hi Karen,
I just saw your review and I feel the need to make some clarifications.
I would like to start by saying that I have been renting my house for many years and for about 10 years, I have made the management of houses, mine and other people's, my main activity here in Sardinia, gaining a certain amount of experience and, above all, putting in a lot of effort and attention.
I am sorry that you did not have a good experience but even in the description of Vrbo it is specified that the peculiarity of my house is precisely that, before moving, I left everything as it was: the silver, the porcelain, the paintings and, in a part of the wardrobe even my clothes. So don't worry, they had not been forgotten by a distracted relative.
You tell me that the mattress was hard and I tell you that it is certainly hard because it is an orthopedic mattress, brand IMCO, entirely covered, together with the pillows, which are not old but are orthopedic, with merino wool to guarantee an optimal body temperature both in summer and winter.
You tell me that the towels are old and I tell you that they are only thin but they are neither old (I changed them two summers ago), nor worn, nor torn, nor unpaired.
The closed room (which is not a room but a small and blind dressing room) is used by me to store all the linens that are not available to guests, but also the supplies of all the products that I make available at each change. I do not feel like I am taking anything away from the overall comfort of the house. And I can assure you that, even here, there is always a closet or a closed room with the sign PRIVATE, and no one has ever raised any issues.
You complain about the distance and the traffic, almost blaming me for the confusion. I confirm that, if you walk from my house to Villa
Bellini, which can be considered right in the center, it takes 10 minutes. The road system, the traffic and the difficulty of parking are not things I can answer for.
You point out that the private garage is paid when this is also clearly specified on the website. For completeness, you could also add that I did not charge you the tourist tax by putting the money in myself because I consider it a delicacy towards my guests.
With regard to the shops, I suspect that you did not even walk 500 meters because around the house, both going down towards Piazza Santa Maria di Gesù/ Via Androne, and going up towards Viale Mario Rapisardi or towards Via Cifali there is practically everything: you will find 3 supermarkets, food shops of all kinds, very well-stocked delicatessens (e.g. Mensa or the Magri bar), fish restaurants or street food for a sandwich with hot meat. I am truly sorry if you did not take advantage of these conveniences. You could have written to me: I would have given you all the necessary information, I always do.
I conclude with a piece of advice: read the instructions carefully when you go to rent holiday homes and avoid making hasty judgements because concepts such as "old towels and pillows" or "relatives recently passed away" can hurt and above all can prejudice those who, like me, put commitment, professionalism and passion into rentals.
