BIENVENUE DANS LA VALLÉE DE L'HUDSON! Profitez des images et des sons du pays ... tout cela, de l'intĂ©rieur de votre confortable studio (totalement privĂ©) Fox Den. Nous fournissons tout le confort de la maison. Des biscuits faits maison attendent votre arrivĂ©e. La Fox Den a Ă©tĂ© conçue pour les couples ou les cĂ©libataires. DĂ©solĂ©, nous ne pouvons pas accueillir les enfants ou les animaux domestiques.

Que diriez-vous de passer un week-end romantique et confortable devant une cheminĂ©e, ou peut-ĂȘtre de vous perdre dans un bon livre sur votre terrasse privĂ©e, donnant sur le lac. Vous avez trouvĂ© votre retraite privĂ©e idĂ©ale, un lieu de dĂ©tente et de calme. Nous sommes sur 20 acres de forĂȘts prĂ©servĂ©es, de sentiers pĂ©destres, de jolis jardins de chalets, ainsi que 275 'de façade sur le lac.

Nous sommes sur un lac privĂ©, les bateaux Ă  moteur ne sont pas autorisĂ©s, ce qui vous permet de faire du kayak, du pĂ©dalo, de la pĂȘche ou simplement de flotter Ă  votre guise. (La saison de navigation est du 1er mai au 30 septembre.) La chaloupe restera disponible aprĂšs septembre. Nous avons des salons au bord du lac et un hamac spacieux pour deux personnes qui se dĂ©hanchent dans l'air du pays.
Nous avons une paire de cygnes qui visitent chaque Ă©tĂ©. Les canards colverts, les castors, les tortues peintes, la truite et l'achigan Ă  petite bouche, habitent ce lac. Il y a des renards roux et des cerfs (les faons jumeaux ne sont pas inhabituels). Il y a des faucons et des hiboux Ă  queue rouge, de beaux oiseaux du nord-est et si vous ĂȘtes chanceux, vous verrez un pygargue Ă  tĂȘte blanche.

Le Fox Den est décoré pour nos invités, il est confortable et baigné de lumiÚre naturelle. Une cuisine entiÚrement équipée avec un grand four et un réfrigérateur. Nous fournissons également du café, du thé, des épices et des huiles de cuisine.

Un luxueux lit queen avec vue sur le lac et une salle de bain privée (les serviettes sont fournies pour le bain et le lac). Une pergola couverte, un patio privé avec un gril à gaz, donnant sur les fleurs sauvages et le chemin du lac. Votre vie privée est primordiale pour nous (nous respectons le fait que vous soyez ici pour faire du R & R).

Si vous voulez conduire et voir la campagne, vous aurez de nombreuses destinations intĂ©ressantes Ă  dĂ©couvrir, et la plupart se trouvent Ă  proximitĂ©. AntiquitĂ©s, domaines viticoles, domaines glorieux, beaux jardins, Ă©quitation et dĂ©licieux restaurants de toutes sortes. (L’Institut culinaire est situĂ© au cƓur de la vallĂ©e de l’Hudson.) CollĂšge Bard, le Richard B. Fisher Performing Arts Ctr., Institut Omega, Opus 40, villes charmantes (telles que Red Hook, Rhinebeck, Hudson, Tivoli et Woodstock), marchĂ©s de producteurs, vergers saisonniers pour cueillir vos propres fruits, et bien d’autres attendent votre arrivĂ©e

Fully equipped kitchen, warm as toasty with the gas fired fireplace. Bed was so comfortable, we had a great nights sleep! Everything was immaculate and very spacious. We loved the beautiful decorations and extra touches.

The Fox Den Studio is better than advertised. It's the perfect slice of peace and quiet. Having the lake right in front is a dream. My companions during my stay were the hungry birds who continually visited the feeder that is adjacent to the covered patio. I would love to come back and see how beautiful it is when the trees are full of leaves. The studio itself was spotless, not a speck of dust anywhere. The bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen had everything I needed. Communication with the hosts was easy and they got back to me very quickly. WIFI was great. If you're looking for a solo writer's retreat (or a retreat for any other reason), the Fox Den Studio is magical.

Short getaway

This rental is exactly like the pictures, and even better in real life! The views of the lake and the rolling green hill were just beautiful (even in the rain). The location was easy for us to pop into town or explore nearby areas. We would definitely come back again!

Fox Den Relaxation

What a beautiful view inside and outside in a quiet lake view location. Beautiful decor and view to the lake with a fireplace to warm you as the decor warms your heart. The owners are wonderful and reservation process easy.

Heavenly in Red Hook

We absolutely loved staying at Jeanne and Jim's charming home. The setting is perfection with a lake view, a patio for our use, and a charming rental unit with every amenity we could need. It was spotlessly clean, well maintained and QUIET! We really needed a calm, relaxing getaway and this was exactly what we had hoped for and more. Red Hook and the nearby area is also lovely and had many great restaurants to enjoy. Hosts Jeanne and Jim were so welcoming and thought of every detail. We can't wait to return!

Splendid retreat!

We had the perfect weekend at this absolutely charming space on the banks of the beautiful Spring lake. The cottage was filled with thoughtful touches, the bed was extremely comfortable, and we loved sitting outside and listening to the birds while looking at the water. I also very much appreciated a kayak paddle, too. We will definitely be returning when visiting our Bard College kid!

Lakeside Lounge

Wonderful hosts seemed to think of everything. All we did was relax: lakeside, patio, chaise lounges, country walking. Get your food supplies before arrival because there is no need to leave the cozy spot!

Great Place

Property is well maintained. Host is awesome! I was able to make a last minute reservation. The host had the property ready in 1.5 hours. There is a hiking trail and water sports on the property. A great patio to watch birds and view of the lake. I would stay here again.

Fox den is a gem

The studio apartment is furnished with everything we needed. The deck and outdoor area were also nice. We did not get to enjoy the lake because it was unbearably hot the first few days, then rainy and cold for days 5-7! The worst weather of any vacation we ever had, but the place is perfect nonetheless!

Relaxing & Quiet Getaway

This quaint little place was just enough for us to getaway from it all! Jeanne & Jim were very hospitable, and friendly. The lake is very picturesque, especially with our good fortune of arriving in the snow! We definitely would like to come back in the warmer months to take full advantage of all the lake and property have to offer. The place had everything we needed, as well as a nice welcome treat, which we very much appreciated! Thank you Jeanne & Jim for making us feel warm and welcome!

ust returned yesterday from our stay at Fox Den. I wish we could have stayed longer . This is a perfect couples getaway. The cottage was clean and charming, very comfortable! Everything we needed and more. Just bring your clothes and food. The patio was our favorite spot with a beautiful view of the lake and gardens. So peaceful, it was like we were the only people on the property. Communication with the owners was spot on! Jeanne was always ready with a restaurant or ice cream suggestion. Easy access to the towns of Red Hook and Rhinebeck for shopping and restaurants. My only suggestion is that you bring water shoes, as getting into the lake is a bit slippery and rocky. I wish there had been a dock but we loved hanging in the lake swimming, floating and kayaking! I could go on, but just go!!!

Sweet lakefront home

Perfect couple vacation spot. Total privacy at the end of a dirt road. Great decorating touches of the very practical apartment and fully stocked kitchen with pots and pans and cabinet with spices. Bed was very comfortable Two six foot glass doors (separated by a gorgeous stone gas fireplace between them) open up to a partially covered deck with a grill and a fire stove. and a view of a sloping lawn down to the lake. There is a rowboat, a pedal boat and kayaks for your use. Owners, a lovely couple, live on the property if you have any questions. They even sent info on a flowering plant my wife asked about. And Red Hook and Rhinebeck are 10-15 minutes down the road. 5 stars.

Wonderful studio

SWIMMERS: note that the lake is clean and clear, BUT you will need water shoes as the entry is rocky and slippery. The place is immaculate. You will not have to bring all those pesky things usually needed for a rental: Jeanne has provided everything needed but your clothes and perishables: s & p, sugar, coffee, tea, spices, oil, soaps, paper goods, flashlights, hair dryer, lake toys - noodles and floats, games, books .... etc,. etc. This place is QUIET (except for the owl). RAIN; the view is pretty, there are games, a gas fireplace, and LOTS to do in the area - a great base for visiting all the historic houses, charming towns, wineries, and farms. It is really only for a couple - one queen bed only. Although the owners are upstairs, you have a sense of complete privacy. Definitely recommend.

Jim and I both, are from Long Island, NY. Jim worked as an Operations Manager for an engineering firm, and I was a Computer Operator for a local township, and I also worked as an Administrative Assistant for many years. Jim did a lot of traveling for his job, and it took us to North Carolina. We really enjoyed living there; however, our families & friends were back on LI, so after a few years, we returned home. We always loved the north east's countryside and farmland. We would vacation in Vermont, but weren't ready to commit to their winters. We were really hoping to find a place that wasn't too far from LI.
When we were ready to make the move, we looked all over the tri-state area. When we arrived in Red Hook, we knew it was where we wanted to settle. We love the community, the people, and the most of all, the countryside.
We have 2 furry 'kids', Heidi - our dog, and Sam - our cat; and all the creatures on our property are an added bonus!

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

Upon seeing this property for the first time, we weren't sure we were ready for a such a huge undertaking. The property was quite neglected, and overgrown. The 1950's summer bungalow was tiny and housing a few critters. However, The mature trees were beautiful, and the lake, quiet & pristine. Hearing the wind rustling in the trees was hypnotizing. The task seemed daunting and overwhelming to me, but to Jim, he had found Nirvana! This property held such promise. It was a huge undertaking, and lots of work, but, all in all - we are so glad we stayed and pursued our country dream.
