Amazin place. Great space, nice pool, very comfortable for a family of until 6 people. Exceptional attention from Mario and his son. We really felt as if we were in our own house.

Very luxurious apartment. Was very spacious. Perfect for 2 couples or a family.

Beautiful apartment in a stone house with stunning view over the valley. Very spacious. Perfect for two couples or a family. Good as a destination or a base for other day trips. Communications with hosts was very good and the food supplies they provided for our first day was very much appreciated. The pool was very large and very refreshing after a day of touring.

One of our favourite places in Portugal!!

Seriously this place is nothing but amazing. The hosts were so kind, friendly and always willing to provide any advice we needed. The apartment itself has a fantastic location. You are close enough to braga if you need anything but you truly get a country experience. The place had everything we needed plus more. It was roomy and spacious. The pool was a great way to cool off and spend some time. Highly recommend this place to anyone.

Beautiful house with a great view

We spent a wonderful week at Casa do Alto. The very spacious house and the surroundings are exceptionally beautiful, the pool is even larger than we thought. A very very special place! Margaret and Mario are great hosts and could not have been kinder. We felt right at home and are already checking our dates for next year. Thank you for a fabulous holiday!

Lovely country house

Beautiful location and wonderful, rustic farm house with all the amenities you could want. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Central to all the sights in the Minho region of Portugal. A great stretch of the old Roman road was just outside the gate and made for a wonderful morning walk. We were there during Easter week and able to enjoy the festivities. The only drawback was the unusually rainy weather but still managed to have a great time. I would definitely want to come back during warmer weather and enjoy the pool and the great outdoor ameneties.

Had a marvellous seven days at Casa do Alto . Michael and Tania are fantastic hosts who can't do enough to help you enjoy your stay. From recommending restaurants to letting us know interesting places to visit. They even help us sort out a problem with our hire car. The apartment has lovely views over the valley and is situated in its own garden of Eden where everything is abundant . It is only a few minutes from Braga by car and around six euro's in an Uber! It also boasts a large swimming pool which has its own superb over the valley. Also fantastic showers and bathrooms , its a really luxurious , relaxing experience and would highly recommend

Rustic Country simplicity

Pros: We loved being in the countryside, views, sunsets,birdsong. The hosts were gracious and attentive.Of course the great swimming pool was not on our agenda since it was still cold in March.In the apartment the hosts had made a great effort to supply all “mod cons”plus iron and ironing board, etc. A lovely surprise was the array of foods provided on our arrival. The nearby restaurant Elvira was excellent.Cons: The various kitchen appliances were scattered across the kitchen area and in the room with the water heater, obviously an afterthought of the design.The beds were old and narrow doubles, the pullout couch sagged. The lighting in the living room was glaring.However, overall, the price is right.

Wonderview views

The house is high up in the mountains over steep streets. The Caso do Alto on Google Maps slightly deviates from the actual entrance. Use the coordinates given by the owner instead. You arrive at a gate which the owners will open for you. We were warmly greeted by Tania, and her family, and the dog (which they kept on a leash during our stay). The upper apartment, which is next to the owners, has wonderful views from the small balcony. The rooms are very spacious, and they are all airconditioned (although we hardly used it due to the cool breeze in the evenings). The pool is very large, and open to the owners and the renters of the second apartment. It is some stairs away from the apartment. We had a wonderful bbq at the poolside. In conclusion, we had a wonderful stay, and would definitely stay here again.

Les hôtes sont exceptionnellement gentils et prévenants. Piscine exceptionnelle au milieu des arbres fruitiers. Parasols et fauteuils en quantité. Séjour magnifique!

Magnifique séjour à la Casa do Alto! Il faisait très chaud alors nous avons grandement apprécié la climatisation et la piscine! La maison est très grande. À 6, nous n'étions pas entassés. Le terrain est superbe et il y a un petit sentier de randonnée ( sur une voie romaine datant de 2000 ans) juste au bout du terrain. Les hôtes sont juste parfaits!

Un lieu exceptionnel

Un lieu exceptionnel, très bien situé et avec une vue superbe ! Beaucoup d'espace a l'intérieur et aussi a l'extérieur, le jardin est superbe et la piscine immense. Un accueil très chaleureux de Tania et Michael qui sont adorables et au petits soins pour les vacanciers. Un endroit a découvrir dans une région magnifique, de quoi passer des vacances inoubliables !

Quiet and peaceful

Great place to unwind. Large pool with BBQ, plenty of pool loungers etc. Slight walk to the pool area, but well lit at night. The owners were lovely and very helpful; very knowledgable about what’s going on in the locality. The accommodation was comfortable and well equipped. Great place to chill out.

Parfait

L'appartement où nous logions et spacieux, magnifique et très bien entretenu. La propriété est paradisiaque avec sa piscine, son verger et sa vue splendide sur la vallée. De plus, la propriété est proche des commerces et de nombreux sont à visiter dans les parages, ce qyi en fait un point d'encrage parfait pour visiter cette jolie région. Enfin, nos hôtes, Magaret et Mario, parlent très bien français et sont toujours de bons conseils pour les visites, restaurants et loisirs....

Formidable séjour à la CASA DO ALTO

Nous avons passé 2 très agréables semaines à la CASA DO ALTO. Les prestations sont à la hauteur : nous étions 2 familles de 4 personnes et nous logions dans l'appartement du haut, largement spacieux et propre. La piscine a été très appréciée. Peggy et Mario sont aux petits soins tout en sachant rester discrets : toujours de bons conseils pour les sites à visiter. Nous recommandons sans hésitation et surtout, nous conservons l'adresse pour un éventuel nouveau séjour au Portugal. Karine.

EXCELLENT SEJOUR

Nous venons de passer deux semaines entre amis (deux couples avec enfants) et sommes enchantés de notre séjour à la casa do alto. Peggy et Mario sont chaleureux et accueillants et donnent de très bons conseils sur les sites à découvrir ou les bonnes adresses. Le logement, très propre, est grand et spacieux et bien équipé. EXCELLENT SEJOUR

Nous avons passé avec nos deux enfants un excellent séjour chez Peggy et Mario. Logement très propre, très grand. Confort et calme... La propriété est très bien entretenue, très belle piscine. Tout est parfait ! Les propriétaires sont aux petits soins. Couple extrêmement charmant (Mario parle plusieurs langues dont le Français, et Peggy parle également le Français). Très bon conseil de la part des propriétaires sur les points forts à découvrir dans la région (lac, balade...) Très belle région pour les amoureux de la nature ! A fantastic stay!

Like the pictures on the website? In reality, the Casa do Alto is even more beautiful: the apartment is spacious, clean and very comfortable, the pool a real treat and the garden full of orange and other fruit trees is a little paradise. The place is great for kids and families. Most of all, the hosts, Peggy and Mario, were extremely friendly and helpful: they gave us many tips for restaurants, day trips &c. That was a five star experience, highly recommended.

Appartement boven op een berg met een schitterend uitzicht. Fijne locatie van waaruit je leuke uitstapjes kunt maken. Warme ontvangst door de eigenaren.Geweldig groot zwembad dat je moet delen met 1 ander appartement en de eigenaars, maar feitelijk heb je geheel voor jezelf! Je kunt daar ook barbecueën.

Amazing house!

The house was fantastic. Super luxury and had absolutely anything we needed. We were 3 families sharing 2 floors. We have arrived in the afternoon and they have offered a lunch that was prepared for us, great surprise! House is authentic and beautiful, with all the amenities that you wish for. Our kid and us enjoyed big pool with amazing views . It’s one of the bay places we have stayed in!

Luxurious villa retreat

Lovely apartment with gorgeous views, huge bedrooms and a comfortable living and dining area. Close to many towns, historic sites, restaurants and shopping. We had a wonderful stay , enjoyed all the amenities such as barbecues and a large pool. Our hosts Mario and Peggy ensured we saw all the sights, helped us with information on all things Portuguese. Would loved to have stayed longer. Would highly recommend !
