Cousins Reunion

We were all very pleased with our stay. Plenty room to spread out and comfy beds. Home was clean and well stocked with necessities for our stay. Host was awesome with communication and recommendations for the area restaurants. Will definitely book again.

A roomy, quiet & very nice place to get away for a while

This is a very good place to go for peace & quiet, & to enjoy a relaxing time away. It’s roomy & comfortable, and the hosts are wonderful, helpful people who want to ensure that your stay will be all that you expect in a home away from home. Four of us friends sewed and laughed, & had a great weekend retreat, & highly recommend it for a small group/family gathering.

Great little place

This is perfect for the fisherman looking to be only about 3 minutes to the ramp and big Jim’s. It’s a little tight with a 21ft boat and full size truck but it’s doable and it’s very safe inside the property where everything is out of site! Enjoyed it and will definitely be staying again.

Comfortable and Familiar

This property was the perfect location for our fishing weekend at Lake Seminole. Only minutes away from Big Jim's, it is conveniently located to the boat ramp and a couple of restaurants. Walmart and other shopping/eating options are only a short drive away in Bainbridge. The house itself was just what the doctor ordered for us...quiet, peaceful, clean and relaxing. Plenty of parking in the yard for trucks and boats. Felt like a visit to grandma's house...very comfortable, with a familiar feel to it.

Lake Seminole getaway

We were in the area for a fishing tournament and ran across the Swamp Gravy listing. The location is perfect, it's a short drive to Bainbridge. It's very peaceful and you won't have to worry about nosey neighbors. If you're interested in fishing, Big Jim's is 1 mile down the road with access to Lake Seminole. Swamp Gravy was very clean and was furnished with everything that you will need. Gayle was probably the most helpful owner that I've delt with, she'll help you with any issues that you might have. We'll definitely be back.

Truly Awesome Experience!!! Wonderful Accomodations! Mrs. Julie makes you feel like family!

This has probably been the best experience we have ever had with a home away from home! The cabin was beautiful and fully stocked. Property was spotless, comfortable and had everything we needed!! Mrs. Julie made sure that we were able to have a beautiful family Thanksgiving. We had a family emergency on the way out there and she checked on us every day to see if there was any assistance she could give! Even let us stay another night just truly an ANGEL in my eyes! Will definitely be return guests!! If you have the chance to stay in one of her cabins -DO it will be worth it you will enjoy the peace and quiet and Beauty the surroundings offer! Thanks so much Mrs. Julie and Family!!!

Southwest Georgia Country Living

The Swamp Gravy house was my introduction to this part of the country. I had a wonderful stay. Julie is the single best Host I have ever met. Thank you, Julie. The house had everything I needed, including birdseed for the feeder. Every house in this part of the country has a pack of hunting dogs that sound like hyenas, but you get that anywhere down here. The quiet is profound. It is rare if a car goes by. The Porch is large and inviting and an important living area. I spent all my time here. I highly recommend the Swamp Gravy House and you will enjoy the lovely Miss Julie, an unusually sweet Host who sincerely wants you to be happy. This house is highly rated for Hunters and Fishermen. I do neither and loved it!

This place is fine if you just need a place to stay when attending a funeral.

We stayed here because he had a funeral to attend. This place is not for children. While getting ready for the funeral my autistic 10 year old pushed the ring camera 2x and my 7 year old come and got me saying a speaker wanted to talk to his parents. I came out to speak to Julie. She had me stand in the rain explaining to me that kids are not to be left alone in the yard and they are not to push the button. That I needed to explain to my son that ( what he thought was a door bell) wasn’t a toy. I said I understood and it wouldn’t happen again. But she continued repeating herself about 4x about my son’s behavior, while I got wet and my hair was just a mess. She then called my husband. He explained how we have one at home. She said that she had kids and she totally understood. That was very hypocritical. The beds are too small for a couple and the showers are slippery. We will not be coming back. THIS PLACE IS NIT FOR A FAMILY WITH KIDS.

Retaliation. Karen became angry & wrote Bogus, Petty review as 'Retaliation'. Yes, indeed her minor sons location outside alone was neglected by her & husband. They allowed him outside alone, with a Disability, multiple times & neglected to be with him at all times while outside. The minor child kept calling me on RING Unit because he could Not get back in house. Appeared frightened & disoriented! This Listings #1Rule- is stated -- Safety for all minors.(Not allowed outside in wilderness setting, unless with a Parent). She was fully aware. After childs 3rd call to me, I tried calling parents # & NO Answer. Then I spoke back on RIING & did ask minor, if an emergency, he did not reply. I asked him to knock on door to get his parents. He did. Karen arrived & I spoke total approx 60 seconds, there was no repeating of anything. And there was no rain, no ruined hair? Question is: Shouldn't she care more about her sons location outside alone? I Asked if they were all OK & let her know he appeared frightened & was maybe Ringing for Help. She assured me they were all ok & comfortable. She put him inside & we determined, all resolved & no emergency. She was so nice & thanked me! Property bed sizes all listed. Property has no slippery showers. Yes, we, as owners cared enough to stop & check if an Emergency. *After 15+ years, Only time any parent has violated Safety Rule! VRBO said I had legal right to ask her to leave. But, we understood & are kind Hosts. I did not ask them to leave, with no refunds. Accident & harm could happen to him in an instant.. We Do not recommend hosting her-Keith. Parents are always responsible for abiding by our Basic Safety Rules & caring 100% for any minor children.

Nice house, close to big jims.

Stayed here for a fishing tournament. A little tight to get to trucks and large bass boats... but doable. Receptacles on each side for charging batteries. And clean. Owners are super nice and are very accommodating.

Fishing Trip to Lake Seminole

This property was perfect for our annual trip to the lake. Plenty of room to tuck away two pickups pulling bass boats. Lots of room in the house for the four of us and all our gear and supplies. This place is only a few minutes from Big Jims and the State Park ramp. Julie was a fantastic host who made sure that we were well taken care of.
