Commune avec alpagas sur 8 acres de belles!

Charmant appartement d'une chambre dans une ferme d'alpaga! Les clients sont accueillis chaque matin par deux alpagas, Beethoven et Sebastian, qui viendront à votre porte de la cuisine, dans l'espoir d'être nourri une pomme. L'appartement au niveau du sol dispose d'un grand manger dans la cuisine, salon, bureau cosy 'coin', salle de bains (avec une laverie) et une entrée séparée. Internet haut débit et Wi-Fi sont disponibles. Belle vue sur les collines de la cuisine, calme et paisible.

Que vous assistiez à une remise de diplôme à l'un des cinq collèges de la région ou de nombreuses écoles privées ou cherchant simplement un moment tranquille d'une existence pressé, un séjour au Nid du hibou fera de votre visite un moment inoubliable. Visites à l'ouest du comté au début du printemps pour les crêpes et sirop d'érable légendaire, le rafting et des visites de tyrolienne en été, les festivals d'automne en Octobre et L'hiver le ski à la proximité de Berkshire East pistes de ski sont quelques autres raisons de venir à notre rencontre.

Parce que nous avons notre propre alpagas et merveilleuse Gt. Pyrénées chiot, nous ne permettons pas d'autres animaux sur la propriété. Nous espérons, cependant, que vous pourrez profiter de la nôtre!

Il ya une politique d'interdiction de fumer sur les lieux. On voudra respirer l'air frais et pur de ce cadre enchanteur et profiter de l'observation des étoiles dans un ciel noir parfaite dans la nuit.

Amazing Stay!

Caroline was an amazing host. She went out of her way to make us feel accommodated and comfortable. The place is lovely, quiet, and clean. Her alpacas, Sebastian and Peanut, were a huge bonus in our stay and are both adorable and very friendly. Would highly recommend!

Wintry Alpaca Wonderland

I had such a lovely stay at the Owl's Nest! My short visit was also the visit of some real wintry weather, and Caroline stayed in close touch with me to ensure a safe arrival and cozy stay. Her incredibly warm welcome and country hospitality were terrific, and starting each morning with the dogs and alpacas was a country dream. I'll be going back for sure!

Greeted in AM with friendly alpacas waiting for their slices of apples. Whole apt well equipped for a long stay. Hostess friendly, helpful and conscientious. Loved our stay!

Fall Foliage Getaway

Great country hideaway. A different and wonderful experience to meet and feed the pet alpacas. The gorgeous dog Daisy, big as a pony, gentle as a bunny. Such a sweetie. The area is very historical and was beautiful this time of year

Hits the mark

My teens and I stayed at Caroline’s for 4 nights and we really enjoyed the coolness of the lower level even with mid-summer heat outside. Charmingly appointed. Lots of wildlife nearby, and the alpaca are fun to feed.

Charming apartment in woodsy area

I loved the rustic charm, woodsy area, proximity to UMass and beautiful Shelburne Falls. Comfortable and relaxing. I loved feeding the alpacas Peanut and Sebastien apples in the morning. Daisy (dog) was also super sweet. Great view of the stars also.

Perfect country retreat

Caroline was incredibly nice and great to talk to, and the alpacas were wonderful. The place was beautifully equipped and comfortable, and a perfect spot for two old friends to catch up with wine and food and nonstop conversation in front of the fire. It feels far from civilization but is actually quite close to Shelburne Falls.

A special place

What a lovely place. So cozy, so well equipped, so delightful. We enjoyed every moment of our stay. Beethoven and Sebastian were perfect gentlemen and wonderful ambassadors. It was great to have a full kitchen, and everything worked perfectly. Caroline was a terrific host, helpful with suggestions about the area and solicitous of our experience at Owl’s Nest. Really a wonderful time.

We just absolutely loved our stay here. The flat itself is cozy, with a modern kitchen and a living room that's perfect for sitting and reading or chatting.The alpacas are delightful and you can feed them apple slices. There are also two beautiful dogs.And then there's Caroline, who owns the farm. She's a lovely person and gave us so many good tips about where to go and what to see. I would have completely missed the Bridge of Flowers, for instance, if she hasn't mentioned it.The farm is also close to a lot of interesting places -- we visited MassMOCA, and Raven Books in Shelbourne Falls, got delicious ice cream in Northampton and breakfast in Ashfield. Overall a delightful experience

A very pleasant stay!

The owner, Caroline, was very welcoming and always immediately responsive to any of my emails. She was a gracious hostess, helping us to know what was available in the area. The pictures really didn't do the place justice. The apartment was adorable and had such fun personality. Everything we needed was there. The setting was beautiful. Sitting outside, all you could here was nature. A lovely opportunity to relax and reset. And then there were Sebastian and Peanut, the alpacas. They visited regularly, charmed us into feeding them apples and were super fun. We would definitely make a return visit.

Cute Rural Hobby Farm

While the rain tried to keep us away, we came to stay a couple nights here, hoping for a nice weekend away to celebrate our first anniversary. We gambled on this place, even without any pictures of sleeping/living areas, because of the animals. Given of the setup of the rental area, an inlaw-style suite under the main living area and built into the side of a hill, however, it was plagued by a sense of damp: the smell was apparent upon arrival. In the host’s defense, she was fighting against about a week of solid rain, which couldn’t have helped. We were charmed by the countryside but left wanting for a tidier, more well-kept rental area. Overall, we enjoyed celebrating our anniversary, but this was a one-time visit.

Emily, I'm sorry that your visit was not satisfactory for you. I went out of my way to accommodate you even though you arrived two hours after the check in time. As I said when you arrived, it had been raining for two solid weeks and was very humid as well. I kept the dehumidifiers running 24/7 so that it would help with the humidity. Unfortunately, you did not communicate with me at all after your check in and when you left early, you did not inform me. I waited up until 1:00 a.m. because I was concerned about you. I would have appreciated it if you had the courtesy to let me know that you were leaving early. Fortunately, I have been blessed with guests who communicate well and have had mostly 5 star reviews. It is unfortunate that you did not communicate with me at all before you left early and went out of your way to write a negative review without giving me the opportunity to respond .while you were here.

Best Way to Spend New Year's Eve! Or Any Eve, Really!

5-Star Review for Caroline’s VRBO!!!My friend and I had the pleasure of spending a peaceful retreat at Caroline’s charming space over the course of a few days (which included New Year’s Eve), and it was truly a magical experience. Each morning we were greeted by Peanut and Sebastian (Caroline's alpacas) just outside our front door—a unique touch that made our stay unforgettable.Caroline’s home is the epitome of rustic coziness. The wood stove kept us warm and comfortable, while the well-equipped kitchen, complete with cast iron pans, allowed us to prepare delicious meals.In addition to the alpacas, we got to meet the rest of Caroline’s wonderful animal family, including her sweet pups Daisy and Eli, and her cat, Pumpkin. As animal lovers, this was an absolute joy.Caroline herself is a remarkable host—welcoming, attentive, and incredibly kind. Her warm personality made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. For anyone seeking a serene getaway surrounded by nature and lovely animals, I wholeheartedly recommend staying at Caroline’s. It’s a haven of tranquility, and I can’t wait to return with more friends and family!

I had a lovely stay. The place is beautiful, and it was a very special experience getting to feed the alpacas apples every morning. I was there for the Green River Festival and it was the perfect location. It's also very convenient for Northampton, Amherst, etc.

Visit in June

We enjoyed our visit to Conway. The animals were lovely and the owner kindly provided fruit to feed them and made sure that we had interactions with the alpacas. The rental unit is downstairs and could use a thorough cleaning and was musty after months of disuse due to Covid. The area has lots of wonderful towns to visit and the rental is located in a quiet location.

Sarah, I'm sorry that the apartment didn't live up to your expectations. From the first time that I met you, I had the impression that you were expecting the apartment to be upstairs which is clear from the description of the property, that it is not. Due to safety concerns of Covid, I have been very careful about thoroughly cleaning the apartment before and after guests have been there. As I recall, the weekend that you were there, it was rainy, and extremely hot and humid. Unfortunately, you did not keep the door shut which allowed the humidity and heat to enter the apartment. When humidity comes into an apartment and the dehumidifier is not emptied (which I do not believe you did), it creates a "musty" environment. Thankfully, I have not had any complaints from guests either before and after your visit about the condition of the apartment.

Enjoyable and interesting retreat

This place has a lot of personality. Caroline was a friendly and accomodating host. Meeting and feeding her two alpacas (Sebastian and Peanut) and her dog (Daisy) were a highlight of the trip. The apartment featured comfortable and attractive furnishings and decorations. The location, about a half hour from Northampton and 10 minutes from Shelburne Falls, makes this a great base for day outings in the area.

Peanut, Sebastian, and Daisy were awesome!

We needed to stay a few nights near UMass for graduation, saw "alpacas" and was hooked. Caroline is great and hand excellent suggestions for places to eat and visit and directions to campus. The animals were fantastic and we loved spending time with them.

We enjoyed our stay at Caroline's basement-level Owl's Nest very much. Getting woken up by hungry, inquisitive alpacas every morning was absolutely delightful! The house is situated in a lovely part of the state that was an excellent home base for adventures. Many thanks for the hospitality!

Great for a weekend away!

Caroline’s place is great for a weekend away in the country. She’s welcoming and friendly and and the alpacas are such special creatures to wake up to!

A Relaxing Weekend in the Berkshires!

Thank you to Caroline, Gabriel, Sebastian and Beethoven for providing us with a relaxing weekend in a beautiful setting. Caroline is great host and made sure that we had everything that we needed for our stay. Her place is so cozy and makes a great base from which to explore the area. The beautiful town of Shelburne Falls is close by and sightseeing around NW Massachusetts and even into Vermont is easy from her location. Then there are Gabriel, Sebastian and Beethoven! Gabriel is so stately as watches over everything. And the morning visits from Sebastian and Beethoven for their apple treats is just something that we'll always remember. Our only regret is that we couldn't spend more time here. We're already planning a return trip!

I am both a therapist and an artist. Originally a sculptor, I have expanded my creative interests to include spinning my alpacas' fleece and knitting warm and lovely hats. The environment is nurturing and peaceful here, and whoever stays at the Owl's Nest will experience a slower pace of life, combined with the joy of interacting with animals.

Visitors almost always comment about 'how quiet' it is at the Owl's Nest. While it feels isolated, it is also within an easy driving distance to several dynamic and fun towns where there is much to entertain one. Guests especially enjoy going to the town of Shelburne Falls, only 4 miles away, where there are numerous restaurants, galleries and when open, the Bridge of Flowers. Northampton, a vibrant college town, is 25 minutes away and offers great restaurants. Amherst, another great college town, is only 35 minutes away, and has much to offer all year round.

A stay at the Owl's Nest will help a visitor remember the simpler delights of life and connect one with the joy of animals. There is nothing finer (or funnier!) than watching an alpaca come to your door (when called, of course!) ready to eat his morning apple. It is equally entertaining to observe the interactions between a large and "gentle giant" Leonberger who also comes to receive a treat because she wants to do what her alpaca "brothers" do!
