Mascali: Villa Luna Rossa : villa de bord de mer élégant et animé, complètement indépendant entre Taormina, Catane et le Mont Etna.

Villa, récemment restaurée, style fougueux et intérieur cosy, avec une touche de typiques siciliens dans le jardin et dans la maison de bois à l'extérieur. Chambres de grandes proportions, lumineuses, avec de hauts plafonds. Au rez de chaussée se compose de deux portes d'accès à la villa et deux principales pour le jardin, 3 chambres, salle de séjour et de salle de bains avec douche. Dans le jardin, un charmant pavillon en bois avec cuisine complète et salle à manger, se félicite en outre le grand jardin de la villa avec espace barbecue, pergola avec table, chaises et transats et hamacs. Au premier étage se compose d'une grande cuisine avec coin repas, chambre avec balcon donnant sur le Mont Etna et une large terrasse avec vue sur la mer et l'Etna. Emplacement idéal pour voyager le long de la côte ionienne avec les plus belles villes et villages, montagne et mer, pas plus de 30 min vers toutes les destinations. L'Etna se trouve juste derrière vous ; depuis le jardin ou sur la terrasse panoramique, vous pourrez admirer sa beauté et si vous êtes chanceux, même certains lave. La plage est juste en face de la villa, avec un accès direct à quelques mètres. Au cours de l'été, nous serons heureux de vous offrir pendant toute la durée de votre séjour * entrée + parasol et lits * « Lido Luna Rossa », établissement de bains et plage privée à proximité, où vous pouvez accéder à tous les services que le lido propose à ses clients une routine quotidienne et (Bar, restaurant, Beach-Volley, Ping pong, mini club, animation...) et ont toujours un point de référence pour toute nécessité.

Perfectly situated across from the beach. The house itself is large, as is the garden and easily fit us. It does suffer from disrepair.

Nice location, many issues, overpriced

There were many issues, some were fixed within the first week, some were not fixed until we left (distroyed BBQ). Sometimes we had to tell the owner twice to fix something (broken bed). Rattling fan in the kitchen (noosy), A/C was working in all rooms. The rooms were big. Ant poison was on the terrace when we arrived (unsafe for small children). Always lock all doors when you leave the premise as the garden and terrace were publicly accessible from the outside. Old and worn furniture, some things were unsafe for small kids. Cutlery was not enough for 2 meals (we were 9 people). The location was great, the lido staff was amesome, the walls of the house inside and outside were freshly renovated prior our stay, new pots were there. Nice toys for the kids were there. No english introduction to the house, key was not working properly (got replacement after 3 days), Wifi was not working but fixed after 3 days, mold in the shower (removed after 3 days), ants in the bathroom and kitchen (dishwasher). Garden wooden furniture was worn and unsafe for small children. Shade in the garden all day. The pool was dirty from the beginning and cleaned once. The tanks and visible pumps dont look nice. The aboveground pool is not made for elderly people as it is really hard for them to get in and out. Partly, the garden was bare earth and crawling todlers get dirty. The bed frames were old and some rattling. We didnt understand the garbage situation (sometimes it was picked up, sometimes not).

La villa était idéale pour notre groupe de 6 adultes et 6 enfants. Nous avons passé un agréable séjour. La vue sur l'Etna depuis la terrasse est très belle et il suffit de traverser la route pour accéder à la plage. La maison est assez vieillotte et la salle de bain à l'étage est petite. Les chambres sont assez grandes et les lits confortables. Les enfants n'ont pas profité de la piscine car elle n'était pas opérationnelle. Dommage. Le parking est un plus surtout en période estivale. Hors saison un peu mort mais on s'y attendait. Nous avons beaucoup visité la région.

Beau cadre de séjour avec bel accueil.

Très bien accueillis dans la villa : petites attentions, parking à disposition. Vanna est toujours à l’écoute et réponds rapidement à toute question. L’accès directe à la mer est très agréable. Vue sur l’Etna. Le jardin a été notre espace de vie toute la semaine. Les chambres sont grandes. On recommande.

La maison est bien placée et fonctionnelle. La climatisation est appréciable au mois d'août. La terrasse avec vue sur l'etna est unique !!

Bonjour, l'emplacement du logement est remarquable! Devant la plage ET l'Etna! En semaine, le site est tranquille et parfait. Le week-end ,c'est un peu plus animé. L'état général du logement est bien, quoique la cuisine pourrait etre amélioré. Nous y avons passé une très belle semaine!PLUS: accès au Lido gratuitement et très bon service de Giovanni et son équipe.MOINS: piscine non fonctionnelle, terrasse au sol bcp moins attrayante que sur les photos (mais la terrasse au toit était parfaite!)

Lovely!

The Villa was excellent for our group of 10. From the grandkids to the grandparents we all enjoyed our vacation. There was plenty of space, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchens but we would have another umbrella in the BBQ area so that we could enjoy it even in the morning. The staff is great as well.

Thank you for a great holiday

We had a lovely 10 days in your clean, spacious villa. Perfect for a family of two adults and two teenagers looking to relax and explore the beautiful island of Sicily. We loved the 4x4 tour of etna you organised for us and we explored the local towns and villages. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the food good and inexpensive. The Lido, just across the road was very welcoming and a great place to swim though the fantastic villa garden was also well used. Dinner on the roof terrace overlooked by etna was definitely a highlight though. We were well looked after by Chiara and knew that if there was a problem it would be sorted. Initially we had an issue with a swarm of ants but once the cleaners spotted them they responded quickly and by the end of the day the ants had been cleared and we never saw another one in the villa all holiday. Some items in the house were not working but nothing that caused us a problem and when we told Chiara she responded well and I am sure they were replaced as soon as possible. Great villa, great location, beautiful island. Thank you

house in great location across road from beach and lido. Garden wonderful for a large group.

We were a group of six adults and three children plus a two month old baby, three generations of a family. The location of the property was great, just as advertised. We had a couple of problems which Chiara set about remedying immediately. The airconditioner in the kitchen wasn't working and, being July, it was very hot up there but Chiara organised fans immediately. The house could have benefitted from some maintenance work. We also had an ant problem, which Chiara also promptly set about trying to fix, although not entirely successfully. We really appreciated having a washing machine, an electric kettle and a toaster - none of which we had at other rentals in Sicily. Dishwasher also appreciated. Would really like to give the property a 4.5 rating.

Villa Luna Rossa a Wonderful Place to Stay

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Luna Rossa. Giovanni and his team were very helpful for everything we needed and they ensured we had an amazing stay in Sicily. The villa is minutes away from the beach with access to the Lido Luna Rossa beach resort which was very comfortable/beautiful. The villa is modern with full amenities and has everything you would need for a great beach vacation in Sicily. Also, very quick access to Taormina and Catania. We loved our time here and would definitely go back. Thank-you Giovanni and Team!!!!

Villa correcte et spacieuse, mais quelques défauts

Nous avons passé une semaine à deux familles (3 adultes, 6 enfants) à la villa Luna Rossa. Elle a indéniablement des qualités, mais aussi quelques défauts. Pour les qualités: 1) Elle est très proche de la plage, il suffit de traverser la route devant la maison, et on a accès à une plage privée et une petite plage publique. La location de la maison donne accès gratuitement à la plage privée (parasol, transat), ce qui est bien pratique. La mer est très belle, c'est une plage de galets agréable. Mais il y a pas mal de monde. Cela dit, l'ambiance est relax et familiale, et c'est sympathique, on nage avec vue sur l'Etna, c'est agréable. 2) La région permet de combiner balades en montagne sur l'Etna et plage, activités de canyoning, et quelques villes agréables, dont Taormina. On ne s'ennuie donc pas en une semaine ! 3) La maison possède un jardin assez sympathique, avec de l'herbe, de l'ombre, une piscine hors-sol dont profitent bien les enfants et les plus grands, un barbecue, une table extérieure sous les vignes, une cuisine et frigo extérieurs. 4) la maison est assez spacieuse, avec une belle terrasse sur le toit qui donne vue sur l'Etna et (un peu) sur la mer, mais aussi sur la route. 5) la maison est dans l'ensemble bien équipée. Concernant les défauts, ou aspects moins agréables: 1) la localisation est assez bruyante. Il y a du trafic sur la route, de la musique dans les bars de la plage, un parking à l'arrière de la maison, etc... on a rarement une nuit tranquille, et le week-end est très bruyant. Difficile de dormir avec les fenêtres ouvertes, et donc il fait chaud (cela dit, il y a la climatisation si nécessaire). 2) Il y a beaucoup de fourmis dans et autour de la maison: dans les chambres, dans le four, dans le hamac,... difficile de profiter pleinement du jardin. 3) La maison est assez humide, et pas très adaptée aux asthmatiques. Le mobilier n'est pas bien entretenu (parasol cassé) 4) Elle est annoncée pour 15 personnes, mais il y a 4 chambres. En réalité, c'est plutôt adapté à 8-10 personnes. La table de la terrasse est adaptée à 6-7 personnes. 5) Bien que plutôt spacieuse, la maison n'est pas très pratique, avec sa cuisine à l'étage. Dans l'ensemble nous avons passé une semaine agréable, mais pour ce prix, je pense qu'il est possible de trouver une maison mieux entretenue et plus calme. Néanmoins, si le bruit et les fourmis ne vous dérangent pas, et que vous voulez être près de la mer et de l'Etna, c'est une maison sympathique.

Cher Bruno, merci pour votre commentaire si détaillé, toutes vos suggestions sont très importantes pour toujours améliorer nos services. Je vais d’abord m’excuser pour le problème des fourmis, qu’on vient de résoudre grâce à une désinsectisation bien soignée. Je suis vraiment désolée que cet inconvénient vous a dans quelque mesure embêté. On a aussi remplacé le parasol cassé sur la terrasse et pour la prochaine saison nous avons prévu des travaux de rénovation de la maison (à juin on a déjà renouvelé tous les deux salles de bains et on a ajouté la piscine) pour rendre le séjour chez nous parfait! Le but de notre équipe est celui de faire toujours mieux! Comme vous avez souligné, la maison et le jardin sont très grands et même si il y a seulement 4 chambres, elles sont très spacieuses pour loger 13-14 personnes en total (dans le séjour il y a aussi un canapé-lit). La proximité à la mer et à la plage privée, où on est heureux d’accueillir gratuitement tous nos hôtes, est sans doute le point fort de la villa, dans une position idéale pour profiter au maximum d’une vacance en Sicile! Cela dit, je vous remercie encore une fois pour avoir choisi notre maison… ce sera un vrai plaisir de vous avoir à nouveau comme nos hôtes ici à Villa Luna Rossa ! :) A presto ! Team SunTripSicily

Fabulous villa

We had a great week in this fabulous spacious villa, although to be fair we only went indoors to sleep and to fetch something from the fridge! The garden is perfect for outdoor living and we had great weather for it. There is lots of shade under trees and the pergola when it gets too hot and an open lawn area with sun beds for those wanting to scorch. The little swimming pool was very welcome and we used it a lot for cooling off on the hottest days in the garden. We didn't have children with us, but there is a mini playground in the corner of the garden which youngsters will enjoy. There is an outdoor kitchen and a brick barbecue in the garden which we used a couple of evenings, sitting out in shorts and t-shirts till midnight. The views of Etna from the terrace off the kitchen upstairs are simply stunning. Expect some pops and rumbles and you'll find yourself checking her for changes in colour and quantity of smoke all holiday. Keep the air con on indoors all the time, otherwise you will get ants. They were the only irritation, apart from fireworks that seem to go off at all hours for no apparent reason, and the garden backs onto a car park, which occasionally is a bit noisy if you are quietly reading a book in the shade. Giovanni will arrange for taxis or bicycle hire if, like us, you do not want to hire a car. You are within walking distance of several shops and restaurants, particularly to the north. I would also recommend eating at Le Botti in Riposto overlooking the sea. And you must have a trip to the amphitheatre in Taormina, if only for the views of the coastline - you need to climb to the top where a path runs around the building. I would also recommend a 4x4 trip up Etna if you are fit enough for the walking – my daughters/husband really enjoyed this. Giovanni can arrange if you wish. The Lido opposite the house is great if you are into a grid of sunbeds and line dancing in a bikini (can you tell I am not?!). Good fun I'm sure, with the right crowd. One last thing, between the Lidos the Sicilians should be ASHAMED of the rubbish they leave on the beaches.

Perfect position for a relaxing stay!

We stayed at Villa Luna Rossa for just over a week and it was spectacular! It's perfectly located across the road from the beach and the lidos, which was great for those extra hot days. Giovanni was exceptionally helpful and provided us with a lot of information about Fondachello and the surrounding areas to visit as well as some of his favourite restaurants and cafes. When we arrived he met us at the Villa and was very thorough about how everything worked especially the air conditioning. It was such a luxury to have since the nights were hot! There were eight of us in the Villa and we each stayed extremely comfortably, having our own space was a blessing. Giovanni was very accommodating and if we needed any assistance or clarification on anything we were able to contact him and received an almost immediate response. It was definitely our most peaceful and relaxing week of our holiday by far and I'm so glad we decided to stay at Villa Luna Rossa. We will definitely be recommending this to our friends and families and can't wait to go back!

Entre mer et volcan...

La maison est assez spacieuse pour 2 familles avec enfants(2),très belle vue sur l'Etna depuis la terrasse et il suffit de traverser la route pour accéder à la plage. La maison est fort humide surtout à l'étage(1 ch en haut) et les murs en souffrent... Sdb fort petite à l'étage et vieillotte en bas,sinon,eau chaude en suffisance,chauffage ok Accès aisé et parking. Je recommande cette location surtout à la belle saison. Accueil sympathique de Giovanni,même un jour férié et à une heure tardive...merci! Hors saison,un peu mort mais on s'y attendait,nous avons bcp visité la région.

Bella casa per le vacanze piacevoli

Siamo contenti di avere scelto La villa Luna Rossa per le nostre vacanze. La pianificazione della casa e del giardino è spaziosa e piacevole. E una casa in una posizione ideale: tranquillo, vicino al mare, con una bella vista sull'Etna a due minuti (colla macchina) dei negozi, panifici, gelaterie, mercato del pesce et frutti di stagione... Abbiamo apprezzato l'accoglienza calorosa, disponibile e generosa del proprietario. Consiglieremmo questa villa a tutte le famiglie numerose o a quelli che vogliono passare delle vacanze con gli amici.

Ottime vacanze siciliane

Giovanni e la sua squadra sono stati proprio gentilissimi con noi. L'accoglienza e davvero una tradizione siciliana e si vede arrivando a casa loro. L'Etna ci ha fatto una belle sorpresa con quest'eruzione enorme e incantevole. Anche la neve era a posto.... Grazie mille per questo soggiorno e speriamo di tornare anche d'estate !!

"Everything was perfect. A gift basket was waiting for us, so lovely! We were 7 adults and we had enough place to live, enough hot water etc... Giovanni is very welcoming and available when it''s needed. We had fun together! I highly recommend."

"Staying at Fondachello V...

"Staying at Fondachello Villa was excellent. We were 4 adults + 1 baby. The house has many spacious rooms, good kitchen, good shower with hot water, close to the beach with a good view from the balcony. Everyone had their own space. Giovanni took care of anything we needed. They supplied a basket of great fruits, and things they make (tomato sauce, pastries, wine). We stayed at 3 different locations in Sicily, and this one had the best value for our money. Highly recommended."

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

The Villa is in a perfect position, just in front of the beach and within a few kilometers from the most beautiful places worth a visit in the eastern Sicily. From Fondachello (in the town of Mascali) you can easily get to GIARDINI NAXOS and TAORMINA in less then 15/20min by Car. Catania is reachable in 30min. You can be in the natural park of Mt.Etna in 20min (starting from the house that is on the beach and the thing that you can have both beach and mountain is such small time is awesome). The Villa is also completely independent and our guests always loved it. We start in 2012 renting our Villa trying with a few weeks but then we saw how guests were enthusiastic about the area and the Villa that we choose to rent it during the whole year and also rent some other exclusive property that belong to us.

A waterfront villa: the pebbles beach is just crossing the street.
In summer time, from the last week of May to the first week of September, we will be glad to offer you * entry + umbrella + beds * at Lido Luna Rossa' bathhouse located within walking distance, where you can access all services for all the duration of your stay .
The villa is perfect to host large families or big groups of friends (till sixteen people).
The cycle line is just crossing the street along all the waterfront.
