Morgan's Cottage possède l'une des meilleures positions de Dale au bord de l'eau

Morgan's Cottage a été récemment rénové, avec chauffage central et nouvelle cuisine. C'est un chalet familial et non une location de luxe et est soumis aux effets habituels du vent et de la mer! Nous espérons que le nouveau chauffage gardera le chalet au chaud et confortable pendant les mois d'hiver. Il dispose de 2 chambres doubles et 2 lits jumeaux (dont l'un est dans le grenier). Le salon a un poêle à bois et des fenêtres qui donnent sur le Gann, la plage et le ponton. Le petit patio est un bain de soleil l'après-midi. Il y a de la place pour 2-3 voitures. Pour les provisions de base, le magasin local est juste au coin de la rue. Le Griffin Inn est un pub primé, avec de la bonne nourriture en particulier pour ses poissons fraîchement pêchés et se trouve à quelques pas le long de la digue. Le Yacht Club de l'autre côté de la rue possède un restaurant. Au coin de la rue, Dale Sailing loue des planches à voile, des dériveurs, des canoës, etc. et donne des leçons. En haute saison, il y a un café à côté qui a également une petite boutique avec des épiceries limitées. Il y a un Tesco à Milford Haven et un plus grand à Haverfodwest qui livrera à Dale.

Great setting for family get together

Morgan's cottage was a great location for mine and my brother's families to spend a special long weekend together. The accomodation is spacious and flexible and the sitting room and dining room were perfect for our group of seven. Check-in was easy and communication from the owners was good. The kitchen was well stocked, and the wood stoves kept us cosy.

The view from this property was excellent!!! A wonderful village. The house is tired in parts but it didnt impact on our holiday. The house has so much history. We loved Sean who made us very welcome. We would gladly book again.

Absolutely fabulous location

Morgan's Cottage is in the best possible location with stunning views of the bay. The cottage has a lovely homely cosy feel and is very well equipped with comfortable beds. We spent the most enjoyable Christmas here and would love to return some time in the summer too.

Lovely 3 night stay

Great location for walking the Coast Path. Views of the water from every room. Kitchen very well equipped. We especially liked being able to have a fire in the wood stove at night. We would definitely stay there again.

Mid July visit

Super location. Spectacular sea views with tidal patterns on two aspects from good sized living room. Lapping of waves & sea gulls provided ‘mood music’. Enjoyable mix of coastal walks to local beaches. Dale Yacht Cub opposite - excellent menu and lovely staff. Would love to visit again.

Wonderful stay

Absolutely wonderful spot, it was perfect for my family (and one dog). All of the rooms has sea views and the house had a lovely homely feel to it with lots of spaces for relaxing so no-one felt on top of each other. Dale is a very remote place, so would recommend bringing all supplies with you in advance as you may not be able to rely on getting things from the village.

Our stay at Morgan’s Cottage was wonderful. The house was clean and very comfortable. The location was perfect. We were able to walk to beaches and other places for family were a short drive away. The Griffin was visited often during our trip. We will be back.

Beautifully positioned cottage

We loved our stay here, the property seems to have been refurbished to a better standard than the pictures portray. The location on the water is stunning and we fitted 7 people comfortably. The host was very communicative and it was great to have the parking available too. Thanks for a brilliant stay. Warning there is no hot tub, I was told by the host this is a mis-naming on Vrbo.

Beautiful location for a cosy winter break

Property is lovely as described with an excellent kitchen; comfortable beds and lovely living room. Plentiful wood for the two burners. Useful to note that the radiators all have individual electric switches on which are thermostatically controlled - the rooms warms up fairly quickly once they are turned on so make sure you don’t set them too high

Magical weekend in October

Fantastic location and very comfortable house, traditionally furnished with everything you might need. Parking huge asset in Dale. Coco's Brasserie was the only restaurant open in October and we had a nice dinner there. Dale is a friendly village. Walking from here is beautiful.

Amazing place

We had a fabulous weekend at Morgan’s cottage 30/11 - 2/12/18. The house was amazing, so comfortable and clean with everything you could possibly need. We had a pre Christmas family gathering and made wonderful new memories. The log fire and the sound of the sea was a lovely relaxing treat for us all. We didn’t want to leave. Dale is a lovely friendly scenic little village and would highly recommend a visit.

A little piece of heaven

The photos do not really do the cottage justice! Perfect location as near to the sea as you can possibly get, with views from every window. Morgan's Cottage was immaculate and has all the facilities you need, a home away from home. A sofa each all with a view a bonus! Stunning scenery on the doorstep as well as the surrounding areas. Great communication from hosts.

Just some improvements could be made.

The house was lovely. But when we got to the property. There was a dehumidifier in the hall way. The down stairs bedroom smelt very damp. Well to be honest the whole house did very old and musty. When we stripped the beds the under sheets where stained and the duvets themselves had big stains on them.

We were very sorry to see you were unhappy with the cottage. We have never had a bad review before so this is upsetting. As we try to make clear on the website, it is a family cottage and it is right on the sea. It does get damp and that is why you were greeted by the dehumidifier, as we try to give you as warm a welcome as we can! We were not aware of the state of the under-sheets and duvet but can assure you that the sheets are all cleaned thoroughly for each visit. Guests (and family!) do and will spill things but apart from providing brand new duvets for every visit, it is hard to see what we can do. Nevertheless, I can see that because we ask you to strip the beds because of Covid rules, it might be disconcerting. Apart from that, I do hope you enjoyed your time in Dale.

60th Anniversary

My two brother, my sister and myself stayed at Morgan’s Cottage from 9th - 12th December 2024 as it was 60 years since or Mother, who was from Dale and is buried in the cemetery, died. We stayed in Morgan’s Cottage10 years ago to commemorate 50 years of her passing. Our maternal grandmother lived around the corner from Morgan’s Cottage, cleaned the cottage and looked after the keys for the family. As children, we knew the current manger, Caroline and her brother and cousins who would stay every summer. Morgan’s Cottage has been part of all our lives since as long as we can remember and to be able to spend time there has been an absolute joy and pleasure. The one small criticism would be the efficiency of the shower over the bath - otherwise, everything was perfect! As we are now in our late sixties / early seventies, we are not going to leave it for another 10 years before returning and I would be grateful if you could give me a quote for the following dates, please? 7th - 10th June 2027 Kind Regards Phil

A Long Weekend stay

Morgan's cottage is in the most perfect location. The views from the cottage are spectacular and my favourite room is the lounge on the first floor offering different views from 3 of the 4 windows. Lots of light and a very cosy space. A stone's throw from The Griffin pub (we thought the restaurant menu a little pricey) however the staff, service and food are excellent. The Yacht Club is lovely and sits right opposite the cottage where we also went for a meal, which was fabulous. The weather was good and we were able to sit out on the patio by the side of the cottage and enjoy the sound of the lapping waves at high tide. I went swimming every morning and paddle boarding in the day. The bay is extremely safe and you can quite easily lose a couple of hours out on the water. Morgan's cottage has a large kitchen/diner which is very well equipped. The beds are comfortable, with amazing views from every window. If you are looking to escape and unwind then this is the place. The only negative was that the recycling bins hadn't been emptied the week before which made it more difficult for ourselves and one of the inside walls was wet and we weren't sure if there was a leak or just caused from condensation and a bit of a whiff from the drains. We reported this to the very helpful gentleman in the end cottage who introduced himself at the beginning of our stay so I'm sure it will get looked into. These are just small points though, as the overall stay was wonderful!

Most amazing vacation spot ever!

Where do I even begin....staying at Morgan's Cottage was like living inside a storybook. The house itself was absolutely stunning. Well appointed and so clean. Caroline provided a wonderful and completely thorough book to assist us in learning how to operate the heat as well as the kitchen appliances and washer/dryer. After a bit of review, we were able to utilize the entire space with total ease. The house was so large and left so much extra room for us to relax and enjoy. I think the most amazing thing was the views from each room. Waking every morning and looking out over the water made it hard to want to leave the house and explore! Even with the few days of rain, we explored the each of Dale, collected amazing shells and rocks while my three boys enjoyed crabbing along the pier and the sweet little cafe where they were able to buy everything they needed to catch the big one! There is also the most amazing restaurant nearly right across the street from the house with the most delicious fish dinner we had on our entire trip though England, Wales and Scotland. After traveling all across the UK, THIS house and THIS special spot remains our favorite. Something my boys still talk about all of the time. Always asking when we can go back! Our only complaint was that we didn't book enough time there. Three short days just wasn't enough! We plan to return again and give ourselves much longer to enjoy the area and everything the Morgan's Cottage has to offer. Morgan's Cottage has been in the same family since before the war, and we are now in the fifth generation of family coming to Dale. Three of the houses along ‘the Brig’ date from the eighteenth century, when Dale was considerably bigger than it is now, with a busy port. Before our grandfather bought the cottage from the Dale Castle Estate in 1939, it was a Post Office and shop run by Polly Morgan. It is named after her.

My mother and her brother and sisters were evacuated to Dale during the WWII where they had spent previous family holidays. When the cottage became available, because of its wonderful position, our grandfather bought it, and rebuilt it after the war to be the family holiday home.

The property is right on the sea and overlooks the bay which is perfect for sailing, swimming, canoeing and fishing; the coastal path runs right past it; it's in the heart of the tiny village, a pebble's throw from the Griffin Inn which is the social centre; and it's a short walk to West Dale where there is a sandy beach and good surfing. Milford Haven and Haverfordwest (for shopping) are both about a 20 minute drive away.
