La Huerta Vieja is a fabulous luxury 4-bed villa located on the outskirts of Alhaurin El Grande, in the valley between the River Fahala & the stream of Blas González. The property is surrounded by stunning green-belt countryside views, and yet is just a 5 minute drive (5km) from the town centre, just 22km from the airport, 29km from Malaga city centre, 25km from Fuengirola and only 36.5km from Marbella.

The property itself is situated in extensive mature gardens containing 100's of exotic, tropical plants & trees, numerous orange, lemon. lime & pomegranite trees, and topped off with a professionally installed 9-hole putting green, complete with sand bunker and boules court!

You immediately get the ‘wow’ factor as the electric gates open to reveal a handsome 2 storey villa with first floor wrap-around terrace, and a fully terraced dining & entertainment area - the perfect place to relax and unwind with uninterrupted views of the orchards, mountains and the large 10.5m x 5m pool with pool-house, outdoor kitchen/BBQ area, and a decked gazebo area, perfect for meditation/relaxation or a morning tea/coffee watching the sunrise.

You enter the property through large traditional dark-wood Andalusian doors and are immediately taken into an enclosed entrance hall with fitted storage. You're then in a huge modern living space which contains a central fireplace and patio doors onto the ground-floor terrace/outdoor entertaining area, and which flows elegantly into an open-plan kitchen with fitted units and granite work surfaces. Also on the ground floor is a guest bathroom with shower, and a king-size bedroom with an en-suite containing a large corner bath and shower, fitted wardrobes, and it's own patio doors onto the terrace affording fantastic mountain views.

The sweeping marble staircase leads up to a grand master bedroom with king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom clad in marble (again with bath and shower), 2 further double bedrooms (one of which which contains small 135cm double bunk beds - please note if you are a group of 10 adults!), and a substantial family bathroom. All of the upstairs bedrooms have fitted wardrobes, and all bar one room upstairs has access to a private elevated terrace with amazing views towards the town of Alhaurin El Grande and the local mountains (Sierra de Mijas).

I really cannot recommend this property highly enough. From the moment we booked, the communication and clarity were absolutely spot-on. Joyous week in the Spanish countryside

Just spent a joyous week there as a group of 4 adults and 2 children. It’s the most stunning place and now perfect for even bigger families or groups of friends with the accompanying property, La Casita. Such a beautiful place and close enough to ‘things to do and places to go’ if you fancy it, but also wonderfully secluded if you don’t.

Amazing villa

Stayed here last summer for 2 weeks as a mixed family party of 8, including a toddler. Property was amazing, really clean, beautiful facilities, with great bedroom options. Kitchen well equipped. Pool area fabulous with great views and fabulous bbq and kitchen area at poolside. Great soft seating and dining options on the patio so differentiated day time to evening dining. Only thing to be aware of it can be breezy so be careful with things blowing away. Incredible stay, definitely recommend and would love to return one day. Thank you to the team

Very nice villa with everything you need for a great holiday. We stayed as 3 couples with children and there was plenty of space for everyone. Only suggestion would be to try and get the wifi connection round the pool to be better as the Sonos system regularly loses connection

Hey Si, thanks for your review. We installed a new mesh network last year to give better wifi coverage poolside, and the small white cylinder that is outside on the main terrace next to the house needs to be plugged in at all times. Maybe if that was unplugged you were getting poor coverage?

Beautiful Villa

What a fabulous villa with fantastic outdoor space and a great pool. The views from the villa are beautiful although the drive along the roads to the villa are a bit hairy. Consequently we used a local taxi service to restaurants in town. We found Christobal taxis very reliable. We had a wonderful time and would thoroughly recommend this villa.

Fantastic!

Fabulous property... check in was very thorough. Roy made sure we knew about the full property and gave us information about the local area and restaurants. Kitchen facilities were extensive... plenty of plates/glasses/ mugs etc and every utensil and gadget you can think of. Wifi access was great. We hired a car and found the villa easily...just make sure your satnav doesn't send you down the road with the potholes (ours did but there is a much better route to the property!) The sound system throughout the villa is a real bonus. We had an amazing week and would love to return soon!

Beautiful Villa

Stunning Villa with excellent facilities. Pool is fantastic, and also had many on evening enjoying the views from the terrace after bbqs. Off the beaten track, but in many ways that’s a good thing. Very peaceful, and actually not difficult to get to the coast/ beaches, great local Mercadona supermarket and great places to visits like Ronda, Caminito Del Rey, etc. Also some excellent road cycling to be had from the Villa. Kamagabikes.com in Marbella excellent for road and mountain bike hire. Would recommend rides to Mijas and Aloizana.

Summer 23

Our two families (4 adults and 4 children) had a fantastic two week stay at La Huerta Vieja. The villa is located in the middle of a valley with breathtaking views of the mountains from the spacious pool. The villa itself has been renovated to a very high standard with the smallest of details thought of throughout. The location of the villa is very good with plenty to do locally albeit you will need a car. The property management was excellent and every small request we made was dealt with promptly. The villa was exceptionally clean and very well equipped with a huge kitchen and great BBQ area. We all highly recommend this villa!

80th birthday family holiday

A perfect holiday was had by all during our stay at La Huerta Vieja. En-suite bedroom downstairs with direct access to the patio and pool was ideal for my parents. The wrap around terrace on the first floor allowed the teenagers to find their own space during the day. Pool area was amazing with very comfortable sun loungers and day bed. The multiple outdoor seating areas around the property were fantastic for breakfast, lunch, pre dinner drinks and dinner. We enjoyed picking oranges from the trees and having a fresh juice every morning. The football and golf fanatics in our group enjoyed having access to multiple sport channels. We would highly recommend a stay and will definitely return.

Stunning villa! Everything we were looking for in a villa! Very clean, everything top notch and totally secure. Electric gates to enter and fenced all around so totally secure for the children! Shutters ond doors and windows which were very re assuring and alarmed! Plenty of towels and also beach towels, saved on the extra kg on the flight! Sonos surround sound system, just down load the app so easy and it was great! Netflix and dvd player for the children they were in their glory! Plus the table tennis,swimming pool and golf! Totally fantastic holiday in a stunning villa and have already pre-booked for next year 👍 Great communication with John and the management Danny who we didnt need to contact because everything was just great but he was on call if we needed him! Fab holiday and looking forward to next yr!! 👍😊

We had a real great/ fantastic holiday at La Huerta Vieja. (september 2018) From the minute we came undtil we should leave, we have enjoyed it. All 10 of us, two parents, the childeren and their partners and their children. We where svimming, playing table tennis and mini golf, have relaxed, read books, made food in the nice kitchen (where everything was, that we needed to make breakfast, lunch and dinner), listened to "our" music from the Sonos speakers and where just having a great time. We didn't want to leave the place, and had only one time dinner in the town. Two of us, where shopping everyday, at the nice supermarket in town, where you could buy everything you needed. You could stay in the sun or find shadow, just what you wanted was possible to find around the house. There are lots of different areas you can choose to be, if you want some time on your own. For us was it the perfect place to have our family holiday :-) and if we take a new family holiday next year, I know hwere it will be: HER ;-) Thanks for "borrowing" your fantastic house to us. Un havre de Paix

Nous avons été très bien reçu. Le service était impeccable. Le lieu est un vrai havre de paix, en pleine nature aux milieu des orangers. La villa est équipée pour rendre tout le monde heureux, autant pour les activités ( piscine, mini-golf, pétanque, ping-pong..) et pour le repos c’est le lieu idéal. A proximité, 5-10 min il y a tout les services nécessaires ( Supermarché, pharmacie, boulangerie.. ) et à 20-40min les grandes destinations ( Malaga centre, Marbella, la plage, le port.. ) . Nous avons passé une semaine en famille formidable. Je vous recommande cette Villa.

Belle villa

Location de dernière minute pour un séjour golfique entre amis . La villa est belle , très bien équipée mais assez excentrée . Très bien pour la tranquillité moins pour l’accès à la plage , aux golfs et aux grandes villes . 3 grandes chambres et une plus petite . Un peu juste pour un groupe de 7 personnes mais tout de même très confortable . Fonctionnement de la villa bien expliqué par un manager anglais . Piscine non chauffée ( en Avril l’eau était donc bcp trop froide ) Terrain de pétanque présent mais trop étroit , putting Green sympa avec un bunker ( mais sans sable ) Bref avec plus d’investissement ce serait une très belle location . Un bémol sur un incident survenu lors de notre séjour , une fenêtre qui s’avérait mal montée et dont nous n’avions pas été avertis , a éclaté sur le double vitrage extérieur en voulant l’ouvrir . Nous en avons fait part au manager et au final nous avons dù payer les réparations . Un peu léger dans les réponses des propriétaires qui nous répondent qu’en raison de la situation sanitaire , aucune location depuis 1 an , peu de bénéfice sur notre location .... Je pense qu’un geste commercial de leur part , surtout qu’ils peuvent faire jouer leur assurance , aurait été de bon goût . Pas la meilleure manière de fidéliser ... Une belle villa donc , pour un séjour en famille ou entre amis avec ce qu’il faut de tranquillité

Georges, Merci d'avoir pris le temps d'écrire un commentaire et d'avoir choisi notre villa pour vos vacances de golf. C'est un endroit magnifique et paisible, et nous nous efforçons de l'expliquer dans la description de la propriété. Afin d'obtenir cette paix et cette tranquillité, vous êtes à 5-10 minutes en voiture des pubs, des magasins et des restaurants du centre ville. Notre plan était d'installer un chauffage solaire pour la piscine en hiver 2020/21, mais la pandémie de Covid a eu un tel impact sur les réservations que nous avons dû mettre cet investissement en attente. Le bunker à côté du putting green contient du sable, mais pendant les mois plus frais et plus humides, il est plus difficile de le maintenir en parfait état. Bien que personne n'ait jamais exprimé son mécontentement concernant la taille et les dimensions du terrain de pétanque, nous apprécions vos commentaires et essayons toujours d'améliorer les conditions pour nos clients. Enfin, je comprends que personne n'aime payer pour des dommages, mais nous ne pouvons tout simplement pas nous permettre d'absorber le coût d'un bris majeur comme une fenêtre cassée. "We have owned property in Andalusia since 2003, and have been holidaying in this part of Spain for many years. We decided that we wanted a more substantial property that offered peace and tranquillity in the Spanish hills, but was still close to a busy 'Spanish' town, and importantly gave us the scope chance to put our stamp on it. As soon as we arrived at the gates we instantly fell in love, and by the time we’d explored the first floor wrap-around terrace, and taken in the uninterrupted 360 degree views of the area’s mountainous landscape, the large pool with pool-house and outdoor kitchen, and the sprawling orchards with it’s orange, lemon, fig and pomegranite trees, we were hooked and knew that once we'd modernized it to our high standards, it would be the perfect family retreat in the stunning Andalusian countryside. We made an offer later that day, and by early January 2017 we’d collected the keys and began the refurbishment. We knocked down walls downstairs to create a light, bright and open living space, and installed a new ground floor terrace area. We redecorated the whole house, sourced contemporary furniture from Scandanavia and Italy, added an indoor/outdoor sound system, created a new shaded social/dining area and enhanced the pool-house area with a decked gazebo area that provides the perfect spot for yoga/mediation. Our property management team look after the maintenance side of things all year round, as well as ensuring that the 2 acres of mature landscaped gardens with 100’s of trees, exotic flowers and plants stay in fantastic condition. The team is led by Roy Potter, who ensures that all our guests have an amazing time."

It's less than 30 minutes drive from the airport & the beach, and only 5-10 minutes drive from the nearest town, Alhaurin el Grande, and yet it feels like you're a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Whilst this is the ideal place to unwind and relax with friends and/or family, it's also been renovated to try and create the ultimate entertaining complex in the sun. We completed work on La Huerta Vieja's sister property, "La Casita" (property ID # 8743809), a 3 bed, 2 bath, luxury modern single storey villa in September 2018 - and we now have 2 completely separate fenced-off properties that can be rented out independently or as 1 large property for large groups of up to 18 people. La Casita was the original property that was the dwelling for the local farmers, and had not been touched for more than 50 years when John and Louisa purchased the villas. The renovation took 12 months & they've now created a modern, luxury open-plan villa that appeals to a wide audience, with an amazing stunning sun deck with amazing views of the mountains and open countryside.
