The house was lovely and the water views spectacular. There was room for all of the family to relax, sleep and enjoy the area. Our host replied promptly to questions. The biggest disappointment was the lack of the game room, which was included in the description. A few appliances and doors needed attention but overall the family enjoyed the space, location, and comfort the house provided. Plymouth offered the perfect attractions for our time there too.

Great for Large Family

We had a wonderful time in Plymouth. The house was close to the sites and had an amazing view. We loved that all the adult rooms had king size beds. Also, how many rental houses have a grand piano?? We all enjoyed listening to my mom play.

Perfect for a large family or reunion...Convenient to historical events and to downtown.

The home was perfect for our family with great space to accommodate everyone. Clean and neat when we arrived and easy to keep. Our only request to go back would be to make a stairway or ramp to the beach from the end of the current stairs. Just a great week with a 100% vote of 12 to go back.

Beautiful beachfront home

This was a great house! We had a large family and the house was perfect. We were unaware that towels were not included in the linens and the owner was very generous and reimbursed us for what we spent to buy them when we got there. He was absolutely great in answering all our questions as well. We were very happy with our stay and definitely recommend it for all others looking for a beach front house.

Lovely location, some surprises

This beach house is roomy and comfortable. It has a wonderful, scenic location on a bluff overlooking Plymouth Bay. Overall, we enjoyed our time there with family and several close friends. However, the exterior environment when we stayed there in August was in great need of maintenance and detracted somewhat from our enjoyment of this property. The overgrowth of weeds, vines and trees was quite significant, especially in the front of the house. The overgrowth in an area at the back of the house was such that it partially blocked the view of the water from some areas of the deck. Some landscape maintenance is certainly required to bring this lovely property back closer to its somewhat misleading appearance on the VRBO pictures.

View was spectacular!!!! Really unreal!!! Location ideal. EXTRA large house. Perfect for our large family. We just couldn't understand why the landscape was so horrific in the front of the house?? Really awful. Thank God we spent all of our time in the back. However, we just kept wondering why more hasn't been done to clear the back and have a better area for getting down to the beach? The neighbors all had that so I can't understand why the owner wouldn't do that, as well??? We just kept thinking how many possibilities this house had to have a better beach/sitting area like the surrounding homes.

Thanks for the review. Sorry about the front yard. The landscaper is too busy and they come not as often as they should. The ladder our neighbor built is very expensive, and it needs to be taken away after labor day and put it back on before memorial day. We need to raise the rent substantially if we had the same one but we want to keep our guests cost low. Sorry about this.

Family vacation

This home is just beautiful and extremely clean. Amazing ocean views from almost every room. My husband and I had a wonderful week with our family- our 2 sons, daughter in laws and 5 young grandchildren. The house is huge and the layout is perfect. There was plenty of room for everyone. All 3 decks have ocean views- We loved having breakfast on the large deck and watching sunsets from the upper deck. We used the stairs by the hotel to gain access to the beach as we had a lot of cargo with the children, and I would suggest keeping track of the tides. The adults were able to go up and down on the rocks also- but do need to be nimble - but this is explained in house description. We enjoyed the Plymouth location- a short drive to downtown where there is so much to do. We went to the splash pad and playground one day with the kids; so many restaurants and ice cream choices. We spoke with the owner by phone and he was extremely attentive and friendly. The house is just lovely and can’t say enough about the stunning ocean views.

Amazing location, average accomodation

The property is well located and very large. The furnishings are well worn, and the house could do with an overall deep clean. We recommend that guests traveling to stay here bring their own towel sets., and beach towels; there was only one towel and one hand towel per bedroom, no wash cloths. The kitchen was in complete disarray, though we did eventually find everything we needed to cook. We also ended up buying wineglasses, as there was only an odd assortment of unmatched glassware- margarita glasses don’t do justice to a nice bottle of Cabernet… As we were here for a full 7 nights, we enjoyed the washer and dryer, the dishwasher, and the big deck overlooking the bay. The 2 bbq grills were also a welcome addition. The deck door was broken, and we could only secure the storm door at night and when we left for sightseeing and wedding things. The location is truly magnificent. Overall, I’d recommend this place to friends. Just plan to bring the recommended items for comfort!

The house IS spacious but… the AC went out Saturday evening. That was our first night. So master bedroom stayed about 85 degrees with blackout curtains closed and two fans running. The upstairs was about 92. I should note the master bath was extremely hot due to sky light with no shade. We contacted the owner and we were told varying things to try. In the mean time the main floor and bottom floor were freezing to the point they tried to open windows to warm up and windows wouldn’t open. Door screens also kept falling off track. We had family photos scheduled on ocean side which we had to cancel because back ocean side is not well kept as pictures show. We finally got ac fixed temporarily late Wednesday afternoon. He had to override the system and keep it on at all times. We were given the equivalent of about one third of a nights stay for “inconvenience.” Locals said we should have had a pass to have easier access to water by way of stairs. Well we had to drive to beach with kids and beach gear and each car had to pay 21.35 a day to park. Coming out of the driveway is very dangerous because it is right on bend in road and you can’t see on coming traffic. To be able to go left you have to enter neighbors driveway to be able to turn left due to very dangerous bend the driveway is on. It was our most unpleasant vacation in 6 years of going to Plymouth. Very disappointed.

A New England Trip of Firsts

Our family decided to make our first "post-COVID" trip to Plymouth beach and share a house; our first time to do that. We also organized a family gathering on Sunday drawing our local family to the house for the first gathering of this family in many years. During the week we had 10 people, ages 63-7 staying in the house. This was our first experience with this property. The house is situated beautifully on a high bluff overlooking the water. The view is amazing and the personality of the water and the sunsets, make sitting on the balconies a memorable experience. As mentioned, the climb down to the beach is challenging, but there are other paths to take for those who are less agile. The house is filled with mis-matched and aging furnishings which allowed for a more relaxed vacation environment, especially as we had young children in the party. We also enjoyed nights around the fire pit making s'mores. While we did have a few issues that arose over the course of the week, the owner was personable, responsive and remedied those that he could; the biggest challenge being the extremely hot days and over-taxed A/C units. If you want a home with a view, a rocky beach, cool water and sunsets to never forget, this is your place to vacation.

Thank you, Dara. Your group are really nice people. Some explanations: We have some antique Asian furniture which some people like but some people think they are miss-matched. For A/C units, they will cool the house reasonably well even on extremely hot days if fan switches on thermostats are on "Fan", not on "Auto". This will be added in the instructions later.

The house with an espectacular view

We truly enjoyed staying at this house, the pictures of the ocean views really did not show how beautiful the view was in reality. The setup of the main area was perfect for our family, it allowed us to spend time together without being on top of one another. We enjoyed all the decks and outdoor spaces as well. The kitchen area with the island was nice and it had a lot of the things we needed to make a meal. If you like to cook bring at least 1 heavy duty large pot and a long griddle to make meals faster. The bedrooms were excellent it only sleeps 10 adults and kids comfortably. The game room type bedroom On the lower level was a bit hot at night but we fixed it by leaving the door open and pointing a fan. Some of my family members were able to climb the gigantic boulders down to the beach but some of us refuse to take the risk. The weather was a bit cold so the beach was not our number one priority. We did drive to walk around the beach (5mins away) or if you want to take a nice long walk you can just go the public beach ( safer to navigate). The public beach was really nice and very close to the house. The garbage situation was a bit heavy pulling up the hill on the day specified. we are assuming that the last family in the house did not take the garbage out since it was very full. Our family had an amazing time in this beautiful house. Plymouth has beautiful waterfront shops and eateries. We love the museum areas, whale watching and eating seafood.

A Perfect Location!

We chose this as our family vacation spot because of the location Off-Cape. After having enjoyed several couple vacations to Cape Cod, we wanted to have our families experience this wonderful place. Our daughters live in SC, FL and NC. We live in IN. So we set the date a year in advance to allow for vacation planning. Our grandchildren are 11-16, and are now old enough to appreciate the history of this area. Arriving together; we found that the cleaning crew was just finishing, After notifying Fred that there a few minor issues, he responded immediately to address our concerns; and offered to compensate for any inconveniences which were minor. The villa has everything a family would need to enjoy a great vacation. There is a soundproof game room for the kids to enjoy. The outdoor space is fantastic! We had a bonfire every evening; games at the large diningroom table, and thoroughly enjoyed our family time together! Appreciation for the eclectic decor was enhanced after a trip to the Sandwich Glass Museum. Those cases of beautiful glass fish are stunning! One afternoon we watched two whales cruise in the bay, and they actually breeched right in front of us! Our grandson captured this experience on video, as well as many other wonderful memories of this magical vacation! We unanimously agreed that this was our best family vaca ever! The only negative we had was the fact that the caretakers could be a little more aware of maintainiing the space. After all, when an owner lives thousands of miles away, they have to trust that the job is being done properly. Plymouth is 3 miles away, there are 2 public beaches nearby, fishing boats to watch everyday; and the weather was perfect! A very memorable stay for our family!

Just Needs TLC and Owner Attention

This Plymouth, MA property has incredible potential. The location and size of lot and house are just what you would want for a family gathering. The unfortunate realization is the property upkeep (both inside and out) lacks attention. There are several 'non-disclosed' details the owner should mention before finalization of rental. (neighbors, beach access, drive way caution). Of particular importance, is the exiting (auto) from the property onto Warren Avenue. The well groomed neighbor's hedges are a bit 'grown out' making it very difficult to exit the drive way. Use extremely caution as cars come quite fast around the bend! The landscaping needs attention as it takes away from the ocean view when gathered around the fire pit. There are stairs that lead down (partially) to the beach that need to be cleared of the overgrown grass. This grass makes the decent down to the landing difficult. Once on the landing you are on your own the remainder of the way down. While it is possible to climb the rocks both up and down, caution must be used. No small children! There is also an abundance of broken outdoor furniture strewn under the large deck that really distracts from the property's beauty. The deck could also be cleared of the many old spider webs along its length. Inside the house, there are numerous lightbulbs out, light switches and wall sockets that do not work, ceiling fans with very short pull chains which require standing on chairs to adjust. If you are a light sleeper, the fan on the lower level will keep you awake when placed on a low or medium. The kitchen sink faucet is extremely difficult to swivel and the faucet doesn't really stay in its base. Trash cans are extremely small (kitchen and bathrooms) requiring constant emptying and there are no separate recycling barrels. Owner's instructions are to 'put recycling to the side'. What does this mean? This property's location is ideal for going into Plymouth for its many treasures. Blue Blinds Baker (fresh breads baked daily), Plymouth Rock, and Anna's Harborside Grille to name a few. For me, just a bit more effort and attention on the part of the owner would make this a 5 star vacation home.

Well, the review is not very accurate. The words like "very", "extremely", "numerous"...all exaggerated real situations. I offered to go to the house and solve the issues right way but they declined. In the contract and instructions, there are disclosures of attentions and cautions guests should know about.

Divine Oasis

Property is ocean front with a view for miles , from every room . House is spacious, beautifully decorated & well appointed with plenty of room. Outside siting area has many comfortable chairs with some partial protection if needed. Primary bathroom is immaculate, spacious and a private sanctuary . Location is quiet and between Boston & Cape Cod, with many activities. Town of Plymouth is minutes away with many shops, cafes and tours. Time spent there was wonderful .Owner is extremely responsive and accommodating to every request. No problems were encountered at all . Enjoy time with your family in this lovely home .

Family Get Away

Three generations along with our dogs enjoyed a great beach week! The water views are spectacular, especially the sunsets, whether viewing from the outdoor decks or through the large windows. The dining and living rooms provided ample space and comfort for our family to gather and play games. If you do not want to walk to the town beach then it’s just a quick drive and the $20 parking pass is good for the whole day. Thank you Fred Zang for your hospitality 🙏
