family for your friendliness and hospitality helping us to enjoy our stay. The villa is beautifully decorated in a traditional stone wall and wooden ceiling style situated in a quiet village. It is an ideal base for exploring if you so wish, but car is essential if you are out every day. We made use of the bikes riding to Episkopi on several occasions and found people so friendly they really make you feel at home. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend the villa to family and friends.

Relaxing rural retreat

We loved our stay at Villa Agreilia. It is large, very comfortable, well-equipped, and the pool and terrace area are stunning. Thoughtful provision of some fresh eggs, water, olive oil and raki. Extremely good and easy communication before and throughout our stay. Stelios also sent many excellent recommendations (shops, restaurants, beach clubs etc). You definitely need a car but it is easy to get around and Villa Agreilia made the perfect base for exploring the north of the island. Very conveniently located for Heraklion airport (20 mins drive). We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay here and were very sad when our holiday came to an end. Yamas Stelios and Maria!

Wonderful Villa

We had the most wonderful week at the Villa, we could have stayed longer very easily. It offered everything we needed. You absolutely need a car but the neighbouring villages have lovey little restaurants and mini fruit and veg shops. Lidl is only 18 minutes drive and has everything you need. The Cicada beach bar / restaurant / sunbeds was amazing well worth a visit and again only 15 mins away Our hosts were incredible, super responsive and offered recommendations of restaurants, bars and beaches and ordered us taxis on departure. Amazing villa

My mom is from Crete and i have been many times. We have always stayed with family in Heraklion. This time we decided to rent a villa in a more quiet part of Heraklion. The villa was amazing and was exacttay as described. I loved the stone architecture throughout the villa and differently fit with the old world theme of the village. It was very spacious and my kids enjoyed the pool while I enjoyed the view. Village was small and quiet. Exactly what i was looking for. On arrival we were greeted by the wonderful Stelios & Maria. Welcome goodies where ready for us & the owners showed us around. They were more than helpful to advise local authentic restaurants & places to visit. The Mini-market had all we needed just a few minutes from the Villa. The bikes were ready & any problems, Stelios was on hand to sort. This Villa was so beautiful inside & maintained to a very high standard throughout. I can highly recommend for a relaxing break. July Crete 2024

The house is exactly as shown in the photos. The owner met us on arrival and showed us how everything worked. He and his wife had also left enough food for us to eat that night as our flight was in very late and the shops were closed. The property is very beautiful and private. You definitely need a car to get there and travel around. The surrounding village has supermarkets and a bakery. There are also several cafes and restaurants. It is only about 20 mins from the airport which was very handy. The villagers were very friendly and helpful. I know another reviewer mentioned the cicadas, which are very noisy but they are very noisy all over Crete so hard to avoid.

A very quiet and peaceful stay. Villa is located 20 mins inland from the airport. You need a car to access as its located in a small village at the top of a very steep hill. However acces is simple, one long very well yarmaced road.The villa is very well restored in traditional stone and restored to a high level. Air con is in all bedrooms, but not downstairs in the living room /dinner or kitchen. But because it’s solid stone downstairs, it’s always cool.The outlook to the rear is tranquil and the view is of the surrounding countryside The villa is not overlooked and private. The host - Stelios is a friendly nice guy. He met us on arrival and provided water, eggs and wine FOC for our first night. He only came agin when the cleaners came to change the beelined, towels and clean around. He is always available via WhatsApp if requiredOverall a very pleaaant ans relaxing stay - but having a car is a must

The villa is beautiful. It is very well equipped with everything we needed - we really couldn't fault it! It's very spacious, with seating areas outside at the front, back and on the balcony, so there's always a sunny spot (or shady spot if you prefer!). The beds are very comfortable, and all the bedrooms have air conditioning so it's very pleasant even in the height of summer. The pool is a great size and provided so much fun for us all. Stelios, the host, is so friendly and helpful!The village of Sgourokefali is lovely and quiet, and the locals are very friendly. It has a very small minimart with basic groceries, and a bakery selling fresh bread and delicious fresh pastries, so you don't really need to leave the village! Episkopi is a 30 mins walk away where there are more shops including 2 larger supermarkets, a taverna and a lovely (and very reasonably priced) restaurant which we ate at quite a few times.We decided not to hire a car, but on the days we did leave the village, we used a taxi, which cost between 40-60 EUR each way to places like Knossos, Heraklion and Water City. It was easy to get a taxi at Heraklion airport when we arrived, even though there were 5 of us. The same taxi driver gave us his number and we messaged him on Whatsapp when we needed a taxi during our stay, and I'm sure others would do the same.We would definitely stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone!

Maison campagne avec piscine pour famille

Maison très agréable, spacieuse avec piscine et jolie terrasse. Nous avons plus profité de l’extérieur de la villa, bercés par le chant des cigales très présent en journée mais qui s’éteint dès le coucher du soleil. Stelios est soucieux de notre confort. Ménage et changement du linge en milieu de séjour. Hormis d’Heraklion, la maison est assez éloignée des sites touristiques. Voiture obligatoire et ne pas être réfractaire au temps de trajet ! Mais pour nous, séjour parfait !

Très belle maison au coeur de l’île

Villa très propre à notre arrivée. La femme de ménage passe également en milieu de semaine ce qui est un plus. (Changement de linges de lit et serviettes) Le propriétaire est facilement joignable et très sympathique. Parking à côté de la maison, vélo mis à disposition pour se balader aux alentours des champs d’Oliviers. Les chambres sont bien équipées avec moustiquaire et clim. Encore merci à Stélios pour le séjour !

Un séjour formidable

Nous venons de passer 15 jours à la villa Agrielia et le séjour était parfait. Au delà de l accueil de Stelios qui est venu nous accueillir à l aéroport, la découverte de la villa a été un réel enchantement. Les chambres sont spacieuses et climatisées, ce qui en cette période de canicule a été très appréciable tout comme la piscine avec une vue sur la campagne environnante. La cuisine est très bien équipée et les petites attentions de Maria et Stelios comme la mise à disposition d huile d olive, de café, de condiments et même d œufs, de vin et de raki ont été de très bonne surprises. Il faut bien sûr une voiture pour visiter les alentours mais de nombreuses activités et lieux de visites sont à moins d 1 h de route. La 1 ère plage est à 20mn, le musee archéologique et la Palais de Knossos également. En résumé, si nous devions à nouveau venir en Crete nous reviendrons sans aucun doute chez Stelios et Maria dont la gentillesse, la discrétion mais aussi la disponibilité en cas de besoins nous ont beaucoup touchés.

Location TOP et les propriaitaires géniaux !!!

Nous avons réservé cette maison pour 6 adultes et un bébé. Toutes nos attentes ont été comblées...Maison superbe et très bien entretenue, grande chambre, cuisine bien équipée, salle de bain au top, superbe de vue de la piscine, endroit très calme. Et surtout Propriétaires exceptionnels (Grand merci à Stelios et Maria). nous conseillons vivement cette villa, pour des vacances entre amis ou en famille. Situé en dessous d Héraklion, cela permet de visiter l'ile assez facilement car central (prévoir environ 3h en voiture pour La Canée au plus loin)

Séjour superbe

Ma famille et moi-même avons passé un très agréable séjour en Crète. La villa AgrielIa a répondu en tous points à nos attentes. C'est une superbe villa, très bien équipée et avec beaucoup de charme. La villa est extrêmement bien entretenue avec un excellent service de ménage. L'accueil de Stelios et de son épouse a été très chaleureux. Nous espérons bien faire un prochain séjour en Crète afin de découvrir encore les trésors de cette île.

Uitstekende locatie voor een aangenaam en rustig verblijf op Kreta. Alle faciliteiten zijn hiervoor aanwezig en de begeleiding en ondersteuning van eigenaar Stelios zijn buitengewoon!Een echte aanrader voor wie een zorgelozen vakantie op Kreta wil doorbrengen in een rustig dorp waar je alle voorzieningen kan aantreffen en van waaruit je makkelijk alle mooie plekjes in midden-Kreta kan bereiken. Heraklion stad en de kust (met tal van aantrekkelijke beaches) zijn op 20 minuten te bereiken met de wagen.Evengoed kan je er op de locatie zelf zonnebaden van 's morgens vroeg in een ongestoorde omgeving en met volledige privacy.Dikke pluim voor onze gastheer Stelio!Kaatje en Erwin
