La Madonna del Bagno est la derniĂšre maison sur la colline au dessus du village de Pergo. Cette maison est un foyer avant tout. Immeuble de 3 Ă©tages divisĂ© en 2 appartements avec jardins et entrĂ©es sĂ©parĂ©es. Contigu Ă  une Ă©glise peu frĂ©quentĂ©e ayant une ancienne fresque de la Vierge Marie allaitant, symbole des racines Ă©trusques et romaines de ce lieu et de la popularitĂ© du moulin Ă  eau de plus de 2 000 ans. Peu de lieux aussi paisibles que celui-ci : vue sur les oliveraies, collines et vallĂ©es, son des oiseaux et des feuilles. Les vieux murs Ă©pais empĂȘchent la chaleur de l'Ă©tĂ© et le froid de l'hiver de rentrer. Plafonds aux poutres en bois et carrelages en terre cuite reflĂštent le soin apportĂ© afin de respecter la tradition architecturale. Wifi sur place. À 2 km de Pergo et supermarchĂ©/bar/pizzeria ; Ă  10 min de Cortone et ses restaurants, musĂ©es, festivals de musique, galeries d'art, magasins et sa vie nocturne estivale ; et Ă  15 min de la gare principale reliant Florence et Rome.

Feels just like home...

We had a wonderful time at the santuario di Madonna del bagno! The host, Tommy and Lucy are lovely, very helpful and almost invisible. The house itself feels like a real home, full of life and love. The garden is a paradise in the middle of nowhere, very secluded and the pool is like liquid heaven, especially during the hot tuscany summer. One of the best holidays we've had so far...

Easter holidays in the Cortona hills

a wonderful haven, in the midst of nature; olive trees, hiking trails, peace and quiet. And at least a thousand books. This is truly a gemstone when you like authenticity. All touristic hotspots are within easy reach as ae shopping facilities and our hosts are ever so kind to guide us with tips ans addresses. Certainly a home on the hills we would like to visit every season.

Peace, Beauty and History

Thomas and Lucy's home is much more than we had hoped for. Gloriously peaceful beautiful wooded land and an absolutely comfortable and character-full house with history. We enjoyed cooking meals, building roaring fires in the centuries old fireplace, listening to the cuckoos, doves and other birds. We barely left the property during our one week stay because it was so rejuvenating to just BE. Lucy and Thomas are excellent hosts who are warm, helpful and we were honored to be their guests. We would definitely rent this house again.

Perfect stay

It was a wonderful stay in a perfect location with exeptionally kind hosts. The house is located in the hills near Cortona and very calm. It can be reached by a rural road with no resp. very few traffic. The character of the house is a nice mixture between italian and english concepts and fits perfectly into Tuscany. A big advantage is the pool and garden which allows relaxation at its finest. We will come back and recommend this for anyone who wants to slow down.

Beautiful place

We had such a wonderful week at Tommy and Lucy’s lovely house. It’s a lovely old Tuscan house, thoughtfully restored, with everything we needed. The house is packed full of books, including many old favourites for every age, and a dreamy hammock and a supremely comfortable sofa made very good reading spots. We spent lots of time as a family playing games in the pool, the garden and the house. At the bottom of the road (it was a 20 minute walk / 5 min drive down the hill, and the drive wasn’t too steep or windy, our rental car coped well) is a great little coffee/bar/tabac and a friendly pizzeria. There’s a fantastic small supermarket a further 5 minutes drive towards Cortona. Tommy and Lucy were delightful, helpful and full of useful advice. We’d love to return.

Gorgeous place for a relaxing summer vacation!

The owners, Lucy and Tommy are wonderful, kind hosts (Thank you both very much!). They know exactly when they can be of any help and stay in the background on their completely separated part of the property for the rest of the time. The house is located up in the hills outside of Cortona on a very pieceful spot and is surrounded by olive groves. The road to the house is small but good to drive. The house is a historic Tuscan farm house and its interior design is cozy and unique with influences from african culture. There is nothing you will miss: comfortable bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen, two newly renovated bath rooms 
 But in the summertime the place to be is the huge and well maintained garden with the inviting private pool and many sunny and shady spots for relaxing and enjoying vacation.

Perfect Tuscan experience.

A beautiful property with the quintessential views, flavour and history of a Tuscan villa. A great home base for day trips to the surrounding small towns such as Sienna or Montepulciano. Nearby town of Camucia has access to grocery stores and an amazing Thursday market. Initially the drive up the hill was daunting but it quickly became just part of the adventure and the views were well worth the climb. (Walking down to the coffee bar or pizzeria at the bottom of the hill was a worthwhile experience as well! ) There is a lovely table setting in the olive grove for watching the sunsets over the hills. Hosts Tommy and Lucy were welcoming and full of local knowledge and suggestions. They even left us some of their garden produce and a bottle of their own olive oil. The pool was an amazing addition for cooling off after a hot day of sightseeing or just adding a day of relaxation to the vacation. The kitchen was stocked with pretty much all the essentials making cooking dinner at home a great option. Upper bedroom was hot but fans were provided. Small things to be prepared for
wifi reception could be spotty (but good/free reception at bar down the hill), beds not as comfortable as home, no hand soap in bathrooms) These things in no way took away from our amazing experience and are just meant as helpful hints. We would highly recommend this villa as it truly enhanced our visit to the Tuscan area!

Trotz mĂ€ĂŸigen Wetters eine sehr schöne Zeit in besonderer Umgebung. Die wunderbare Lage ĂŒber dem Tal entschĂ€digt auch die ziemlich schlechte schmale Straße, die dorthin fĂŒhrt. Sehr sehr nette und zuvorkommende Gastgeber, die ebenfalls dort wohnen, aber keineswegs stören.

Tolle Unterkunft, toller Urlaub

Die Unterkunft ist genau wie im Inserat beschrieben. Das Haus ist komplett ausgestattet, es fehlte uns an nichts. Wir wurden bereits im Vorfeld vom Vermieter kontaktiert und mit allen nötigen Informationen versorgt. Die Vermieter, Tommy und Lucy, haben uns bei unserer Ankunft herzlich empfangen. Sie leben mit auf dem GrundstĂŒck auf der RĂŒckseite des Hauses. Sie standen bei Bedarf jederzeit zur VerfĂŒgung, hielten sich sonst aber im Hintergrund. Wir haben den weitlĂ€ufigen Garten und den Pool sehr genossen. Da die nĂ€chsten HĂ€user etwas entfernt lagen, hatten wir auch absolute Ruhe. Wir haben unseren Urlaub rundum genossen und danken Tommy und Lucy fĂŒr ihre Gastfreundlichkeit.

Traumhafter Garten und Pool

Wir hatten zu sechst (4 Erwachsene, 2 Kids und ein Hund) Ende August/Anfang Sepember 2022 drei wundervolle Wochen bei Tommy und Lucy im Haus. Das Haus liegt direkt an einer alten Kirche und wirklich absoluter Ruhe in Mitten von Olivenhainen. Der Pool ist ein Traum und man kann hier wirklich die Seele baumeln lassen. Tommy und Lucy sind sehr freundliche und immer hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Wir können jedem der Ruhe und Entspannung in herrlicher Natur sucht dieses Objekt nur empfehlen.

Sehr idyllische und gemĂŒtliche Unterkunft

Ein sehr liebevoll eingerichtetes Haus mit einem großen Garten und eigenem Pool. Die Location lud sehr zum Entspannen ein. Die Sauberkeit war einwandfrei. Die Lage ist ruhig und Mitten in der Natur. Die Vermieter sind sehr herzlich und zuvorkommend. Wir haben uns mit unserem Hund sehr wohlgefĂŒhlt.

Fabulous property and owners

We had a fantastic stay. The listing is very accurate (the photos don't do it justice) and the owners were especially helpful. The gardens are lovely and the pool is well designed with an extended step for very small children to play on in the shallows, then half the pool is a good depth for older children, while the other half is deep enough to dive and jump into. The property is very well furnished, the kitchen well equipped, there's lots of interesting art and many many books. The owners live underneath the property and are very helpful but not intrusive. The drive up to the property is very steep in places, so unless you love steep hiking in the heat, you'll be driving up and down it. The shop at the bottom of the hill is well stocked and the staff are friendly. The bar/cafe and pizzeria are also very good and friendly.

Amazing!

We (4 adult friends) stayed in this amazing house for one week in june and enjoyed every second of it! Tommy and Lucy welcomed us when we arrived and were extremely kind and helpful throughout our whole stay. I can strongly recommend renting this place to everyone. The house is well equipped, the garden and the pool area is great and the house is located within reach to pretty much everything you want to do and see in Tuscany.

Traumhafter Urlaub

Toskana ist natĂŒrlich immer eine Reise wert. In diesem Haus kann man seinen Urlaub allerdings ganz besonders genießen. Es ist alles so, wie es sein sollte. Traumhaft schönes GrundstĂŒck und fĂŒr Kinder gibt es auch sehr viel zu entdecken. Die Gastgeber sind ebenfalls sehr nett und vermitteln von der ersten Begegnung sofort das GefĂŒhl, dass man hier besonders gut aufgehoben ist. Wir kommen wieder :)

Fantastic stay with Tommy and Lucy

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The house is 500 years old and perfectly charming, though a little dark which I think is to be expected. The hosts were super helpful and friendly. Their is a great espresso shop at the end of their road (which is rather curvy and long) for a morning cappuccino and croissant. It's very private and quiet with unbelievable Tuscan valley views. Highly recommend.

Schöne Ferienwohnung in den Bergen der Toscana

Wir haben bei Lucy und Tommy ein paar wunderbare Tage in ihrem Haus verbracht. Es war so schön! Abends waren nur das Vogelgezwitscher und das Zirpen der Zikaden zu hören. Nach unseren AusflĂŒgen in die Umgebung, nach Cortona, Assisi oder Arezzo haben wir das kĂŒhle Wasser des Pools genossen. Im Haus war alles vorhanden, was wir benötigten. Zum Zeitpunkt unseres Besuchs war nur Lucy vor Ort und sie hat uns bestens betreut. Eine große Überraschung war auch die kleine Kirche direkt am Haus "Madonna del Bagno". Vielen Dank Lucy fĂŒr die kleine FĂŒhrung. Dies war also insgesamt ein erholsamer und schöner Urlaub. Danke Lucy und Tommy

Entspannung pur

Wir waren mit unserer Familie hier und hatten eine unglaublich schöne Woche. Das Haus ist top und der Garten bietet alles um zu relaxen. An der Ausstattung fehlte nichts und die Gastgeber waren zurĂŒckhaltend aber immer bereit Auskunft zu geben. Das war nicht unser letzter Aufenthalt. Danke

Having moved around all our lives, this is 'home'. Acquired in the mid 1970s, as a derelict farmhouse, we've poured energies into its restoration, with a particularly keen eye to maintaining its architectural traditions and to working the land - tending the olive groves and oak woods, and creating relaxing spaces.
The olives, wood piles, lawns, fruit trees all call for attention, as do the surrounding hills in which we hike and bike, or Cortona or many of the surrounding towns where a morning cappuchino or an evening sun downer gives just the right accent to the day. Leah and Chiara were born in Kenya, went to school in Rome and now in the UK and relish in their weekends and holidays at "Il Bagno". We love it and haven't yet met anyone who doesn't also fall in love with its simplicity and beauty.

As fairly busy travellers for much of the year, La Madonna del Bagno provides the perfect relaxation - with its wild-yet-tame beauty, its invitation to be lazy or active, its remoteness as the last house on the hill while at the same time its accessibility to art, culture, food, and leisurely strolls in any of the surrounding towns.

In these troubled times, it is a perfect place to get away from it all, with a variety of work stations for those who need to keep in touch with the office.

It's home. The children love it. Friends and family want to come and come again.

You can easily stay-put, entertained and rested at the same time or explore the many attractions that the area has to offer.
