The room had no A/C, must have missed that in the offering. Terribly hot, room temp 82-85 daily. Unlivable. The rooms and baths need a reset. With two baths there is no need for double sinks, as there was no counter space. Bathroom shower door had what appeared to have mold growth in the bottom shower rail. Also, paint peel on bath walls. The living room should have sun bloc-out drapes. The white drape did not provide sun relief. The Frig did not have moisture control, so items inside had moisture on them. On the bright side; the bed and couch were comfortable. Mahalo.

This place was just marvelous! It felt more spacious than the pictures, and we fell asleep every night to the gentle sound of the ocean waves. We took advantage of the outdoor BBQ station and made a lot of our own food; the kitchen was set up with all the basics we needed, which was helpful. We were VERY grateful to have had such a lovely week in this space. We also enjoyed using the pickleball and tennis courts close by in addition to the wonderful local sushi right down the street. A very special place that we hope we can come back to!

Great choice for a vacation rental

Great vacation rental! I've been to Maui many times and wish I had found this before. Clean, comfortable, good amenities, beautiful views of the ocean and close, easy access to the beach. The onsite restaurant was a nice feature for those nights when we didn't want to cook or go to another place to eat. I would recommend this place to anyone who is going to Maui and I will definitely be staying there again.

Sullivan travels made everything so convenient with updated text to me with all the info I needed. The condo was clean, and had everything we needed. We will be there in two more years can’t wait to go back. We vacationed the first week of June 2023.

Sands of Kahana very nice, with great beach and restaurant. The unit itself could be upgraded and cleaned more thoroughly, and the back bedroom was small, dark, and noisy with its proximity to people going up and down stairs. However, we really did enjoy our stay and watching whales from the lanai, which superseded any negatives.

A little overpriced In my opinion, (I’m a very seasoned traveler, and this room is over priced) Great view, and a pretty decent room. No air-conditioning at all, but if you open the doors, you at least get a good breeze. The screaming children with no security present, the continual running of the power washers mid week, too much to bear. Not a good selection if you’re looking for some privacy and quiet. This is a very tired room. Meaning, it’s ready for an update!The beach house was amazing! Kudos to all of my New friends there!

Condo Unit 318 Sands of kahana

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have stayed at the Sands of kahana in the past and have had a wonderful time. Unit 318 had a water pipe leak in the ceiling and it turned out to be a sewer pipe above the kitchen counter. This made the kitchen completely off limits and resulted in the condo smelling of urine, Building maintenance came in and out of the condo without prior notification cutting holes in the ceiling. They could not determine the scope of work needed. And responsible party we were told. A plumber also came but did not return. Or fix the problem. We had limited use and privacy in the condo. The leak was caused by the upstairs condo and they stopped using the master shower after we ran up and asked them what source of water they were using. It turned out to be the sewer drain. Unfortunately there was no offer to move us to another condo. Our children were staying in another condo in the same building and we spent more time in their condo. We only slept and showered in the back bedroom. When I asked who would clean and sanitize all the repeated sewer water and splashes all over the kitchen one Sullivan employee told me to do it my self with towels. We did receive a partial refund but with the limited use, sanitation concerns, smell of urine, and lack of privacy we were less than happy. When we arrived the patio had lots of sand and piles of leaves which I swept and disposed of. The shower pan is grimy looking. The condo has seen lots of wear and tear. Our sons condo was wonderful and thankfully they were gracious with letting us share their condo but it was limiting to their family privacy.too. We love the Sans of kahana and will return but not to this condo.

Maui is a frequent vacation spot for my husband and me, and for this trip, we loved being on the first floor (not ground) to bypass the building's slow elevator while still feeling safe. Being close to the pool and beach was super convenient! The property's beach was a bit eroded and choppy, and the pool had strong chlorine, but my young nieces and nephews loved it. We mostly hit Kahekili Beach Park instead. Parking was hands down my favorite stress-free perk since there was always plenty of space.Inside, the full kitchen hit the spot for saving money, and having a washer/dryer with plenty of towels was awesome. I was so happy they provided liquid hand soap, though you'll need to bring your own body wash. We saw two roaches, but it's Hawaii and pest control had just completed a routine spray, so we don't fault the unit at all.The main issue was the heat. There’s no AC, which was listed, but I totally missed it! To say it was hot is an understatement, especially from 3-6pm. The bedroom fan lacked speed control, and the single extra fan wasn't enough. Plus, the main bathroom fan was broken, sending humidity through the roof after showers. The condo shows a lot of wear and tear—it felt a bit like a "landlord special" with poor patching and patchy paint and a stuck kitchen drawer. Adding a couple of dehumidifiers or more fans would give it a fair shot at being comfortable. It definitely needs a thoughtful refresh, but the location and view is still great.
