Smithy House remonte aux années 1700 et a conservé une grande partie de son charme et de son caractère traditionnels. Il est situé dans la partie ancienne de Stainton sur le green du village.

Smithy House possède ses propres jardins matures et est idéal pour ceux qui recherchent une retraite loin de la foule folle mais à proximité des nombreuses activités que la Cumbrie a à offrir. Il est joliment meublé et constitue une base confortable pour explorer le Lake District.

Smithy House a reçu le Gold Award 4 étoiles décerné par Visit Britain.


Le Smithy House est chauffé au gaz Calor et comprend un salon avec une télévision connectée, un lecteur DVD, une station d'accueil, une connexion Wi-Fi illimitée, une chaîne hi-fi, un poêle à bois et un canapé 3 et 2 places et un lit bébé. La salle à manger / cuisine a une cuisinière à gaz Esse, un réfrigérateur / congélateur et un micro-ondes. La buanderie a laveuse / sécheuse, cuisinière et lave-vaisselle.

Au rez-de-chaussée se trouve une chambre double principale avec un lit et des meubles en chêne de taille King et une salle de bains avec baignoire en fonte, lavabo et WC. Au premier étage, vous trouverez une chambre à deux lits avec placard et télévision à écran plat et lecteur DVD. A l'étage, une chambre double avec un lit à baldaquin en acajou et des meubles assortis, une superbe baignoire avec douche et lavabo. A l'étage se trouve la salle de bain avec douche, lavabo et WC.

Il y a un parking privé pour 2 voitures sur le terrain. Le jardin a une grande pelouse avec terrasse et mobilier de jardin.

Le village de Stainton est idéalement placé pour profiter du Northern Lake District et de l'Eden Valley à seulement 3, 5 miles de Pooley Bridge et du lac Ullswater.

Penrith, une ville de marché est à seulement 10 minutes, ici il y a une variété de magasins, restaurants, supermarchés, pubs et un grand marché en plein air le samedi.

Il existe de superbes opportunités pour le vélo de montagne et de route.

Les promeneurs peuvent faire des promenades locales et il y a une belle promenade jusqu'au village de Dacre qui a un pub. Les marcheurs sérieux peuvent essayer Blencathra et Helvelyn qui ne sont qu'à une courte distance en voiture.

Stainton possède un pub de village, un hôtel, une boutique, un bureau de poste et une église et le Rheged Discovery Centre est accessible à pied.

We had a great few days at the house. It was a short drive from lots of the main lake district sites and really close to Rheged which was definitely worth a visit. The house was clean, spacious and well appointed. We made good use of the wood burner. We had a really nice meal at the local pub one evening.

Very nice property. The weather was freezing but we were warm. All was clean. It's like a home from home. The house has all the sort of things you'd have at home to make life easier. There are two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom. Parking for at least 2 cars depending on size. Access to the northern Lakes is easy. We had a lovely stay and when needed comms with the owner, Colin were quick and esay. Very helpful.

Everything you could possibly want. Great location and a short walk to two great pubs. We loved the Kings Arms with its fantastic food and atmosphere. The cottage is very well appointed and is perfect for a weekend away or as a base to explore the fells. Thank you for the stay.

Lovely cottage in a great location

A great stay. The cottage is comfortable and very well equipped. From comfortable beds to everything you could need in the kitchen. Communication with the owner was clear, helpful and timely and check in couldn’t have been easier. And it’s a great location as a base in the Lakes.

I am a retired teacher, teaching for 38 years in Special Education. I retired 12 years ago and followed my dreams of purchasing a property in the beautiful Lake District.
My wife also was in the teaching profession and was head for most of her career. In her final 6 years she was chief executive of 3 schools all on the same site, a comprehensive,primary and special school. She was honoured in the Queens birthday honours in 2001 and was made a Dame.
My hobbies are mainly sport now, playing golf, skiing, cycling a couple of times a week and I enjoy walking in the fells.
