Bienvenue dans notre maison de 3 chambres et 2 salles de bain complètes sur la rivière James dans le comté de Botetourt. C'est la propriété pour vous si vous cherchez des vacances reposantes sur la rivière James. Idéal pour les vacances en famille d'une semaine ou prolongées, les escapades d'un week-end, les réunions de famille ou les retraites travail / église. La région de Springwood est l'un des endroits les plus populaires de la rivière James, très populaire pour la pêche, le kayak et le canoë. Notre propriété se trouve sur le sentier de la rivière Upper James. (recommande fortement une recherche google pour plus d'informations sur la piste d'eau). La propriété est à seulement quelques minutes du pont naturel. La propriété comprend une rampe de mise à l'eau sur la rivière, un grand pont autour du pont avec un grand hamac idéal pour se détendre, bronzer et regarder la rivière. La propriété comprend un grand espace extérieur idéal pour se détendre, bronzer et trou de maïs. La maison a également des fournitures pour griller, un grand foyer, une chaîne stéréo et une télévision. La propriété comprend plus de 100 pieds de façade fluviale pour la pêche. Endroit idéal à l'automne pour se détendre ou camp de base pour la chasse, forêt nationale située à proximité. À seulement 30 minutes en voiture de Roanoke. A beautiful rustic getaway with gorgeous views from the second floor decks, this was the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy kayaking and fishing on the James River. Very clean and well appointed with comfortable beds and furniture, this home is surrounded by beautiful country teeming with wildlife. I wish we could have stayed longer, and highly recommend this property.

Great place on The James

House is well stocked and cared for. You’ll love to sit on the front or back porch and watch the river go by. Easy place to launch your own kayaks for the five mile trip to Buchanan. Neighbors are friendly and helpful.

Peaceful, Fun house on the river

We had a great long weekend at this property. They have a ton of activities (yard games like horseshoes, cornhole), puzzles.. it is a 1 minute walk to the river, which is clear as can be. The kids loved swimming, splashing, running, grilling out. everyone we met nearby was friendly and helpful too. we would love to come back!

James River Getaway

We found the home both spacious, well equipped and comfortable. This was our first time to the area, and we definitely will be returning thanks to the condition and amenities of the property, but also due to the relaxed rural nature of its location, right on the James River. Now that we know more about the area and river, we will return next time better equipped to fish and canoe the James River. Thanks again to the owner for his prompt response to our questions.

Wonderful outdoor vacation!

This place is truly wonderful if you like being on the water, along with all the outdoor activities that it provides. The house was very clean, very nice, and the homeowners were extremely nice, generous people. We went swimming, tubing, kayaking, hiking, fishing, played games in the yard every day. The river was very clean and having the boat ramp right there couldn't make access any easier. They have a HUGE fire pit where we enjoyed fires every night, which was a huge plus... basically spent nearly all day every day outside. The ONLY thing that I could possibly complain about, and this was very minor in my opinion, was the pans and lack of appliances in the kitchen (I'm a big cook), but we made the best of it, had to improvise a bit. All in all, it was a great place, very quiet, peaceful, beautiful and an absolutely wonderful way to reconnect with nature and spend some quality, healthy time outdoors. Be sure to buy your groceries beforehand if possible. The closest grocery store is half an hour away.

Great location by James River

Our visit was July 1-8, and we would highly recommend this property for a relaxing, refreshing stay by the James River. The house was very clean on arrival, kitchen well-stocked, ample linens and towels. We spent a lot of time on the porches, just hanging out and enjoying the quiet and watching canoers, kayakers, and tubers on the river. Access is right across the road (literally a one minute walk) so it’s easy to wade in. Because we did not have tubes, we went on a tubing trip through Twin Rivers Outfitters in Buchanan (about 4 miles from house). The yard is very large and flat with a big fire pit, picnic table, chairs. Roanoke is about 45 minutes away, but a neat town to explore with lots of green space. Lexington is about 25 minutes away. Just FYI: Because Buchanan is small, there is no large grocery. The Hilltop store and Family Dollar were depleted of basics (due to high volume of campers for 4th of July, we were told). What food we didn’t bring with us we got in Roanoke (combined shopping with a day trip), but there is a Krogers in Daleville, which is closer. The owner was very helpful, very responsive.

Stayed in VRBO rentals each of the past 5 years; this was the best yet! Quiet and secluded, yet the neighbors that we met (Sanbo & Chuck) were friendly and interesting.House was exactly as described, beds and other furnishings comfortable. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only possible negative is one that the owner has no control over - train tracks runinng on the opposite side of the river. Still, anyone that spends much time around rivers should know that tracks follow the river in mountainous terrain; it's the lowest lying ground around. However, trains were not frequent, at least, not running nearly as often as other places we've stayed.We hope to be able to return again!

Relaxing River Retreat

Very quiet and peaceful area right on the river. Sit on the deck and enjoy the peace. We tied our river tubes to a rock and floated in the river all day. A big tree provides perfect shade so you can spend hours without burning. House has everything you need.

Perfect get away

The river house was perfect for an active family. It was well stocked with everything you’d need, just bring the food. Very clean and felt like home. I’d drink my coffee and read my book every morning out on the balcony while the hubby fished. We swam and played in the river every day and it was close enough to the local attractions to enjoy as well. It was just perfect!

Family visit

I went to visit my son who lives in Charlottesville. We wanted a place to fish and enjoy the outdoors . This was perfect ! It was not fancy but very comfoyand the river was right across a little shell road. It was close to tubing and kayaking . We found some neat places to eat that were not far. The kitchen in the property was well equipped . I would definitely go back.
