Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Great Dunes cottage. The private pool was so convenient and enjoyed by young and old alike! The quiet neighborhood was also just right for us. I love to watch the beautiful sunrises on the beach and Great Dunes cottage was a close distance to the beach for my morning walk. Thank you for providing our family with a wonderful place to enjoy each other AND Jekyll Island!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice location and decent pool. Interior in need of serious updating, painting, and cleaning. I can get passed the yard sale like decor but its so dirty and the little apartment is disgusting. I couldn't even set my kids on the floor for a week and had to shower with my sandals on. When I say dirty- I mean it looks like it hasn't been thoroughly cleaned in ages. Moldy dirty carpet, windows that were in desperate need of cleaning, decorations that were tapped together, stained pillows, beds with gross stains, mildew in the shower, dust and grime in every nook and cranny, kitchen cupboards with crumbs and dirty dishes- the list goes on. Fortunately we didn't spend much of our time here but certainly would have liked to.

House was decorated with a hodgepodge of unwanted items from a thrift store. House extremely dusty. Master shower was so small and hasn't been updated since the 1970's. I tried to prepare meals for my family but the stove didn't work properly because it is so old. One burner wouldn't heat properly and the others over heated. The oven half heated. The pans and pots were unstable because the Teflon coating was flaking off in the food. Also found roaches in the utensils drawers.

We had a great stay. All three couples enjoyed this house. It was very spacious, great layout. Room to spread out. The apartment bed could use a mattress update for greater comfort and the dining room blinds an update, upper deck a few missing spindles. But those minor issues did not keep us from having a great time. Great quiet location on a dead end. Very close to everything Jekyll Island has to offer.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love the house and location but did have a couple of issues. The house needs a good deep cleaning. We pulled out dishes that had food stuck to them. Felt we had to wash everything before using. There’s was lots of dust and the bathrooms needed to be scrubbed. The pool service didn’t come until Thursday. I know bugs come with the territory but we had to work for hours before the pool was swimmable. The pool is the only reason we pay this much for a house! And the house was just cluttered. There’s too much furniture.

Almost perfect

The house was laid out great for our group of 3 couples. House was clean and beds were comfortable. Kitchen had the basics for cooking and the gas grill worked very well. The only thing anyone had to say that was negative was about the fixtures throughout the house. They could all use some updating. The pool was also very nice and clean without being overly done with chemicals. We all agreed that it would be a do over especially if faucets and spouts were replaced

My grandsons enjoyed the apartment so much. The pool was so nice and the patio areas were also enjoyed. We enjoyed the home so much we have already booked it for next year. I liked that the home is located on a dead end the grandkids could enjoy the circular driveway you didn't have to worry about traffic.
