Cottage Croft traditionnel avec vue sur la rivière Snizort - Portree, île de Skye

River View Cottage est un cottage en croft traditionnel en pierre construit vers 1910 et conserve tout son charme d'origine à l'extérieur mais a été modernisé en interne. Le chalet est indépendant et se trouve dans un cadre rural élevé, avec de belles vues sur la rivière sinueuse Snizort. Situé à seulement 5 miles de la ville principale de Portree, et à 10 minutes en voiture du terminal de ferry Western Isles, le chalet est idéalement situé pour visiter l'île. Avec un mobilier moderne partout, un salon confortable, une cuisine entièrement équipée (avec table à manger), une salle d'eau avec douche à l'italienne. Deux chambres doubles et une simple. Jardin privé avec grand parking. Draps et serviettes fournis.

The property was very nice in a convenient location to Portree and the western part of Skye. The location, size, and amenities make it a great home base for a longer stay on Skye. One thing to consider about the property is the shower facilities. The singular shower has a floor space of roughly 2.5 by 2.5 feet. While not an issue for myself, it might be something to consider if you need a slightly larger or more accessible space.

house has a nice layout (except of course not having a toilet upstairs). great windows that let in light/air with black out blinds. great kitchen. fast hot water. ADORABLE sheep. a good location about ten minutes drive to portree (though parking in town at dinner time is an absolute horror in peak season, arrive 20 minutes before your meal to allow time to drive around looking for parking then walk, the antlers grill in the portree hotel tied for the best meal we’ve had on vacation, including in london. edinbane inn is also good. follow agnes’s directions and photos for arrival and map yourself to “river view (with a space in between) cottage, portree,” NOT the address given which will send you to a different house, the river lodge using google maps. it would have been useful to know that the driveway was right across from the poachers bothy since that has a nice big sign. you can’t see the river view sign till you’re up the hill. and there was no visible graemar’s house so the arrival instructions could be updated but we found it. the unfortunate part of our stay was a mustiness that gave us allergies, some from the furniture in the living room, but a lot also from the carpet upstairs. my husband couldn’t even be in the living room the last couple days. our nightclothes and pillow slips stank after we left. other than that it’s a good place. didn’t have much interaction with Agnes, but got a good vibe from her.
