Enjoyed a fantastic week at the Cape with my dog! This cottage was clean and welcoming! Everything I needed for a wonderful week at the Cape was provided - a short walk to the beach and incredible views of the marsh - wonderful spot to stay and enjoy the area!
The good news is that the area and beach is quite nice. Homeowners in the neighborhood and association are welcoming and friendly. The unfortunate news is that unit (#6) needs a lot of attention. The house is tired and worn. Floor on the kitchen is coming up and gave us splinters. The sheets are worn and some had stains (hopefully they were clean but sheets with stains must be replaced!) Guests were required to make their own beds which was a surprise as Iâve never stayed in a rental where beds werenât made unless you were required to bring your own sheets (which we wish we had). Pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc. are old, mismatched and kitchen not fully equipped for our use. Several of the deck chairs are broken and the other usable chairs fell through the expanding deck slats. AC was extremely loud and there was only one to cool the whole house. Neither the front or back doors offered a screen to get a cross breeze to be able to turn the AC off. The storm door on the front slams and doesnât close fully allowing bugs to get in the gaps. Windows that we opened were a challenge to raise and the sills were extremely dirty. Beds were not comfortable, etc., etc, etc. Overall, the home needs some major TLC. Paying top dollar on a week rental for such a small unit was not ok. It really did impact our one vacation of the year, so it felt like a bait and switch and we came away disappointed.
Spent a week here in late August. Canât beat the location, which has rights to a private beach within a super short walk. The back deck overlooking the marsh and the outside shower were also fantastic!! On the other hand all of the furniture was uncomfortable and worn in, including the two full-size mattresses in each of the bedrooms. The listing said that the rental comes with sheets. When we arrived, the beds were unmade. There were sheets in the closets but they really didnât seem clean⊠or maybe itâs that they were just super worn out. Also, there was one window AC unit, which acted as cooling for the whole Cottage. It didnât keep the bedrooms cool enough at night. All in all, we loved the proximity to the beach and the fact that we could bring our dog to the beach, but we wonât be staying again.
This was our first time renting and it was a great summer cottage. We were able to bring our dog and convenient to all the that the cape has to offer. It was in a quiet neighborhood and everyone we met was friendly. We were 2 adults and 1 child (teenager) along with a dog. The house does get a little small after awhile but was perfect for our beach getaway.
I greatly enjoyed my stay in Sandwich in this beautiful and comfortable cottage. I loved being surrounded by the natural beauty of the marsh and the beach and the cottage was a perfect little home for my visit.
Great location for families with young active children.
Enough room for family of four, short walk to the beach, but not for the faint of heart, it is uphill. Great outdoor shower "Hot Water". Great deck with awesome Marsh Land Views. Overall my family of four had a good time, we will come again.
Absolutely hands down our favorite cottage in the Cape we have stay in many other thou out the years but this one definitely made it to the top of the list! Clean, great neighborhood, short walk to beautiful beach! Canât wait to come back!
We enjoyed our stay at the Tidal Cottage and have already booked our next one. The house is newly renovated and beautiful. We spent most of our time on the deck enjoying the gorgeous marsh views. A quick walk across the street and we were in the powdery white sand of East Sandwich Beach. We did some fishing and plan to bring kayaks next time. This neighborhood is a hidden gem and every person we met was super friendly. Five star week in the Cape, for sure!
